 So far nobody has posted the same suggestion twice. As I say: buy one, any one. I’ve got a PA and an Inbred and I’d be happy with either.

@ Rockplough – Nice one. Good to here you got them sorted. Fingers cross they stay working :D

I’m a bit confused because the old seals looked ok

Wonder if they would have worked again if you’d drained off the oil from the uppers and lowers and then put the right amounts back in :?:

@ TJ – tbh I’m not up on regs etc but I might try emailing them and confirming

Interesting read that site Horatio. Shame about the unauthorised design change on the axle. Not wishing to low the tone but this stood out…

This huge fluid intake also meant a huge output… We rigged up a special condom connected to a metre-long tube to provide relief for Andy without having to stop. The tube exited the Windcheetah at the rear of the fairing. 8O

Let all the air out and cycle the forks. If the damper oil has leaked into the leg, your fork will not get full travel

Just had a chance to give this a go: having let all the air out of both chambers, I compressed the fork and can only get about 95mm of travel before it bottoms out. The bottom out point felt more like a clunk and a physical barrier to any further compression.

My service kit is due to arrive today so I’ll let you know how it goes, no problem.

    Good luck :D

Just spoke with I think Paul at TFT and he’s confirmed its probably the same for mine. Nice chap, very helpful.

Got a response from CRC including…
We can only refund this postal cost if the product was faulty within our 30 days return period.

Recorded delivery back to CRC is going to be the same as the Moco kit :(

As long as you have the receipt you can give them to your LBS to send,

Can’t help but think it doesn’t seem right to take forks into an LBS you’ve not bought them at and expect them to deal with the issue. Aside goodwill, what does the LBS get out of the arrangement?

Surely if you’ve fiddled about with them it invalidates your warranty?

Be interesting to know the answer to this particularily as we’re all expected to strip down and service are forks every 15 odd hours.

@ Votchy – I know what you’re saying but retro83 sums it up well :D

@ Rockplough & Spence – Can you let me know how you get on? Be interested to here how the issue gets resolved

Thanks all…emailed CRC: I’ll see what they suggest to resolve the problem

All in, it took the buggers nearly six weeks to sort mine out and when they came back, they’d forgotten to rectify one fault and they were leaking more oil than when I sent them away.

Yeah, this is what’s concerning me. :?

Really you need to speak direct to CRC and ask them direct.

Mmm but after scienceofficer’s post, I hope you can see why it’s tempting to take the DIY/LBS/TFT route as it might be more of an issue to resolve with CRC than the inconvienence of just dealing with it myself. Having said that, after RicB post I’m concerned its more than just a case of topping up the oil.

I think 8 weeks is too soon for a fork to fail unless you’ve been doing big jumps on them.

No big jumps so I’m disappointed they have developed a faulty so soon but at the same time these things happen and it’s how well/quickly its dealt with that concerns me really.

if not ask CRC to take them back for a warranty inspection and resolution.

Anyone know if CRC do it themselves or is it direct with Fisher? Any idea how CRC are with warranty stuff?

Thanks RicB. TBH it certainly doesn’t feel like there is any change when the compression switch is rotated and it is certainly not giving that lockout feel when rotated fully…guess it could be the seal. :( Yeah, guess a call to TFT might be an idea.

Superlight may not be super light (although OP didn’t specify whether lightweight was a requirement) but it is a very versatile bike particularily twinned with 100 – 130 travel adjust forks like last years Revs. Personally though I found the BB height a bit low for rocky/rooter bits.

Just because your old passport will not be valid as a travel document does not necessarily mean the visa has to be in the current passport. I’m not entirely sure on this, but worth asking the question.

Depends on the IO at port. Some can be quite difficult over this if you leave it too long. It use to be that an IO could transfer NTL into your new passport at port instead of submitting an NTL application.

don’t really understand that as we’re in the EU right?!

Yeah but she sounds like she’s got ILR and having ILR doesn’t give you UK citizenship rights…to France, Germany etc she’s still a Chinese national

Are you likely to remain in the UK long term? If so I’d say it might be worth it. If you do leave the UK for over 2 years you’ll have to re-apply for ILR before you re-enter…well, out of country so ILE.

Do sympathise as the costs are very high these days…5 odd years ago it was £135 regardless of the application NTL, TOC, SET, FLR etc and I was annoyed when my passport cost £70

Have you tried no grease? My square taper cranks squeaked so I took the cranks off and cleaned the axle and square fitting on the cranks with White Lightening aerosol degreaser and re-fitted. They’ve been fine since.

I was a Uni and after a night out we end up back at some student digs: myself and a mate were sitting at each end of a sofa talking whilst a girl we only just met sat in between. We were chatting about a friend’s new girlfriend and I remarked that I’d heard “she had a fit body but the face didn’t match”. After I’d received a pint of beer over my head we realised who the girl in the middle of the sofa was

so if those in the cortege want you to keep behind, and not overtake, then they aren’t respecting you.

Why’s it all about ‘respect’ these days? If there are people mourning the death of a loved one, I would think its fair to cut them some slack and accept a certain amount of ‘disrespect’.

How important is “getting on with getting on” to you that you can’t sit peacefully in your car for a couple of minutes reflecting of the temporary nature of life, instead of just looking at it as a major inconvenience in your 24/7 21st century “must happen now” lifestyle…

    Chill.

Had a Hamax seat for my kids and, whilst it seems a solution to the problem (distance between the seat and rear tyre was less than 10cm iirc when I ran the seat on my small Klein frame which lead to a bit of noise over harsher bumps), I’d never have risked attaching to the seatpost just from the horrific thought of what could happen to my kids if the seatpost did fail.

Neda never set out to be a martyr: her boyfriend has said that she was with her music teacher when she briefly stepped out of the car, only to become caught up in history. Yet she is already on her way to becoming Iran’s Joan of Arc,

In tragic instances like this I’m always a bit uneasy how the person, who can now not speak for themselves and give consent, is turned and used in the media. It does not look like she was involved in the protests, yet has become the central symbol in these events

Are there any Hummingbirds in that shipment Sam? Saw the website recently and it was mentioned about pre-orders but I seem to have missed whether this was for the HB.
