Thanks for the feedback on the Dissector.
I’ve been running a 2.6 High Roller2 / Rekon 3c Exo combo over the summer as they came stock on my bike.
I was convinced I would be swapping them straight out – but set them up tubeless & gave them a go, tbh have got on great with them once I ran them at low enough pressures.
Was thinking ahead to when things get a bit wetter – will probably stick with the 2.6 HR2 on the front & see how that performs, but need to swap out the Rekon.
Was thinking of the Dissector as a faster rolling alternative to a DHR2 & also thinking of sticking with 2.6 as I’m liking it so much presently, but maybe 2.4 is a better choice for the mud??

Anyone have experience of running a Dissector 3c Exo+ as a rear winter tyre?
If so 2.6 or 2.4 width?

Sorry I don’t have an opinion on XT 4 pots (as never owned any), but would be interested in buying your G2RSC’s if you’re selling when (if) you upgrade.

    Glad you enjoyed it.
Seems a while since I watched the last episode – looking forward to the nest season whenever that may be?

Whytes seem to avoid this though. Something like a nice spec 901 or 801 isn’t much more expensive than an optimistically priced Boardman or Voodoo, but seem to benefit from sensible spec, much more progressive geo, modern standards and typically 1x.

    What’s the catch?

No catch – I know which brand I would be going for.
More recent bikes seem to have dropped the matching flouro colour schemes & are spot on in terms of “modern geometry” without being excessively (unecessarily) long/low/slack.
I would never dismiss a bike based on the image of previous models – if you can get a relatively new Whyte for a good price, then great.
Listen to the opinions of people who have ridden the recent bikes & then decide.
I found the newer models held their price well, when looking recently – maybe it is more model specific?

I’ve been using Oko Offroad Vehicle Sealant (diluted 50/50 with water) – seems to work well in my Maxxis 2.6 tyres.

How are the Sleuth DLX in terms of size – should I be going a size (or half) larger than my actual shoe size?

Oh yes & get a pump up garden pressure sprayer that can spay a fine mist.
Keep spraying this around & will keep the dust down.

You can do a full height chase in about 15 mins with my method.

Hold the conduit on the wall & pencil mark a line down each side.
Get a drill with a 5mm bit & a depth gauge & drill all the way down the pencil lines at about 3″ centres (or a bit less than the width of your bolster).
Go down the line of holes with a club hammer & (sharp) bolster to cut a line through the drill holes – most of the plaster / masonry will then come away.
Tidy up the chese with your bolster from each side of the chase.

If you drill the holes you will keep the chase tidy, if you just bolster the line chances are a lot more plaster will come off the wall, especially in an old house!

Above assumes it is a masonry wall with plaster finish – if lathe & plaster on timber then you can dothe same, but don’t drill as deep & don’t wack as hard with your bolster!

I recently picked up some RaceFace Atlas pedals from the Classifieds & am mightily impressed with them so far – so much grip & very light, can’t comment on the life of the bearings yet!

The standard Agricultural OKO is the one I’ve been using. It’s about £10 for a litre, which has lasted about 2 years so far …

    I’ve got a bottle of this :-
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Linseal-OKO-Tyre-Sealant-1-Litre-Used-for-Ride-On-Mowers-Other-applications/333243187053?epid=1523197691&hash=item4d96d77f6d:g:14QAAOSwAkZer9AW

How much of the diluted solution do you typically use – i’m running 27.5 x 2.6 Maxxis tyres?

I’m tight. I water down OKO off-road/agricultural sealant.

I’ve got a bottle of the OKO Offroad Sealant to try – how much water do you dilute it with?
Or maybe it needs diluting with something else so it doesn’t dry up?

Get a stem with a rise on it, you will probably get a 20 degree rise on a 60mm stem.
If you went for a longer stem you will probably get a greater angle & overall height.
Try & roll the bars forward a bit, may also get yourself some additional height.

Yes keep going, it gets better – they are all nasty (but great) characters.
Have watched both seasons – I think the show is superb & really something that I would not normally watch.

The Bike Yoke Divine droppers that Whyte are now fitting to their bikes can have the travel adjusted by adding plastic spacers inside to customise the height.

Pretty much concur with the above.
We have 2 Manrose fans serving bathrooms & are excellent, both with insulated ducting within roof space (no condsensation trap) & venting through a gable wall rather than roof tile.
Fairly long horizontal duct on one (5m approx) & works great – put the fan as near to the outside air as possible, that way it is sucking moist air rather than pushing it out.
I have both fans mounted on a ply deck that is fixed to the ceiling joists with anti vibration fixings, a bit like these :-
    Anti Vibration Fixings
All you can hear in the bathroom is the sound of the air being sucked out!
We have round (white aluminium) ceiling diffusers a bit like the ones already mentioned.

    Hi Doug,
    My current frame is :-
    Reach – 409mm
    Stack – 577mm
    ETT – 587mm
    Seat tube – 381mm
    Chainstay – 426mm
The bike is too small for me now, as you will see from the numbers & an XL Occam maybe too big of a jump up from what I have been used to for a good few years.
Been locked away at home for a long time, but have to do some travelling with work middle of next week – so i’m hoping I might be able to get to an orbea dealer somewhere on my journey.

I’m seriously considering purchasing a 2020 Occam, but a bit unsure on sizing.
I’m 6′ & looking at the size chart am between sizes – was thinking Large, but the Occam has a steep seat tube angle, so not sure if it will be long enough.

I’ve always preferred my bikes to be a bit small rather than too large & I’m currently riding an old school 26’er Banshee Wildcard (medium – low & fairly slack, but not very long), that does feel too short for me now i’m pedalling more than out of the seat!

I’m probably not going to be able to get a demo or car park test, so any advice on sizing from people who’ve ridden the bike would be appreciated.

What’s people’s thoughts on the Tudor Black Bay 58? I’m thinking of the brown leather strap. I’ve got a fair few watches but nothing similar to the Tudor. I really like and am very tempted, but I’m also being drawn to some others. Won’t be buying until the end of summer (birthday).

Get on W00dster they are really great watches.
Had my BB58 for a year now & still love how versatile it is – I would recommend getting it on the bracelet.
I removed the bracelet & put mine on a great looking leather strap when I first got the watch – loved it for a few months, but fancied a change & put the bracelet back on.
No contest the bracelet is staying put, it suits the watch so well & i’ve never really been a fan of bracelets.

If it’s tablets that you are giving to your cat then get some of these :-

Vivi Treats are meant for dogs but cats can’t get enough of them!
They a designed to conceal medicine – chop ’em up small, mould round the pill, give the cat a dummy one first, then the real one with pill inside.
A cattery recommended to us & I was sceptical having had similar experiences of our cats not taking tablets.
We used these twice a day on 2 cats for a few years & never once failed.

For £100, I managed to get some decent ’06 SID World Cup forks for my daughters 24″ bike.
They are 26″, but A2C is exactly the same height as the 24″ Zoom forks that were on it before + the bike is now 1kg lighter on the front end, as well as having some forks that actually work with a lightweight rider.
Also gives you the option of putting a nice light 26″ wheel up front, if your daughter grows a little.
I appreciate that eBay is silly at the moment, but put up a wanted ad in the classifieds – you never know.

I’m tempted to use one of these CTW schemes, but not being the actual owner of the bike for 4 or 6 years with some schemes, bothers me – not sure I wouldn’t be looking for an upgrade / replacement long before then!

What if you want (or need) to sell the bike after the initial salary sacrafice period, but during the £1 extended loan period?
Anything to stop you selling, would anyone (HMRC) ever know??
