There is some new track at pyb But if you head just down the road to jims bridge over the bridge and into the woods there is some sort of track there that has been there for ages worth a try and not too far from home.If that doesnt work i second the marsh tracks comment

Great effort. My little girl managed it in october last year at just over three and a half it took a few evenings of practice on the local promenade I was so pround. In the easter of last year she managed 15 miles on the flat with stabilisers and all with no complaints just took it steady. Fat britian and obese kids not in my house

    Just wondering
Why would anyone want to ride on a sheet of ice anyway. Snow yes great fun and doesnt hurt when you fall on it but ice that bloody hurts and is impossible to corner on. I do seem to remember the marin being shut last winter people ignoring the sighns and hearing several stories of broken hips and arms. The trails at llandegla are far better when they are dry and dusty in the summer go ride somewhere else and just wait
p.s Had a great day at coed y Brenin today no snow or ice only sketchy bit was the drive home.

There are plenty of routes the lon las eifion cycle path is great all trafic free can be combined with the highland railway and caernarfon castle for a great day out.Check out sustrands routes
Newbrough forest on anglesey a maze of fire roads and single track to get lost on.
Llangefni to malltraeth cycle path on anglesey is good too pubs at each end.
Plenty of narrow lanes to ride around on the LLeyn to find your own beach.
Hope the weathers good it makes the whole area better than being abroard. I have spent the past week teaching mountain biking to year 9 students just loving the sunshine :-)

I have worked in edale several times and often wondered how strict the councils were on the parking front. Its only a fiver for the whole day much cheeper than parking in a city centre or the same amount as you would spend in the pub at the end of a ride. Just pay the fine take it as a lesson learn’t oh and learn to navigte :-)

GCSE cycling is part of the PE sylybus I just have to make some adaptations its great for those who are not into the so called regular sports football, rugby etc I can teach in a weeks riding time what a school PE teacher teaches in almost a year most PE students only get 2 hours a week.

I took my daughter when she was 2 she got on ok and was happy to climb to around 2m until she wanted do come down she had to use a full body harness as a waist harness would not fit her and she was too light for me to use any form of belay device so a couple of wraps of the rope in a karabina surficed although not a recomended form of belaying. The BMC (British mountaineering council) give out great advice to parents whishing to take theit children climbing. I have taken my daughter again and she seems to be keener on bouldreing oh and jumping on the mats do bear in mind climbing walls are usually filthy dirty with old chalk dust.

OMG that was hard but what an excellent event again. My legs had totaly given up the ghost by the last climb, might have had something to do with the blood loss from my nose on every climb. Not sure what that was all about I looked like I had been in a fight by the time I had finished . Hope my legs have recoveed my tomorrow as for the rest of the week I am teaching GCSE mountain biking in and north wales.Mental note to self must train more for the next time
