Yep did both index fingers on this scanner thingy the signed a waiver form as my stay was under 6 months.

So you just dont want the UK to do it to foreign nationals even though you were quite prepared to give the data to the US and it didn’t put you off from travelling there?

until i read the list of data they ask for

Which, as per you first post, would be this…
Finger prints, D.O.B, visa type, address, name, unique individual number and data for face detection (photo I assume this means)

All pretty standard data aside fingerprints. Do you say you got fingerprinted going into US? You gave your fingerprints to US immigration then?

I love hardtails and will always have one but also dabble with full suspension and the reason for that is more own limitations: these are that I feel more confident on some technical stuff on a FS and a FS allows me to ride for longer. Some could argue both these points but they are my reasons for having/wanting FS.

Some have said FS is faster but I fail to see the significance of this as speed is relative to the rider only (unless you’re racing). I would not buy a FS to shave time off some downhill as thats not important to me. I go as faster as I’m comfortable whatever bike I’m riding (Its like driving a Porsche and a Fiat Panda: the same noisy and vibration at 60mph in the Panda would be at about 120mph in the Porsche!) and the time taken to get to the bottom is irrelevant as its the fun getting there thats important.

Did you buy another Yeti PP?

What about a Star Destroyer: more roomy for those long haul trips but a pain to park?

TBH the most obvious advice is the more effort you put in on pics and description the more you’ll get. Pic, pics and more pics of good quality…I know I’d bid high if I didn’t have to ‘guess’ at the condition. Be honest and upfront with description: leaving info out will always come back and bite so just get it right in the first place.

Something that can let us explore the other bits of the universe without having to be in stasis for thousands of years…a Millenium Falcon will do; that seemed quite nippy.

That maybe a big carrier but its amazing how small the landing section of the deck looks relative to the F14 sat on it.

Its a kind of ‘bunnies in headlights’ thing were they just stop dead but thats probably better than that thing where both people move the same way, then both move to compensate, then both move to compensate for the compensation etc etc

    I expressed an opinion.

Maybe some PSA threads don’t need opinions…maybe if you felt so strongly you should have started your own thread instead of hijacking this one which was started with the best of intentions

You felt compelled to ‘inform’ everyone about this coming weekend’s ‘festival’.

🙄 could have easily just passed it by…the thread title is fairly self explanatory

I’m going for the Flow over the 355, because it can take a wider tyre more comfortably.

    Fair enough.

What amazed me with the 29er 355s (and probably the other Stans) was how crazy low I could run the tyre pressures and still not pinch flat (I ran mine with tubes)

    nukeproof

TBH why Flow over the 355? I had a set of 29er 355 wheels built up with DT Super Comp spokes and XT hubs for my rigid Inbred 29er….they took everything I could throw at them.

Rudeboy – No. Spitting at a stranger is disgusting and well out of order. CFH did exactly what the first guy did – they spat at a complete stranger.

IMHO RB did put up a fair reasoned post in defensive of OPs actions there and you’re going to have to do better than that rather simplistic one liner as a retort!

Adam as a mountain biker and being gay have you ever suffered homophobic language out on the trails.

I can’t wait for Adam’s reply to see what he does whilst out on the trails to suggest he is gay 😉

It isn’t. But I know when Smee/Glupton is trolling.

Really? Yes I’m aware of Smee/Glupton/zoo thread but nice to see benefit of doubt around here.

Clearly the consensus is CFH’s actions were the right ones. OP starts a thread entitled “Right thing?” question implying some form of debate; failed to see much here and now its just ended in the usual debacle based on quality of forum reputation. 🙄

Flash – ignore Smee, he’s trolling.

Why would it be trolling to disagree with OP? I don’t agree with the OP’s actions but given all the testerone, back slapping and swear filter avoidance on this thread, I doubt voicing a negative response to OP actions is worth it 😐

Language’s evolve and just because it may have been used to mean rubbish in the past, it is now well known to mean homesexual therefore I could see how it may be considered offensive if used in the the manner in which the OP described.

There’s plenty of other words that can be used to mean ‘rubbish’ instead.

I Run one pair of 520 and one of 540….they are both great. Spend the extra if you want but the 520 does the job is easily serviced should you ever need too and if you wreck it your wallet won’t take such a big hit.

    Fashion or function? yor choice

520 vs 540 is fashion over function??? I didn’t realise paying £5 more for the 540s would give me the fashionable option 😉

Anyway, think I’ll go for the 540s over the XTs as I can’t see the difference. Cheers all.

Happy to donate to charities but it might as well be called ‘Celebrity Relief’ rather than comic. Where were the comedians? People off Mock the Week, QI, Buzzcocks etc? Why not have some stand up stuff?

Most of the content like climbing mountains and the Apprentice stuff called have been used on the Children In Need night. Think they need to go back to basics and get the comedy back into Comic Relief

probably better than XT (HG93) imo. Shimano chains seem to snap more and don’t ‘feel as solid’ ime

“That old gem” is off Cancer Research UK’s web site and includes the word possibly

I’m not saying its untrue but its easy to put the word ‘possibly’ in any statment however remote the possibility is. As I said, I believe it to be scaremongering and, if that statistic was accurate, nobody would be able to even go near the horrible stuff.

    Talking of cigarettes…
In the early 1950s, the P. Lorillard Tobacco Company sold over 13 billion cigarettes that contained a type of asbestos called ‘crocidolite’ within their filters. The original Kent brand contained 10mg of asbestos material in each cigarette. Therefore, original Kent smokers inhaled more than 131 crocidolite fibers in each pack of cigarettes.

We have the Dyson handheld cordless one. Got it cheap in the sales as I wouldn’t pay the £100 RRP it was at the time.

Its very good for picking up the odd crumbs etc but the battery life is appalling: can only manage half our Ka car when cleaning it out.
