I take it, its a 7 day listing? Only been on for 5 odd hours. Can take a lot longer for the search engine to find it…bloody annoying but thats ebay for you!

Had one of my listings take nearly a day to get found…iirc the Help pages say it can take up to 24 hours 😡

you might ask why he should be allowed to claim any sort of 2nd home allowance while is is living in “grace and favour” premises in Downing Street.

Another vote for Spesh…my Spesh BG Sport mtb shoes have been used every week now for about 8 years and are still going stong (although the tread of the shoe is well worn down but who cares: don’t need tread when you’re clipped in 🙂 )

I’m sure the Enduro will be fine…just coming to terms with you buying a £3k+ bike online without doing much research or trying it 😯 …fair play 😀

Head For The Hills in Dorking

Bit embarrassed as I always go in and rarely end up buying much except for maybe the odd tyre/chainring/brake pads but they are good and reamed the headtube of a new frame for me at very short notice (I didn’t even buy the frame from them but to be fair I was given it as a gift)

    So where’s yours then tom?

    Here’s mine…I guess its retro…

Is the 500g ish difference between the pike and revelation really that noticable? Has anyone ridden both?

Recently went from Rev Air U-Turn QR to Pike Air U-turn Maxle…yes its noticeable but you get use to it and I like the benefit of having the 20mm fork that goes where you want to go when you want to go.

Few years back bought a bike with Truvativ ISIS BB…that lasted months, bought another bike that came with Truvativ GXP…that also lasted months…was going to switch to HTII but read a few stories on the internet about short BB life so just went back to square taper and stayed that way ever since.

Lovely bike with lots of nice bits so why the retro Fox shock?

Fair enough although you did say if you fancy something a bit tougher. In my mind I come from running Mavic 719s so have a 19mm internal rim width which is the same as the 355 (or Arch): I’m running a 2.35″ High Roller with no issue and, given the low profile nature of Stans rims, it lets me run the tyre at a nice low pressure without suffering pinch punctures.

Yep second what tomo says, he’s a business not a charity.

Agreed but the LBS could have ‘rented’ him the shock pump. I know its a bit tight of the LBS but I’d have paid a couple of quid if it was that or a failed cycle. Or paid the LBS to do it for you if he disliked anyone touching his tools

if his boss was always a bit of a grumpy w*nker. That’s my dad he replied

I always repair and, to test them, do what Kev does and leave them overnight pumped up.

If they go at the valve then then get cut up and made into chainstay protectors. Or they could be used for suspension fork mudguards. All very Blue Peter 🙂

    Yep, it is a mistake.

Have a look at this thread for a little while back…http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/north-downs-hard-route

Looking at the actual hard route PDF and given the route is like a figure of 8 intersecting at Ranmore, I’d do the Norbury Park and Box Hill bit clockwise and the Peaslake, Holmbury, Pitch bit anticlockwise.

Hope Pro II on Stans Arch rims would be my preference *

Got to pay for the priviege though as they don’t do Hope Hoops with the ARch which is a shame so you have to go the custom route from somewhere like JRA…lot more money

or if you fancy something a bit tougher, on Flow rims

IMHO the 355 is more than capable for XC duties…running a Hope Hoop 355 front wheel with Pikes on my Prince Albert and its taking everything I can throw at it

Wife and I drove down and voted. Disliked the fact the first party you saw on the form was the BNP but it reminded me why it’s important to get out and vote. Did chuckle when I saw ‘The Roman Party. Ave’. Feel strangely good for having got out and made the effort to vote.

Although I also have the Pike Air from CRC and haven’t yet experienced what you describe, I did have a set of Revs which sound like they had a similar knocking and put it down to this from TFT site…

My U-Turn air fork knocks slightly, what is this?

There’s play in the travel adjust helix. A small amount of play is necessary because if it was tight you wouldn’t be able to turn it, however this can cause a knock. During service, we reduce this as much as possible but it can never be completely eliminated.

    I’d give TFT a ring

Possibly stolen but probably not…I’ve got a 1999 Klein Attiude with old xtr: probably not worth more than a couple of hundred quid now but worth a lot more to me. Bikes get old and lose their value but, instead of ending up on the scrap heap, they end up on eBay or get flogged on as hack bikes or commuters. The lifecycle of a bike 😉

I’d say they were a very good match for the Prophet. Good solid rim and only 10g more than the narrower Mavic 719 rims iirc which are my XC rims.

    Hi Matthew/Middleburn

Was looking at running a 3/32” Uno ring with a 9-speed cassette at the rear: can I use a standard 9 speed chain with the 3/32” Uno ring?

    Cheers”

Nearly ran my first one over last weekend up next to the cricket pitch at Coldharbour…in 15+ years of riding had never seen one.

    nukeproof

I was going top do this and did a bit of research although it never went ahead…you can do 1×9 with Uno rings and you’ll need the 3/32″ chainring AFAIK
