Right, based on this evidence, I have to go tubeless on two back wheels very soon – one of them is on an Alfine so it makes sense to me. This is a Mavic 521 rim. The other is a DT Swiss 4.1d. Any ideas what I should get?

OKay, I’m in – I’ll have some of these methinks:

However, I need the mediums according to the chart but I’m usually XL in Gore and L in Endura (even in XL sometimes). I am around 34 – 35″ waist and 1m79 so medium would be perfect but it just doesn’t seem right!

Anyone any experience of the sizes?

Mountain biker and someone who has time to even watch Freeview? Amazing. I can’t find the time to watch telly, even when I actually want to!

Just found Endura to be good, that’s all. They don’t have to be. So long as they’re pretty warm and can be worn on their own in the winter. Not too bothered about waterproof as I have some Gore waterproof trousers I can put over the top if I need to.

    Padana. Magic and surprisingly hot.

Until the road’s wet, snowy or muddy. Then you’ll be sideways or backwards into some poor bugger. Handel was obviously more talented, and perhaps cool to boot, but he was German as well.

Sorry to jump in here but I have Shaun White. Anyone know where I can get a board from? Is it part of Wii Fit or not?

I would try my best to see if they could at least help you out money-wise but go for tracking first, as above. Tyres make a MASSIVE difference though. I never cut corners with them. Buy some Vredestein from camskill.co.uk and enjoy the feeling of grip.

I lived in Germany for 4 months (Heidelberg). I loved it…for 3 months. The last month I hated because they just got to me. For much of the same reasons as you point out. The bei Rot stehen crap really annoyed me.

However, overall I loved it and I want to move to Austria asap but I can’t find a way yet. Thanks Mr. Brown!

Point is though – wherever you are, you’d better make every attempt to enjoy it pretty quickly because life moves pretty fast…

Or just stop yapping about German motors and see the light – we have a BMW, 2 Mitsubishis, a Honda CTR and a v. old Honda 2.2 VTEC with 210K miles. The freshest feeling cars (and most reliable) have been the (older) Japanese ones all the way. Some of the time, it’s the closest you’ll ever get to a British car (still miles away) thanks to Swindon and Sunderland.

I found a Honda to be the best fix for my Renault problem.

5’11” but short legs and used to like a long top tube. However, now have an 18″ 456 Ti and love it – just right.

Mitsubishi Legnum (Galant) VR-4. I can put four bikes on the top and four inside if I wish. Goes like stink, it’s stealthy and one of mine has been timed at 0-62 mph in 6.7 seconds. However, we had three bikes on the roof, the car was full and we were going up a hill.

AWD, AYC, a twin turbo 2.5 V6 coupled with comfort make them the best car I have ever driven (and I have owned sports cars and driven RS6s etc.).

Who said they were functional? My VR4s have recirculation valves so protect the turbos while making almost no noise. Makes sense to me.
