While I ponder over maps can someone please save me time and outline a likely river route between northern Preseli and Salisbury Plain?

When I read the OP I thought of my friend and ex partner who walked under a train a few months back. I am still always thinking this is what I’ll say to her, this is what we’ll do, and it will all be Ok. You are not alone in your grief. It is sad, really sad, and always will be but time will smooth over it.

Gooseberry vodka – infused or distilled

A friend at work recommends the dried gooseberries from https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/jun/25/gooseberry-recipes-yotam-ottolenghi-slaw-dried-fool-salsa

I just eat a few handfuls in the garden when they are sweet enough and content myself with how healthy my blackbirds look.

Sounds like a good friend of mine was like two months ago. She walked under a train. Do everything you can even though it may not work.

I thought that simultaneously being health secretary and deputy chairman of British American Tobacco was bad enough.

Keep you eyes open. They usually have them in round about June but they did them this winter as well. And they were £8.49 before the referendum, but they sold out quick.

I had a Proper Job watching the rugby, I’m nearing the end of a Riggwelter, and there is a Mud City in the cupboard. That’ll probably do me.
I’m also listening to Chet Baker and cooking chilli, in case anyone wants to know.

Lidl sometimes does Gulden Draak (the dark triple and the quadruple) as part of the Belgian beer selection pack (10.49 for 6 x 330ml)
I haven’t seen this dubbel bruin stuff in my local
    (edit, beaten to it)

I’m well into fennel but I’d probably go for carrots for cheapness, versatility and flavour. Or onions. So much depends on onions.

I never liked Cabin Pressure but his sketch show can be very good.
Clare has been good but now a little tired
Ed Reardon good but not funny.
Tom Wrigglesworth, Mark Watson, Alex Horne all excellent
Rich Halls election show was top class
    John Shuttleworth – timeless genius

In my last house the council rat man told me that rats usually come into the loft at night to remove insulation material to line their burrows. He also said that when poisoned they would go outside to die. When I moved out there was a hell of a stink coming from the loft.

He has taken his dog for a walk and is attempting to go into his house.
If he is a dangerous drug dealer get a warrant and raid the house.
If the evidence isn’t strong enough for that, it probably isn’t good enough to fire a taser into his face.

I’m sure that a 63 year old white man would similarly have been tasered in the face for refusing to give his name to the police and I am pleased to note that charges of assaulting a police officer have been dropped. Something very wrong here.

I haven’t been to Canterbury West Train Station for 35 years but I can remember the announcement that the train now arriving at platform one will call at Chartham, Chilham, Wye, Ashford, Charing, Lenham, Harrietsham, Hollingbourne, Bearsted, Maidstone East, Borough Green, Bromley South, and London Victoria. Passengers for Waterloo, Charing Cross, Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton change at Ashford.

The Syrian government holds about 20% of the land area of the country much of which is a bombed-out and ungovernable wasteland and sooner or later Iran and Hezbollah will tire of sending their fighters to die in an unwinnable war. Maybe, six years ago, the Assad dynasty ought to have had a response to the demonstrations against their rule other that of sending the opposition’s corpses home in body bags.
