Love you mr. martin.
nukeproofridingFree MemberFor the sake of your child don’t do it at christmas and work on it if you can. That’s all I’ll say. There’s no replacement for a solid family.
nukeproofridingFree MemberIt’s never occurred to you that the “STW regulars” might have daughters….
what the…No excuse lol I’ve got a dog – doesn’t mean I lick my ass. 😆
nukeproofridingFree MemberLabrador, and does it have to be a pure bred? We’ve always had mutts – less illnesses, characterful and less to insure (if you want to bother with insurance). Currently a rescue golden retriever / german shepherd cross and he’s brilliant. If you go for a mild, calm rescue dog you will be rewarded with a feeling of being a good human being everyday you wake up to feed it as well as the fun that having any dog gives you.
nukeproofridingFree MemberLol at all the STW regulars reading twilight… what the…
nukeproofridingFree Membernukeproof– are you aware of the israeli land grabbing, the palestinian people have as much right to live in ‘israel’ as the israelis– have you checked out the historical background ?
Yeah I wouldn’t say i’m an expert but I think im more clued up than all the hipster “free palestine” contrarians who jump on board because it’s fashionable. I studied middle eastern history for about 3 years.
I don’t think any country should be forced to put up with a terrorist state, and it’s definitely more complicated than most people seem to believe. I really do appreciate that.
All I know rudebwoy is that I wouldn’t appreciate someone launching missiles into britain from france or ireland, that’s for sure. That’s essentially what’s going on here. I’m talking purely geographical here and this is in no way related to the irish troubles, but imagine if the taliban or hamas was firing rockets at britain and people were dying from ireland – would we put up with it?
The land grabbing issues are complex yes, and it’s not all Israels fault. Don’t forget that Egypt invaded after british rule crumbled (rightly so) in favor of the All Palestine government. Egypt did more damage in 10 years than Israel has in 50. And that was BEFORE Hamas had a foothold. And again, there are deep wounds at play here. Deep wounds that neither palestine nor Israel will EVER forget. Wounds that people both pro and anti Israel will never have and never will experience. And that’s why i’m on the fence (for now).
You also have to take into account that it is a political minefield and as I said before a **** up. Israel has had it’s more than unfair share of invasion and land grabbing i.e. the west bank when it was annexed by Jordan. Don’t forget also that whilst the Palestinian exodus was cruel, the changes in the area after the Arab Israeli war created 7 to 800,000 Jewish refugees as well – the majority of whom fled to the newly reated Israel because there was a very real threat of them being killed in cold blood by disgruntled Arab Coalition soldiers who were angry about Jordans illegal annexation of the west bank – something we, unfortunately condoned (if only as a way of appeasing the Arab coalition).
It’s just one of those things where you start reading about it in hope of coming to some clear, moral decision for yourself (at least I do personally), but it’s like sticking your head in a black hole because there is seemingly no end to the causes and symptoms of what we see today. Clear as mud.
Sorry – long post. 😡
nukeproofridingFree MemberSorry if i’m reviving a topic that died because no one wanted to talk about it but just read something about gaza which was pretty interestingIm still unsure where I stand on the situation but know for a fact that civilian casualties are just as unnacceptable as they are anywhere in the world.
What I think we should remember however is that for every good bean in Gaza, there are 2 or 3 bad ones. It is run by a terrorist organization and as such the country is badly managed and is virtually on it’s knees without an invasion so.. we come to the interesting fact that Gaza is unsustainable in it’s current state – it has the 7th highest population growth rate IN THE WORLD. Look at it on a world map and remember to catch your jaw when it drops off. Something up with that.
Gaza has been a complete **** up for hundreds of years and the area has been a **** up for the last 2000.
I think my major problem with Israel is not that they are technically superior in terms of weapons and armaments, and not that it is retaliating against a terrorist organization but that it is currently doing so with a sledgehammer and not a scalpel.
If I throw 3 large rocks into my neighbors garden when he is in his sunlounger once a day 365 days a year, I can guarantee you that they will start being thrown back. He is a born again christian and irons his jeans.
Perhaps on an insane level, a well managed ground based intervention would be better in protecting the lives of civilians than just firing missiles into the strip? because we all know that just like the taliban, Hamas love nothing more than the opportunity to show that an army is killing innocents because all of their communication equipment and ammo dumps are in schools, hospitals and innocent peoples houses who are roped into “Helping the Brotherhood”. I don’t know what everyone else thinks but are we past the point of a diplomatic solution? I think some grievances are simply too deep for it to work and/or parties involved are unwilling to do so. After all you could argue that this issue actually began a thousand years ago.
nukeproofridingFree MemberI don’t see much wrong with giving a dog an occasional kick
Yes, as long as people understand the difference between an occasional kick and kicking the hell out of it – which is just disgusting and totally wrong in every sense of the word.
At the age of 12 it’s probably kinder to put it down
This. Take it to the vet for a 2nd opinion maybe, but 12 is old for a small dog, and being re homed traumatises them immensely. It sounds soppy as **** I know, but it can kill an old dog, they get so stressed and upset about being separated from their family – especially if they’ve already been re-homed.
nukeproofridingFree MemberSorry but anyone who thinks TDU2 is a decent driving game has lost their marbles. Horrible graphics, horrible physics engine (if you can even call it that – more like a hyper reality mario kart engine) and way too arcade like to be a decent ‘driving’ game in my eyes. Yes the open map thing is cool, but you get that with horizon – and it’s a bigger more beautiful map too.
nukeproofridingFree MemberWorjs for me so the fecker won’t start again.
Well… one day you’ll probably punch a full sized german shepherd or something and it’ll eat you. People like you just won’t learn so I’m not going to try and lecture you.

Is it a time travelling cat? Or did you break the space time continuum by throwing it out? We will never know…
nukeproofridingFree Membereverytime the the hound stepped out of line it got a proper kicking.
That’s not how you train a dog though… you know that right? If they’ve never been trained, they are edgy instinctive creatures. Kicking the crap out of it because it wasn’t properly trained isn’t a decent solution really because then it’s just living in fear surely? If people can’t handle them – ring around your local independent farmers and they will usually take them off your hands and make them working dogs.
nukeproofridingFree MemberWow you sound bitter.
He may be bitter but he’s right. Holiday would be ruined by those with more coinage than brain cells. Unless you grouped together with a load of mates and booked out every available space for a particular period I guess haha.
nukeproofridingFree MemberForced my dad to leave his on ios 5 until they sort their shit out and re release ios 6 as a working system. Happy with my 3gs right now 🙂
nukeproofridingFree MemberOn motorways and dual-carriage ways, with good conditions (inc. weather, traffic volume, etc) then I usually cruise in the 80-90 zone…
As long as you don’t take corners too quickly, undertake to maintain that speed or take your eyes of the road then yes. No one leaves enough room between cars either though.
nukeproofridingFree MemberSo drivers who have broken the speed limit and been caught – possibly repeatedly are pissed off that their premiums are going up? What planet are they on? Tough shit. That’s what happens when you speed, you’re more likely to crash and more likely injure others – so you pay more.
nukeproofridingFree MemberPersonally I don’t get Halo at all, such an overrated series
Yeah they’ve only sold about 48 million copies… 😯 How could a game with so many sales possibly be so overrated?
nukeproofridingFree MemberPhantom problem on webbers red bull car incoming in 3….2….1….
I just think it’s a bit pathetic really. I stopped caring about f1 along time ago but it’s just all so pedantic. We’re meant to find it exciting though I suppose. Motogp and rally is where it’s at for me.nukeproofridingFree MemberSolder and shrink sleeve from Maplins. And protect the bendy bit with sleve as well.
This. It’s not difficult, just be sure that you get a clean solder join and all of it is shrink wrapped nicely with a lighter.
nukeproofridingFree MemberKeep for your bmw and get it sprayed black? 😆 Enough of these hideous ff bikes and those plastic things with giant pleasure toys sticking out of the front. Back to cafe’s trackers and bobbers. 😆
2013 Guzzi v7
Um2 shortened BMW R80’s built by Untitled Motorcycles based just down the road from where I used to live in Kentish Town. They build them to order, the scrambler with the raw tank is for sale.
Yammy xs650 by wrenchmonkees
Love this cb 750!
nukeproofridingFree Memberword of caution…. you could turn into this chap!
In the eyes of a BF3 player… He’s just a normal COD player :p
nukeproofridingFree MemberHmm 5 pages in and we wonder if nukeproof has been here before with a different name. Honestly jumping in with a massive rant post is like walking into a random pub and kicking off. Ie not clever.
I didn’t think it was that ‘ranty’. I just posted my opinion for pete’s sake. And unless anyone can prove it I suggest you stop accusing me of being someone else because it’s beginning to do my head in, and it’s not on topic.
nukeproofridingFree MemberNo cat deserves kicking out in the winter. Get it to the vet though, they wont charge you anything – if it’s micro chipped it’ll be returned to owner, if it’s not you either keep it or they’ll take it to an animal shelter.
I’d keep it. They aren’t difficult to look after and it might bugger off somewhere else in a month or two anyway. Just don’t kick it out incase it’s ill. Wouldn’t be very nice if you found it dead nearby tomorrow.
nukeproofridingFree Membernukeproofriding in ‘not being new’ shocker….
You’re going to have to clear this up for me because I genuinely have no idea what you are talking about..
nukeproofridingFree MemberSourcing wood isn’t difficult. At least not where we live – Within a 30 mile radius there are 5 independent suppliers who deliver pre cut dry fire wood and kindling to your doorstep, and they aren’t that expensive. Delivery is free too if you buy a seasons worth or more in one go :p
I wouldn’t recommend getting your own firewood, but make your own kindling. For what it is – a bag of it is pretty expensive and if you get through 4 or 5 bags of kindling in a season it costs a bit.
worth putting a vent in as the flue can get very warm.
This. I’d say it’s essential. They get VERY hot.
nukeproofridingFree MemberFor someone who has been on this forum for less than a week
Why is this such a major sticking point? I’m not allowed to comment on a topic because i’ve been on the forum less than a week lol? What is this? The Bullingdon club?
I think there are fair points to be made about individuals managing their finances poorly – getting dragged into things they can’t afford, which is entirely their fault and as such they are at the mercy of their creditors. But there are larger nationwide issues that if solved would alleviate some of those problems. Even those who have a tight belt on their finances and don’t spend on extravagances – but don’t have cushy jobs are being squeezed more than ever. Meanwhile small businesses are paying ever higher tax and vat rates, higher rental bills for their premises and Phillip Green is jetting around monaco paying a fraction of the tax percentage that a small british business does. Their gas and electricity bills are going up, fuel’s ridiculously expensive, many of them are still suffering from the previous banking generations colossal cock up with mortgages that went rotten and a subsequent price hike in apr. And all the time they are expected to work harder, for less.
The banks need to lend more to individuals and sensible businesses with a fair rate of return that ensures that they cover their wages and costs, but not billions of profit. Our country cannot survive on an entirely banking based economy, but we’re supposed to be grateful that they’re here. The fact is they need us as much as we need them, and they aren’t going to disappear anytime soon, regardless of whether they pay their fare share of tax. This is especially true when foreign baking marketplaces are growing larger than our own, and do it with less risk. Their gambling divisions need to be put on a leash, and their ‘bonuses’ need to be based on performance and the stability of the countries economy they mine for profit. If they **** up, they **** up and it’s at their own cost – not ours.
nukeproofridingFree MemberI’m denying there’s a spate of elderly people, young families (and now, apparently, middle aged folk too) having their doors kicked down by paid thugs and expelled onto the streets for the sake of having defaulted on a mortgage payment. There may be problems but making irrational, inflammatory and exaggerated claims about the scale of the problem is doing no one any good and marks you out as a bit of a loon.
No need to call me a loon really. You are quite remarkably detached from reality aren’t you? You may well want to make all your internet friends on this forum believe you live in an impenetrable middle class bubble, and I doubt you do – but there are people out there being forced to sell their house and move into rented accommodation if they can afford it, split their family and live with friends or live in a family shelter provided by a charity. That is happening. Right now. If you don’t believe that then I’m just lost for words.
nukeproofing made a good point [ post pub??] and used a bad example
Yes, sorry it was a terrible example.
nukeproofridingFree Memberanywhere on earth within 90min. scramjets are the tech to make this happen.
Yeah it’s current design is essentially a mach 8 payload delivery system. I suppose the closest thing to exist previously is the infamous v series payload delivery rockets used in the second world war like the doodle bug. Just much much much faster and probably much scarier.
and the need for billion dollar fighters will diminish dramatically.
Yes this is an inevitability to a degree, but I would argue that there will always be pilots. Pilots trained specially to shoot down combat drones, pilots to fly high security missions that need the flexibility and reliability that an unmanned drone cannot provide. We’re a long way off computer systems that can make the decisions required in a war zone quickly enough, reliably enough and with the clarity of mind and instant moral decisions that an active pilot makes in a war zone.
nukeproofridingFree MemberP.S. when you give your kid the xbox (you’re a great santa btw :)) Make him sign a document saying that he will not moan or repeatedly pester you about buying him an xbox 720 or ps4… because they might be out next year, maybe only 5 or 6 months after christmas… and thus 360’s will no longer be “the thing” to have. *Sigh* Ill continue playing mine anyway until the 720 is old and cheap lol.
nukeproofridingFree MemberEdit: Oh no, I forgot. I’ve already paid off my mortgage………….
Look I didn’t post to pick a fight with you, but you seem to love doing it. What do you want? A certificate? Not everyone is as rich in intellect or funds as you Druid… we simply can’t all be as great as you. And are you seriously denying there is a nationwide problem with middle aged, well employed people being unable to afford their mortgage?
nukeproofridingFree MemberWhat you’re doing is discouraging our current crop of students from competing with them
Yeah I think the point is we need a balance of jobs available. You cant just decide that everyone will be a ‘techie’ computer genius from now on. We need a stable manufacturing marketplace that can compete with the EU but provide fair wages, a stable creative industry (we’ve pretty much got that and are world reknowned for that) stable farming, stable service, stable everything job industry. Difficult in a world where the cheapest bowl of rice is still yet to be discovered – mainly africa. But that is where you offer quality over quantity – something Britain used to offer in it’s steel, vehicle and boat building industries but which was lost because Brain dead zombies like thatcher wanted us to be an entirely service based economy. Pseudo intellectual chickens who all got an A* in customer interaction exams, in a steel shed answering phones all day so that she and her family could go hunting, and so her son could fund his various world wide war campaigns.
The point is we need to encourage and support our innovators, but provide opportunities to those who are suited to and want to be skilled labourers, or to have a craft. All our bloody school tests are utter nonesense if you ask me too.
It doesn’t seem that much to ask. I mean, you’ve got time for 2 posts of diversion and 1 of personal attacks, so one example shouldn’t strain you.
Bad quality, slave labour made breeze block.
nukeproofridingFree MemberI’m not going to waste my time trying to change a mind made of breeze block Northwind. Bad quality, made with slave labor breezeblock.
nukeproofridingFree MemberYeah you’re right. Young families being effectively kicked out onto the street by paid thugs is medieval. You pay through the nose for the privilege of being able to then pay the mortgage company more money for a house that might be depreciating in value because few working people can afford to buy a house before they’re 35 or 40.
nukeproofridingFree MemberOne example of this actually happening is all I ask.
Oh bullshit! It happens all the time. It’s a disgusting practice and a thinly veiled excuse for pushing those who are already on the edge even further because large companies know that you don’t have a leg to stand on when you’re that poor in this country. No place for it in a supposedly civilised, 21st century country.
Mortgage owners fall through the gaping cracks in wellfare system because it’s more convenient for government to ignore them by pretending everyone who aspires to own their own home is filthy rich.
nukeproofridingFree MemberOne day someone will wake up and realise – shitting hell, every pound penny and tenner is in one robbing tossers bank vault. I have an inherent problem with banks being a profit making business sector, because they are so integral and fundamentally important to the economy. Can’t they be regulated so that salaries are reasonable and are still reward driven but without sucking every last penny out of the country? I may be wrong but I think they’re beginning to realise that competing with each other to the degree they did in the 90’s is pointless because no one was going to have any money except the banks and then that would be the end of banking. Like a game of monopoly – you can’t carry on playing when one person wins all the paper money without printing more and thus ruining the point of playing the game in the first place.
Ironically enough, whilst they seem totally incapable of installing basic human rights in many of their countries, the Islamic banking system is probably the most well thought out and intuitive i’ve ever seen – at least in parts. In that system you have a reward structure for bankers and brokers, but not at the cost of widespread debt and the disgusting practices we see in our “democracy” where elderly people have their door kicked down by bailiffs for being a month late on their mortgage.
No doubt someone will bollock me for this, but bring it.
nukeproofridingFree MemberThis was bound to happen, and is admittedly pretty funny but at the same time..
Your levels of contrarianism are off the charts captainflashheart.
Their website is clean and looks pretty good. Better than the cluttered, cheesy crap most other bike shops go with.
nukeproofridingFree MemberJotuls are great. One was in the house we bought pre installed. Pretty expensive as above, but just wanted to say – call me a boring sod but its my fav part of the house lol.
Theres nothing quite like a roaring fire this time of year without having to worry about an open fireplace. We have an open fireplace and a cast wood burner in our house, the open fireplace rarely gets used, but the woodburner is always on in the evening this time of year.
Seriously worth the money and they’re dead easy to look after, especially if you are having a straight chimney put in because they’re so cheap to clean.
nukeproofridingFree MemberBF3 and Forza Horizon – bf3 for online – wear a mic and use it properly and you will meet people who want to squad up and win games very quickly but who wont necessarily wear a mic without bumping into people who do.
Forza Horizon for offline gameplay – best driving game i’ve ever played and seriously addictive! And stunning graphically!
nukeproofridingFree MemberIt would be even funnier if you then got bagged and tagged in the middle of the night, put in a van and flown to an Iraqi airbase, then found yourself in one of their “legal technicality containers” that has “Bosnia” written on the side.
The email was funny but it would be even funnier if that email was actually written by a member of the FBI.
nukeproofridingFree MemberMaybe, but they are built in ‘sheds’, and you need to experience the ride. You’ve got to remember just how bad must bikes handled then.
We’re they really all that bad though? Alot of people seemed more than happy to bomb around using bikes with the more traditional saddle seat position.
I truly do respect and love anything built in a shed that provides a solution to a problem but clearly it didn’t stick for a reason? I wouldn’t mind betting alot of people would try one and think it was unrideable. But of course its very subjective so if it felt good to you then thats all that matters.
