    T&Cs…

Due to distribution agreements, CalgaryCycleOnline is only able to ship within Canada with the exception of Knolly frames which are available in the Canada and the continental United States.

    @OP – Very nice.

Did have a Superlight last year…it was great bike. I found the frame worked well with the older 100-130 u-turn Revs. I did find the BB low which resulted in a far few pedal strikes though.

    Presta on all my bikes

One thing I do like with presta is the nut that screws down against the rim which helps as it stops the valve pushing downwards when you're trying to get a pump on.

    Cheers for the replies.

It was ordered last week…I paid in full as I assumed that was the norm but just wondered and, not having loads of money, it might have been financially easier if had been some of the money and not all.

Anyone else have any advice on this?

Its a standard run of the mill Giant frame.

I presume that I would be able to cancel before dispatch?

Office Enterprise for £35 (RRP around £450) bargain.

Yep, no doubt a bargain…if it turns up, fingers crossed!

Thanks for the replies as I'm a bit more reassured.

any academic staff used it? is it just for students?

I thought it was for students and their parents (and grandparents iirc)…as soon as you have a kid at even primary school (ie 4 years old!), you can buy from them.

Knowing that footpath, you’d struggle to badly injure yourself on it, if he did, unlucky

TBH when I first read which path he came off on, it wasn’t where I was expecting knowing some of the other stuff around there but it’s still a steep path with plenty of roots and rocks, combine this with a bit of speed and I can see how someone could badly injure themselves.

I ride the paths around there almost every week, normally solo, and don’t give it a second thought so it’s a little wake up as to how much injury could be sustained if I did take a tumble.

Hope the guy is okay and makes a speedy recovery.

Just wanted to add on this thread a recommendation for the RAF Museum http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/ . Took my son to the London one during half term and had an absolutely excellent day and its free! Plus, tucked in the corner, is a Vulcan…superb.

Also the Vulcan will be at the Biggin Hill air fair on the 27th and 28th June

Dug out my rigid v-braked Klein and cycled from Caterham back to Dorking along NDW…at lightening speed (well it felt like it on the Klein). Was great fun but brutal coming down the side of Boxhill (no braking…just deathgrip).

Hope the guy who was injured on Leith is okay 🙁

Sorry to hear this Swadey…hope you’re okay.

Still, at least there is some sympathy on here…well, aside RB pick-pick-picking at your every word 🙄

IMHO clothing is one of those areas of cycling where it really is essential to try before you buy unless you enjoy sending stuff back in the post. Worth paying a bit extra and getting down to your LBS.

FFS, the original poster makes one rather flippant comment about ‘bailing out’ and a few of you are like a dog with a bone waiting to denounce whatever ‘utopia’ he decides to say 🙄

It was a joke FFS. Remove the broom handle from your arse.

I laughed more at BoardinBob’s post than the OP’s post 😀

wiseGEEK: There have been some health concerns about the combination of sodium benzoate and ascorbic acid or vitamin C. When the two are mixed, they can form the chemical benzene, which is carcinogenic.

Now the sun is out I’ve been using them again and find on a 3 to 4 hour cycle I only use 1 dropped in my 2L bladder after about 2 hours. Doing the SDW in a day, I only ever used about 3. I’m a big fan of Nuun and highly recommend them.

BTW I find if I use them from the start, it makes me want to wee which kind of defeats the object.

Unlikely as Rebas went up in travel this year.

    So did Revs

So if travel on the Revs is going up 10mm to 120mm – 150mm for the U-turn version, are Rebas going up to 100mm – 130mm?

Got mine from stif for £45 3 weeks ago.

Well done 🙄 08 model but I doubt there’s much difference. Anyway, so? I’m sure if you anyone scours the web they’ll find it cheaper. However, I got to try it on and still get it cheaper than the majority of places online so I’m happy

Assumed this was cos they were doing badly

From talking to one of the guys in Dorking a while back, it was a change in senior management…they just didn’t see the point of having 6 Bikehut stores relative to 400 odd normal stores

    Nice, very nice

Needs pikes and a bigger back tyre

Hmmm, in the interests of seeing what this might look like, and not some thinly veiled excuse, I suppose I could post a pic of my new PA 😉

    Is the Hummingbird available yet?

Like the look of the Hummingbird for its versitility but, when using suspension forks, it is only 80mm – 100mm recommended and I was hoping I could put a bit more on.

Did like the Bikehut in Dorking and bit the odd few bits in there. Shame its now become a Halfords Express or whatever they call it. Never really had an issue with Halfords as my expectations are never high when I go into one of the stores.

Once married, you can apply for indefinite stay – which costs – but means she can work.

Not quite…you will need to complete 2 years leave to remain as a spouse before being eligible for indefinte leave to remain. You can work in the 2 years.

Personally, if she’s looking for work, just go down the Work Permits route: find a job and then get the employer to applyer for a Work Permit for her. Then go and get entry clearance from the US. Would be specified employment so she could not get a new job without getting a new work permit. Hmmm…this may have now changed due to Points Based though

Just went today…there’s a further 10% of clothes if you get the voucher on line.

Spent a couple of hundred…Flux helmet for £55, Spesh BG Sport shoes for £45, Endura Singletrack shorts for £35. Not massive savings but all added up.

Not normally a fan of Evans but the staff there were pretty helpful and there were plenty around. Pretty popular even going at midday: can’t imagine how crazy it must get at the weekend!

Saw a lovely Cannondale Rush Carbon for £1599…shame it was a small

Agree with some such as D. Attenborough, Frank Sinatra, Will Smith

…although might be strange choice, going to add Stephen Fry.

Disagree with Homer (surely Bender is cooler), Bono, Cantona, J K.

Not doing the L2B this year but, when I have, I tend to look at it as a fun day out: yes there’s loads of people with queues but its not a race so just enjoy the crowds and enjoy having the majority of the roads with no motor vehicles.

Yep, I’m with those that said the Spesh Enduro and the Inbred (although the ‘classic’ white ones), P7, Stiffee and Cotic Soul. Also the Trek 69er (the original orange one with the matching coloured forks). I also reckon the Hummer and the ti456 (still youngish but will eventually be a modern classic imho). Also Orange 5 and SC Superlight.
