I think what you mean is “you and I don’t share the same taste in retro motorcycles”.

Is it just bimmers you dont like or old bikes in general? Don’t get me wrong I don’t like all the classics. Im buying an 08/09 r6 in a month or so.

Love some of those old Bimmers. The utilitarian look that they and Ural have is something not many can compete with in my opinion.

I am new. LOL i’ve never been a member on here before. Oh wait, maybe it was my alter ego? Maybe i’ve been on here in a sleep walk – I apologise for anything my (non existent) alter ego may have done wrong.

Yes I live near London and yes I’ve ridden downhill for about 3 years. Any other questions grand inquisitor?

What he has been forced to finally admit cannot be in any way easy when your entire life is built on a lie. Either he’s being a floss pot or maybe he’s just losing it :/

I wouldn’t think about it any more than you already have. You were clearly not at fault, and if he was injured you would have known about it. Clearly he was off his face or something? As long as you weren’t drink driving which I’m sure you weren’t then you did everything right? You reacted quickly and he walked away… It happens. Don’t stress 🙂

I’m laughing at the new guy bit….

Why’s that? I expressed my feeling that a character assassination on a public thread was wrong. That’s all. 😀

Was very disappointed with the fayre in Bricklane, wont go again.

I think you’ve said enough too. Next time you go to Brick Lane, go with a local… because there is some stunning food around there. You just have to look in the right place. You sound like you would be disappointed at just about anything.

No problem with illegal trails as long as people are courteous and respect other members of public. Boohoo it’s getting busy – so what?

2004? C’mon, it’s no busier since then! The cyclists have been there for years! I’ve been riding up there for 12 years, and the parking is worse now, which I think is driven in part by P&S, making it more a destination, but that’s about it. I pity the residents, the parking of many riders is terrible, but so’s the parking of residents!

First world problems. “we’re upset it’s getting busy because people like riding there so let’s complain about the parking”.

What I personally can’t stand is litter. I couldn’t care less about people making trails as long as it’s not a historically significant area.

In the mean time, who is nukeproofriding? Pretty obviously not new, is he from Poplar, perchance?

Do I have to be somebody to voice an opinion? I’m not allowed to write my thoughts on an advert because i’m not an “accepted” stw insider?

It’s a shop advert, ‘new’ boy.

    Jus’ saying old timer.

It’s not art, there is no soul there, there is no deeper meaning. The world is not made a better place by the existence of this.

It’s not art, but as difficult as it may be to see, there is a deeper meaning. Whether this makes the world a better place is entirely subjective – Unless I missed the memo you dont speak on the behalf of the entire world.

It will make the world a better place for a few in a small way. Then again, there is an element of art or ‘craft’ because you couldn’t make this advert. It was made by highly skilled videographers, designers, make up artists, special effects artists, musicians who are all artists in their own right. It’s just the same as looking at a beautiful old chair, you would probably say it isn’t art, but I would say it can be. Because we have to appreciate the fact it was made by someone with a stunning skill set and a creative outlook, and that that dedication and that craft makes it art if you want it to be.

Recommend me a wallet? Is this for real? Am I hallucinating off my face on Unicorn mushrooms harvested by a wookie?

This is beyond funny… Make sure to buy one that doesn’t clash with your quick release mobile phone holster.

Have a good long think about what you’ve done and if you apologise nicely we’ll say no more about it.

Obviously, things won’t be the same as they were, but we might just be able to tolerate each other.

The force is strong with this one… +10 midichlorians to you.

honestly, I can’t believe how many assumptions have been made in four pages. I’ve inherited a complete fecktard of a salesman who’s been left to his own deceitful devices by my firm who basically have no management. The owner is retired to the golf course and in the space of two months I’ve stepped in to manage £5m of business that has all landed at once and in the process deal with this fella in question.

Welcome to the world of adulthood and thus responsibility. Grow a pair and deal with it the right way. That’s what separates those who are and aren’t “fecktards”. Currently you are just as much the former as your “employee”.

    I see.

All your arguments have now been rendered invalid, on account of you being 14. Now run along, your mum has just said your dinner is ready. Be sure to give her a kiss from me.

Likewise. Dig out your receipts because your sense of humour is broken. Oh, a mum joke. How original, what year are you stuck in? You work for a borough council don’t you? You sound like a barrel of laughs! I bet you have some brilliant parties! Fondu followed by some rebellious pictionary? Oh my!

Unfortunately G.Mick this place is full of fecktards (clearly demonstrated by SOME of the replies to this thread) so I would advise you to take the advice from the helpful genuine posts on here and seek professional help.

You prob don’t want to listen to me though as I have an Xbox too (but am 32 not 14! What was I saying about fecktards…..

Us xbox owners have an inferior dna strain that subjects us to a life of childishness and automatically invalidates everything we say. It’s true.

As much as many people hate to recognise or admit it… Advertising is a cornerstone of our world ‘system’. Even if we return to using those lovely little corner shops, the local butchers and the baker delivering bread after the ringtons tea man has been around with his wicker basket full of biscuits and tea bags (childhood memory) advertising will still be present because we rely on growth and selling things in large quantities to people.

Just enjoy the world for what it is you miserable sods.

    It’s quite well done.
I don’t think advertising/consumerism and producing nice work need be mutally exclusive. 2 minutes in John Lewis normally has me on the verge of going postal and the Christmas consumer rush normally just saddens/annoys me but if something’s well done, it’s well done.

No you’re right it doesn’t need to be mutually exclusive but the fact is that for many creative and talented people, it’s a career not a gamble. This world is full of people who want everything for free, and if you’re making beautiful videos on your own people will enjoy them but no one will give you a penny unless samuel l jackson stumbles upon your video on his ipad and you’re roped in to make his next film. It’s the lesser of two evils and let’s just enjoy the fact we live in a world where we can have great adverts that can serve the purpose of furthering economies (often abused, I know – but lets ignore that for now) and be enjoyable too?

Nukeproofriding, so if we start to talk about bikes in the chat forum, what do we talk about in the bike forum? Cheese? Do you even know where the bike forum is? As you’ve never posted in there? In fact you’ve only ever posted in this one thread!

Now, do the decent thing, what you have been promising to do, and (insert word/phrase of choice here) off. It wouldn’t surprise me if you lot did talk about cheese but maybe anything other than work? I just don’t understand why you all want to chat crap about work and back stab your “employees” or co-workers on a public forum whilst comparing dick sizes in code by boasting about “how long you’ve been the executive staple re-filler at such and such legal firm” that’s all. And in all honesty I only posted more than once in this thread because i’m ill and the ethernet cable for my xbox is broken.

Of course, I could have reported your use of the word “bullshit”, but I don’t feel the need to…..

It’s a chat forum, the Bike forum is the other one.

It’s still a part of singletrackworld, which is… a bike forum. It’s not called “bullshit about your employees on public forum” forum is it. Still can’t believe this hasn’t been taken down.

Is this a bloody bike forum or an “introduce yourself, what car you drive and what your job is” forum. Either you’ve all got tiny dicks or you really love talking about your jobs way* too much. Get off the computer, swing your fat legs over your bicycle and stop ranting about your employees on an internet thread.

3)Why should I resign from my job?? I’ve come on here for opinions as the company I work for have left me in a position because their ‘old family firm’ of solicitors have left me in a position where they won’t give an opinion either way. I thought that the plethora of STW armchair lawyers would have come up with something but instead, just like when someone posts up about BMW, Audi etc the envy mongers come out of their cave’s and start getting personal because they got shit jobs and drive shit cars…….

Because you’re a terrible manager and you appear to have been born without a backbone. Take the bloody thread down and ‘deal’ with it professionally. And this isn’t about envy mongers… i’m pretty sure no one would want to work with you, that’s for sure – It’s about you being a pretentious dick talking about your “employees” (if they really exist) behind their back on a public forum (a bike one too I may add) saying how terrible they are. Ironic really when you’re accusing him of being unprofessional.

    Northwind –

Hmm. This is an accusation that gets thrown around a bit too often on here, but I wonder who else Nukeproofriding is?

‘Who else I am’? What does that mean? Anyway, on topic, OP should take this travesty of a post down and quit his job. Do you all work 10.30 to 4.30 jobs in a council office? Apparently all of us in the private sector are lazy feckers and no one seemed to take offence to that, so you must all be on cushy wages with holidays coming out of your ears and no connection to the real world.

If you’re upset by this thread, don’t bother hanging around….

Probably wont.. 80% of the topics are about ‘old age’ operations people have had, how they can save weight for their ‘race season’ on their on one hardtail or about problems at work. Not my sort of bike forum clearly.

Um…. lots of people have pointed out (rightly IMO) how unprofessional and inappropriate it was to even start this thread.

I didn’t feel I was flogging a dead horse by writing my opinion… so I did. Is that a problem on this forum or?… And if you agree then why is there an issue?

There was me setting up my account to use this forum – and then I read this. You lot are unbelievable. I know this is the ‘chat forum’ but do you all have to be so boring, vindictive and juvenile? Here you are, talking about someones career in public, not by name but in what is probably a libelous manner – what happened to employer employee confidentiality? And then I read “Everyone working in the public sector is “f*ing lazy”? Thats the most hilarious thing I’ve ever read. If this thread is in any way representative of this forums users… I won’t even bother using my account.
