is it worth buying a Crank Brother ISIS BB with the 5 year warranty and hope that they honour it if it dies sooner

Yes…2Pure are very good and will replace (replaced mine FOC and I had lost the receipt)

Calm down; you’re got yourself all excited and desperate…its quarter to 12: how many Supermoto owners do you expect there to be at this time? 🙂

Was alright. Preferred the pilot episode.

Kind of liked the idea that it would be more of a dark sitcom about how they were just trying to live ‘normal’ lives so disappointed they felt the need for a Blade/Buffy subplot about how vampires should rule the world…Yawn.

Apologising, more than one-word answers…What’s going on with Brant? Of late he seems to be…hmmm, how to describe it…’nicer’?!? Its slightly unnerving 😉

Got next week off, rebuilt my Inbred 853 and intend to get out as much as possible around the Surrey Hills as haven’t been out much since Christmas…still, given the amount of rain that has fallen in the last week, I’m a bit concerned the singletrack is going to be a no go 🙁

I bought a Soul at £420; unfortunately it went back due to a defect and no replacement was available. So I bought one of Brant’s 853 Inbreds at £250. My first On-One and, as it was cheaper, I wasn’t expecting the overall finish etc to be as good. Turns out it was better finished in my mind and still the one frame I doubt I’d sell. IMHO I think Cy is lucky that Brant doesn’t put a standard Inbred geometry frame in 853 in his line up.

Having said that, relative to other brands around I think the Hemlock looks to be good VFM at around £1k and is on my new frame wishlist!

My thread was asking if anyone else is experiencing any problems and also that over two months to receive anything is a long time

Fair enough but thats mildly put as opposed to “taking the p*** or what” as your title reads…and you wonder why people may get defensive over a bike shop with an otherwise good rep.

    Not as **** as Iceland

I’m still sticking with the UK; we might be doomed but I’d rather be doomed here than anywhere else.

Have they been stored for a while? Been left not in an upright position? Noticed with my Fox forks and I think my Revs that I could lose the lock out facility if I hadn’t use them for a while but it would be fine after either a few bounces up and down or a short ride.

Loosen caliper/adapter bolts, apply brakes and, whilst holding brakes on, re-tighten bolts.

I have an MSc which was a waste of time from a financial perspective.

As was mine but it was a laugh going back to Uni again 5 years after getting my degree.

Now on embaressing low levels of money but its fairly secure and I quite enjoy it plus the hours are few.

    Thought it was alright.

the recent re-creation is more about the spec effects..

IMHO its a sci-fi movie so I expect special effects and, being a ‘Hollywood blockbuster’, I expect them to be good quality. I’ve seen the original but the special effects are obviously now dated so I don’t find it as watchable and both follow the same basic plot.

I’d like to know what is being defined as ‘scoring’ as some photos I’ve seen of the alleged damage look more like rubbing as opposed to gorges in the metal. My Revs might have lost a bit of finish on the steerer but they are not scored by my definition.

The longest any of the 3 got was 9 years!

IIRC whats makes it even worse is that it will be only 4.5 years before they are allowed to apply for parole. On top of that they’ll have any time on remand included as well. Probably be out in under 4 years.

    Disgusting.

But I lost and had to send him the money back, it seemed to me that the buyer always wins.

Is it always the full amount that has to be refunded?

To me it would seem if the buyer doesn’t want it as they consider it ‘not as described’ the buyer should send it back and get their money back plus expenses, if they want to keep it but consider it ‘not as described’ then the buyer and seller should agree a price reduction. I don’t get this full refund business; if the buyer considers it ‘not as described’ then wins a dispute they get it free? What bollocks is that?

It would have been too much travel, it would have been too much travel, it would have been too much travel, it would…oh bollocks.

Why the f did I cancel my order…and I paid less than you. FFS.

I reckon the seat’s a bit nasty, the bars a tad narrow and the (coil) forks a bit undersprung for my weight

Sounds bang on what the ST review said. Easy enough upgrades though. One of the reason that was putting me off was, although obviously all the bits are good enough to be ridden out of the box, I figure the frame & shock were the only bits I’d probably wouldn’t end up changing

Some good stuff posted…thanks. I’ll go with using a steel and following Stoner’s technique advice.

I kind of expected some gadget/hi-tech wizardary but seems the general consensus is the old fashioned way.

Those of us that can ride fast DH don’t need DH rigs to do it and your comment comes across as a little juvenile.

I take it that this was made at me and not Sonor.

geetee1972…Whoa there, my comment was not aimed specifically in your direction but I could see how it could have been considered such. More an observation that I have seen many bikes up at Holmbury which could be considered borderline DH bikes.

the trails are already more than challenging enough for them and they can’t empathize with those that find them easy and want something more difficult to ride.

Just because they want more challenging trails doesn’t mean its acceptable to make their own trails using the areas around Holmbury Hill. Why can’t they find some other land where its accepted?

Maybe if some of them got off their DH rigs that allow them to float over the existing trails, they might find them a little more challenging? 😉

I thought in the early versions they didn’t come with the plate? I have a set of XT cranks and they never came with them.

Carl blames the government, not the individuals who have come here from countries which are "worse than ours".

IMHO credit to him for not doing the usual knee-jerk response of ‘blaming the immigrants’.

"Gutted. Depressed. Bored. Young people don’t get given a chance."

Sounds stuck in a rut to me but at the end of the day they can only get themselves out of it.

Another vote for square taper. Got some old XT crank arms on one bike and Middleburns on the other, then UN54 bottom brackets for both. They just keep going and, when the BB do go, only cost £15 to replace. HT2 stiffer? Probably but not noticable enough for me to consider swapping.

Mine was going to be delivered this Thursday but, due to circumstances, had to cancel…and I got the Dales deal. Must be going mad 🙁

Still think it might have been overkill for the Surrey Hills though.

    Enjoy yours

Going to go and re-build my 853
