Are you sure you can have 3m eaves at 2 m from boundary? A few years ago when I did mine I think it was 3-2.4m on mono pitch and 4-2.4m on dual pitch roof within permitted development. This may have changed though.
This is correct – although it is 2.5m & not 2.4m.
There is a maximum height of eaves of 2.5m, regardless of distance to boundary.
This is the Permitted Development Guidance :-

I was thinking of buying one, not as an investment, but in the hope of not losing much and to pass it on in the future.
I have owned a BB58 for getting on for 2 years & is a great watch.
Not a cheap watch but great value – not much gets close to it in terms of spec & finish for the money.
I took mine off the bracelet when purchased & had it on a really nice leather strap for a while, but put it back on the bracelet after a few months & has stayed that way since.
The bracelet is great, super comfy & looks so good on the watch – a lot of talk about fake rivets (which is not generally by owners of the watch), but they are barely noticeable when wearing.
I personally prefer the original black/gilt model, the blue on does nothing for me.NSFree MemberIs that Catolf Hitler?
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/MW4x-K24JIQ/hqdefault.jpgNSFree MemberThis morning I have just negotiated an upgrade deal with EE :-
Samsung Galaxy S20 5G
24 months
Unlimited texts/calls
10Gb data (+ 3Gb bonus)
£27 / month & no upfront cost for phoneCould have taken 40Gb data for £29 / month – I wouldn’t be able to achieve this monthly cost if buying a phone separately & going sim only.
EE originally offered same deal at £33 when I requested a PAC code, but got to speak to Retention Dept. today & they knocked £6 off per month.
NSFree MemberI had that problem previously.
Try & update the bluetooth driver in the device manager (I think).
If that does not work then remove the bluetooth driver & restart the machine – the driver will be reinstalled & the bluetooth button back where it should be.
Good luck.NSFree MemberBe careful of how good the Sky Mobile deals look.
They are what is called Swap24 – essentially a 36 month loan deal with the chance to swap phones after 24 months.
You would not own the phone after 24 months, but can send the phone back & start a new Sky Mobile contract at this point.
If you want to own the phone you need to complete the entire 36 month contract.NSFree MemberI don’t necessarily need a contract / new phone, but maybe useful as my daughter is after a phone so could hand down my old handset. Sure I could sort her something out if I don’t get a new phone though
Any experience with Wifi calling on Sky Mobile? My home & work are both pretty poor on most networks so we rely quite heavily on wifi calling.
NSFree MemberI have now had 2 visits to the trauma centre / faracture clinic + an ultra-sound scan.
The upshot is that I have totally ruptured my UCL ligament & possibly also damaged the radial ligament, but my tendons & joint are OK.I spoke to the consultant orthopedic surgeon today & definately need reconstructive surgery, as won’t heal without it. He has told me that I should expect to have total “normal” use of my hand again within 6 weeks of the procedure.
I know he’s the expert, but from previous experience does anyone know if 6 weeks is about right & should I expect to be back on my bike then, or is “normal” just using a knife & fork rather than full on mtb trail riding?Have a good weekend everyone.
NSFree MemberIf anyone sees a black Friday deal of 20% or more off a new seamaster diver 300, the white dialed, black bezel version. Please please shout out. Wife may well not be happy…. But I might 😆
20% off with code BLACKFRIDAY – so £3560 (£890 saving).
Don’t tell your wife that I told you!NSFree MemberI am…………..
Have some very good trails not too far from me, been great to get out there as much as possible since lockdown in March.
“At least I can go out on my bike if I can’t do much else”, I was thinking as we headed towards Lockdown 2.0 – day before lockdown I had An Off & have torn my UCL thumb ligaments.
So now I am definately getting biking withdrawl symptoms, as well as visiting hospitals far too much for my liking!NSFree MemberThe OP is in the Surrey Hills…
No such trails in the Surrey Hills then??
NSFree MemberAss-Dissector is what you need!
I run 2.6 Assegai up front & 2.6 Dissector rear both EXO+ MaxTerra – I find them ideal for steep, rooty, technical trails & so far very good for winter, though the trails I usually ride are not usually too boggy.
For trails you will not notice the extra drag of an Assegai so much on the front, but on tarmac you probably will.
If it were me I would try the Dissector up front before investing in a new tyre.
Also work on your cornering technique – elbows out / pedals level / heels down – the front will grip & the rear will follow.I agree with nobeerinthefridge – you will ride faster & smoother with a grippy tyre on the front.
NSFree MemberCan you touch your thumb to the tip of each finger
Can you touch your thumb to the top of your little finger to make a loop, then stop a pencil from separating the loop..
If not then it might be torn or snappedThanks for this info.
I can touch all fingertips with my thumb, although painful when doing the little & ring fingers & can actually stop the pencil (which surprised me!) – has given me hope that I may not have any tear (fingers crossed).I seem to be able to grip stuff if I keep my thumb straight, but with the knuckle(s) bent then my thumb joint folds instead of bracing aginst the pressure.
I have another session with the physio tomorrow and I should be getting some further strengthening exercises. I hope to be back riding in a couple of weeks but I will be taking it easy this time!
Thanks for sharing your recent experience & best of luck – sounds like you are well on the way to being back on your bike.
NSFree MemberThanks for sharing your injuries & all the info – really hoping I have just stretched by ligaments rather than any tear, but there is a lot of sideways movement in my joint.
Really gutted to have done this, but at least it isn’t my right hand!I seem to be able to still hold a can of beer & tv remote, but unfortunately not a washing up brush!
bigblackshed – those pics look horrendous!
NSFree MemberBeen trying to come up with an idea for our son’s 13th birthday – this could be an option.
Don’t know too much about the Raspberry Pi – what sort of stuff could he do on it with an electronics project kit?
Anyone got kids who use these??
Thanks.NSFree MemberA lot of negative comments.
I could be wrong, but maybe opinions should be based on how the Whyte bikes ride, not just how they look (which is pretty subjective).
It does look like they’ve slapped £500 on top of a lot of the 2020 models though!NSFree MemberThe plug’s in, remember?
That’s good or else there would be a toad in the hole.
NSFree MemberKeep a toad in your kitchen sink overnight, just in case of stray slugs – tied to the sink with the ball chain from the plug. Should work a treat!
NSFree MemberI’m on a 2020 T-130 & have just switched out the 27.5 x 2.6 HR2 & Rekon that came on the bike.
They were pretty good over the summer, but have not been great since things got a bit damper.
I have been running a Maxxis Assegai (front) & Dissector (rear) for a couple of weeks now, both 27.5 x 2.6 MaxxTerra Exo+ & are a significant upgrade IMHO – I run them at a lot lower pressure than you, but am not that heavy.
The Assegai is not noticably slower rolling on the front & the Dissector is like a more aggressive version of the Rekon & seems to roll fairly well on the rear.
Not ridden in real slop, but both seem to clear mud pretty well – plenty of grip on the steep, natural, technical, rooty, loamy trails that I ride.
You could also try your HR2 on the rear & buy another front tyre as an alternative?NSFree MemberI’ve go one of these (size M I think?) hanging in a cupboard if you’re interested – not been used for quite a few years.
NSFree MemberBosch is very good.
Ted Lasso on Apple TV is also good for more light hearted / feelgood TV!NSFree MemberGo to the YouTube clip, find ‘share’, then ‘copy link’. Then just paste on here

NSFree MemberI picked up a new bike in July that came fitted with a 2.6 Rekon Maxx Terra Exo – was a great fast rolling rear tire over the summer on trail centre tracks & pretty good on steep / rooty / loamy trails but could spin out a bit on technical climbs.
When the natural trails started to get a bit damper the tread clogged very easily with pine needles & would spin out badly on climbs, also wasn’t great on wet roots.
I have just switched to a 2.6 Dissector Maxx Terra Exo+ – tread looks like a more aggressive version of a Rekon with bigger, wider spaced knobs. Only had a couple of rides on it so far but seemed to put right the issuses I was having with the Rekon on steep technical trails.NSFree MemberSeparate cable(s) to each outlet from your hub / router – you can’t daisy-chain them.

11 Bikes From Leogang DH WC 2020NSFree MemberYou could crush up a pack of Digestives?
Gingernuts taste way better than Digestives as a base in Key Lime Pie.
NSFree MemberI picked up a couple of really nice Dakine MTB Jerseys from SportsPursuit, but got the sizing a bit wrong – was expecting them to come up a bit small, but they didn’t!
If amyone also bought a Dakine Syncline Long Sleeve Jersey in Slate Blue Stripe & needs to swap their medium for my large – then please let me know.
Also have a Dakine Long Sleeve Thrillium Jersey (Dark Olive) in size large – that I may swap if someone has a medium in the same jersey – may keep this one though as it isn’t quite as big on me.
NSFree MemberThe postman has just delivered me some Dakine Thrillium trousers – they were £45 (60% reduction) from SportsPursuit.
Can’t say how they perform yet. but they look very good, tough but fairly lightweight & waterproof fabric with some breathable panels.
A steal at that price – think the discount reduced to 50% soon after I bought them though?NSFree MemberSorry to drag the thread up but has anyone else found the Dissector a bit fragile?
What casing is the tyre??
NSFree MemberAs above – work down to the pressure that suits & then only turn to inserts (or burlier tyres) if you feel the need.
NSFree MemberI picked up some Dakine gear (incl. Thrillium Pants) a couple of days ago from SP & all the prices went through checkout as originally listed.
Looks like all the demand from STW has triggered a price increase!
Beware that for some items the pictures don’t match the actual colours stated in the descriptions.NSFree Member2.6 is too small – I also have the same Maxxis combo in 2.6 and have shelved them.
TheGhost :-
If you are thinking of selling your 2.6’s drop me a PM, as I may be interested in buying them.
Would have PM’d you, but can’t seem to get it to work!NSFree MemberI always wear Vans – grip is great, super comfortable, waffle soles do wear but not significantly & plenty stiff enough in the sole for me.
I have been wearing these for a while :-
Vans – Berle ProAnd have recently bought these for when things get a bit wetter :-
Vans – Dennis Enarson Old Skool Pro BmxGet them in the sale & you can buy 2 pairs for every pair of Five Ten’s.
NSFree MemberIf you want more mid stroke support & the bike to ride higher in the travel, then you need a Meg Neg.
Meg Neg is a larger negative air can that allows you to run higher pressures without losing suppleness of initial stroke.
The volume spacers just ramp up the end stroke to avoid bottoming out & if you put too many in you may struggle to achieve full travel.NSFree MemberAnother vote for Hydrapak bladders – very easy to fill clean etc & don’t leak.
NSFree MemberI’ve been using the OKO Offroad Sealant for a few weeks in 2.6 Maxxix tyres & seems fine.
I diluted 50/50 with water – I am losing about 1.5 psi a week from the tyres, maybe I have diuted a little too much??
