My suspiscion is that the verge is considered part of the road and therefore belongs to the council and you cannot put rocks on it – but I may be wrong.
Years ago I was going down a country road and huge tractor appeared around the corner I was approaching and forced me to go onto the verge which had been decorated with rocks.
That cost me about £400 for two new tyres and a new alloy wheel for my Volvo V70

If I’d known about the verge ownership thing then I’d have taken him to court

I remember my brother done a similar thing. In my dad’s brand new company car 8O.

Just an itch at the moment so not sure of budgets. Had a new bird aeris last year so will have to tread carefully with the other half :-) not sure if I can say the new kitchen just being fitted is hers so I want a new bike

Done it almost every year! So much easier just sorting your self out instead of people messing you about.
Been with trail addiction in the Alps and singletracksafari to Andorra

Not a surfing convert but windsurfing. A few of us from brogbrough lake started heading over to Woburn on the light wind days. Moved to the northwest (closer to the coast) but now married (happily) I’m just a summer holiday windsurfer now.
Still got all the kit other than a winter wetsuit keep having the sell it or use it argument.
As others have said it’s easier to keep the family happy with a half day away on the bike than a full day chasing wind n waves that may never be found

The stop cock nearest isn’t always the correct one. My last house had water meter/stop cock in the pavement outside my neighbours house his was outside mine. Queue lots of cock ups with water bills and meter readings

Wera ones are what I use at work, nice and distinctive no one can thief them.
Sleeves can come loose but a bit of tape around the shaft sorts that

Tried to only wash when really dirty. I was always under the impression
Dirt blocks the micro holes and stops the moisture getting out and washing breaks down the coating that keeps the rain out
