I bought a box load from superstar for a fiver a pair last month. Purely down to the fact they were a fiver. Use hand gel re covid hand gel to fit. Once dry they don’t budge.
    No difference to bolt on.
However I possibly needed to do some maintenance the other night and as slip on I didnt. This is the issue.

Put it in the smallest gear 1st. Wind all the tension off and then wind one turn back on. Thread cable and pull just so the tension is just on. Do up. Should be about 95% there. Adjust accordingly.

I believe it’s a throw away. One model isnt serviceable. However it has two slots down inside which you can modify a socket with a grinder to get it off. Either way once off it’s dead anyway. At the .most packjit with grease and keep as a spare. It’s the main reason I never buy Easton anymore.

I have a Sonder Brokenroad and Frontier. Two price ranges and both great bikes for anything use especially packing. Ride a frontier 1st is my suggestion and maybe save a grand.
Also highly recommended are the guys at Travers. TI stuff isto die for and stock was good recent. Also drop a travers XC prong carbon fork into mine which also was a total game changer.

I use both Hunts and Superstar. No issues with either.
FYI. Annoyingly I bought the Hunts as everyone in the press slagged off the love mud OE wheels for being heavy as ****. The press also said how good the Hunts were. 320 grams difference between the two in favour of the Hunts doesn’t make the love mud heavy. Totally shit name but not that heavy.

Plus 1 on the rigid. Have 2 HT and I swap out a Travers XC Prong. I think it’s an age thing as just live it. Nothing better than passing the FS flatout with your teeth shaking out.
In relation to the FS, if I ever do it I would go very short travel super light. I’m similar to yourself, I cant get myself to make the jump.

I make all my own bags. So simple to do and all will fit perfectly.
All material, zips, velcro everything come from pro fabrics in the uk. Aim for Cordura or XPac material. As long as not mass producing any machine will work. I did treat myself to a new HD machine though. Trust me, you can do it.
    Alternatively use Alpkit.

Yes but mix your sealant properly. I use hunt wheels and currently GP5000. Stans and a small amount of OKO agricultural sealant for the fibre in it. Generally without some fibre behind it you wont seal a hole with 90 psi behind it.
Worse case it will spit some fluid at you until it seals.
Been a tyre fitter for 33 years so I guess I should know what to do.

Tf for spares but rarely do you need any apart from new oil and a good clean.
No more than two hours. But yes 1st time you panic about oil levels etc but take your time and keep everything spotless and re-oil everything.
For Rockshox everything oil level wise is online.
I started on forks with motorbikes ad
AND in general all are the same unless USD (UP SIDE DOWN).

You don’t know mrs oab’s inside leg do you?
Unless the top tube is dropped it would be an xs for mine. As always stock is the headache.
Cube also do a junior model which could work.

    Cheers all.
Frame now is 15″ and to big as her leg size is for approx 4ft 11″. Veey short legs for height so had been looking at the trek as sized 13.5″. No stock to sit on though.

Be warned everyone. Legs are bad luck I expect but ears must be common thinking about it.

I’ve been in the car, truck and agri tyre game for 34 years.
I cant walk passed anything without guessing what it is or watching films and commercials and checking out sidewalls and tread patterns.
Movies when they gather the tyre patterns in murders etc. Nigtmare.

Lol so not just me then.
Now home and the wife is in nurse mode.
    No pictures sorry.
Can confirm that the surgeon has removed all hanging off and any other flesh that would not had survived.
Has removed the nail as half of it was removed by the disc anyway.
Stitched internally and externally back together.
He asked if I wanted to watch which was ironic as I was sweating and shaking like I was possessed with the plague.
I declined but he asked again if I wanted to photo the finished job and also the debri. I again declined but feel sort of guilty now as so many asked for images!
And also tip of finger the bones or bone isnt salvageable but at the very least they are still the same length.
    Great service as always.
Wife is now running me a bath so I asked for assistance which was swiftly followed by the offer of a plastic bag for my hand.

    Yep as Bazz says.
If you are only riding 15 miles 4 times a week at 1600 ft climbing then it’s no different than a commute with some hills in it.
If its stamina you wont then it’s big miles at slow and fast pace. Both are as important. Plenty of programmes to follow which are really down to you to throw everything at.
Road is easier just to clock the miles and hours but rattling 50 miles out XC is also great fun.

    No issues with it.
I also use OKO agricultural which I mix with stans to add some fibre into it. Use this mix for the road bikes also as the fibre will work with the high PSI.

Travers bikes. Look at the travers XC Prong. Not cheap but not expensive. Best item I’ve purchased in years.

@lillski74 Yes came on 29. Run the standard love mud wheels from new 2.5 front 2.4 rear and all good. I bought a pair of Hunts as everyone moaned about the weight of the love mud. Total toss on the weight. All the excess sat in the front wheel and only 300gms diff in the Hunts.
On the hunts a run 2.25 and with the carbon fork in it’s under 11kg.
It runs fast. It’s stiff when you need it but very comfortable.
Rack up big miles fast or slow.
Best all round bike I’ve ever owned.
I would take the custom option and cut the rear rack mounts off.
Get over to a shop and test one.
On the 2.5tyre side. I’m 50 years old. Its gotta be skinny tyres and 50psi for me until I rode this. 20 psi is a whole new world.

I went to buy a highball but no bikes to test.
Prior to this I went to buy a Signal TI from Neil in Alpkit Nottingham and bought a frontier instead. Random.
    Great bike though.
After being told I had to just buy the highball I called Neil and he said pop over. I had all intentions on buying a Signal. Got the frames out but settled on the BrokenRoad.
Ive ridden for years, ride anything g and everything. I also travel and the BrokenRoad does everything. Packed, loaded, xc for miles, it’s been up and down yorkshire dartmoor and everywhere else.
I bought a second pair of wheels so two sets of rubber, and also a Travers xc Prong rigid carbon fork to get it down to 10KG when you want some fast xc or quick road.
Love it, best thing I ever bought.
Signal looks lovely apart from the top tube to seat tube join. Hate it
Main reason I didnt buy it.

Sonder Brokenroad in TI is off the shelf excellent at everything.
I also own a Sonder Frontier which is so cheap its ridiculous and a great track slayer and packer.
Alpkit are also a dream to deal with.

My rigid frontier in xl comes in at 11 kg. Very light and packs well as front triangle is massive. £799 brand new. New model has bolt through axles which is better but slightly dearer now.

    You mean Thetford?
As you walk up the inside of the complex with the log cabins on your right and the perimeter fence on the left. Look the other side of the fence and you will see a track. ride down there and keep turning right and this will in about 8 miles of double track take you to the visitor centre.
Alternatively jump in the car and head to:
Thetford Forest, High Lodge, Brandon IP27 0AF and park then pick any of the 4 routes.
None are hard or down hill or up hill as its norfolk but if you ride it quickly it can be very pleasing buddy. Its very demanding as its peddling non-stop. blue average 13mph and reds perhaps a little slower is achievable for a good workout.

@gastromonkey sorry mate never logged in. Absolutely love it. I’m 48 and ridden all my life and just love the simplicity of it. Very comfy and can ride anything. Packs well also and I run heavy.
I’m off to hathersage peak district on it for a few days soon to give it a good hiding haha.
Also alpkit have had it at under £800 recently. Buy one.

Great event. You will enjoy it. It’s fast and flat excluding 3 hills. Loads of Thames path etc.

Lightest fastest bike. skinnier tyre The better.

All is very relevant till it rains.

    Enjoy.
