It is signposted but easy to miss one – take a map -plenty of other trails to find also.
No official camping at the trail centre but places to wild camp in the hills
and two miles away:
Mail order from rose.de is good if you want quite a few and odd amounts of different lengths. They will also send you crap catalogues for eternity though.
Ambrose – They are both run by Mountain Bothy Association and I'm sure they'd tell you what was happening if you e mailled them.
And as I've been stuck in work for the last few weeks finishing my thesis and I'm jealous I'd like to be really pedantic and point out that the monks trod doesn't end at the dams either way. Ignore me.
I love my cross bike (kinesis 4t) I have road bikes and MTBs and my cross bike is the most all-round capable and most used bike of all of them. Probably not a lot of practical difference between the models mentioned. Go for it.
Re. the original question
"should" doesn't really come into it.
Is red meat as part of a balenced diet necessary? No.
Is red meat as part of a balenced diet harmful? No.
The route out to Strata Florida is straightforward. Making it a circular is less so. Routes are rideable but not all 100% so.
You can turn N up the hill just E of the farm at Claerwen by the reservoir and head over the monks road to Pont yr Elan. This is notoriously boggy but by joining it this way you skip the western section which is the worst.
Or you can turn L at the abbey and head down the Tywi track on this route http://www.offroadadventures-online.com/rr049.html or a variant of it. All of the bridleway routes crossing the hills back to the bottom of Claerwen are possible but the tracks don't follow the map route exactly and disappear in places. I'd avoid the track down Afon Arban.
The track round Claerwen and beyond is easy going but the stuff before you get there (some bits of which I haven't ridden for a while) has more ups, rocky bits, "puddles", etc. Not exactly difficult but probably one of the harder sections. I reckon two hours is easily possible but cutting it a bit fine. And depends where you're aiming for – Pontrhydfendigaid is only just civilisation.
First time they need a service changing the bearings usually helps. When this needs doing again they usually need new bushings as well. I don't know how easy this is – I've just ordered a couple of sets of bushings to start work on my backlog of knackered pedals.
I met him some 5 years ago when we were both working planting trees. I wasn't sure it was him at the time but have just confirmed it through some googling in response to this question. Haven't seen him since.
Cowboy coffee. Put coffee in cup, add water. Coffee grounds sit on top, when brewed touch them with a spoon and they sink. Just don't drink the last bit. Perfectly OK for lightweight camping. Higher roast coffees don't sink so well.
I was a fan of a fellow male my own age called Indurain but it wasn't till a few years ago that I realised why he was so good. I'm still a fan of Pantani, for all his faults. Neither of them ever tested positive (arguably) but neither of them has millions of fans protesting their innocence. Trouble with Armstrong is that he has built an empire on his reputation. I don't hate him but I think he should come clean or shut up. I can see why the former might be a bit difficult though.
If the epo test is flawed then Schumacher, Ricco, Rebellin, Di Luca, Astarloza, Kohl, Sella etc. etc. are all waiting to be defended from this great miscarriage of justice.
I guess it depends on what level you're talking about, but to compete against someone who has manipulated the oxygen-carrying capacity of their blood (ie. at the top pro cycling since at least the early 90s) you have to do the same. Admittedly things are cleaner now than they have been.
I use the hose and head unit from a track pump attached to a car tyre as a DIY compressor for the difficult ones where a track pump doesn't work. Don't forget to pump up your car tyre again afterwards.
