A tonne is almost always a tonne bag rather than a tonne weight. If they sold by weight then the better quality (drier) it was, the more they’d have to give you.
I’m like you – surrounded by forestry but it is all really pricy. The other day I got a delivery of “seasoned” wood and some of it still had green ivy growing up it.
I think it is down to who you know.

If we stopped eating palm oil and switched to something else, say coconut oil, then demand for that would rise and it would become a major cause of deforestation. Just because a product has lower global production doesn’t mean it has a lower environmental footprint in per capita terms.(personally I avoid palm oil because products containing it tend to be not very nice)

We should add here that this is also the view regarded as more correct by the Council of Senior Scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In their book al-Buhooth al-‘Ilmiyyah (3/467), they said:

Similar to that is the purity of that which has been fertilized of trees and crops with impure things; their fruits are permissible because of the transformation of the impure substance. Another similar case is the purity of alcohol which turns into vinegar; it is permissible to consume it, sell it, drink it and use it in other ways, after it had been alcohol which it is haraam to drink, sell or buy, and that is because of this transformation.

A friend gave me the book. Two years later I read it and gave up after smoking nearly twenty years. Maybe I really wanted to give up so that’s why I read the book.

I live not far away. I love it but it isn’t really set up for tourism.
Kite feeding at Nant yr Arian (and the cafe)
A walk round Dinas, visiting Twm Sion Cati’s cave.
The steam train from Aber to Devils bridge and back (maybe vice versa for you)
If you like bleak upland trudges get a map and explore. Maybe head for Drygarn Fawr or Llyn Fyrddon Fawr?
Call into Cwtch cafe in Pontrhydygroes, cross the miner’s bridge and explore the gorge and waterfalls of Afon Ystwyth.
See whats on at Aber Arts Centre?
Devils Bridge is worth paying the £2 for the walk.
Parsons Bridge is worth the short walk but remember to take something to feed the pigs in the field past the church.
Everything that Ambrose says, especially the cavern cascade, but you need to bring your own opium to experience Kubla Khan.
Do you like old mines? There are lots of those.

Greenhouses need watering, veg patches not so necessarily. Maybe relevant if you go away during the summer.

Wasn’t Robert Wyatt’s Shipbuilding released before any Elvis Costello version, so not really a cover? I oculd be wrong.
But, covers better than original, Elvis Costello, this comes to mind

About twelve years ago I developed psoriasis on my scalp which got progressively worse over six months or so and began to spread to facial hair/face. I was vegan and teetotal at the time and couldn’t identify any environmental factor. Doctor prescribed several steroid treatments which didn’t work until we tried Elocon (Mometasone furoate)which had an almost immediate effect and cleared the condition with one short course of treatment. I had a small flare-up a couple of years later which responded to the same treatment and no trouble since. I guess all cases are different.

I’m in West Wales and I am envious of the prices I see on here. I think I will be burning coal again this winter.

Depending on your budget also consider: George Borrow Hotel, Ponterwyd; Hafod Hotel, Devils Bridge; Nantsyddion bothy/Nantrhys bothy.

Can we have a map that we can plot meetings/sightings/current position on?
