I'd go for open pros or cxp33s.

But if you'd like a cheap pair of Ambrosio Evolution rims email me.

My favourites are Bridgedale Impact. They don't seem to make them any more but these may be equivalent but in boring colours:

Alpkit ones are similar, a bit chunkier, and excellent value.

It looks like I'm going to have to give it a miss this weekend. The University has told me that I have to get the corrections to my PhD finished by Tuesday and I would really like to tell them to shove it up their arse but it is over four years work. Bastards bastards bastards.
I'm well pissed off by this but hope it all goes well.

I was anabaena on the old forum but I thought that if you're going to be named after a cyanobacteria, nostoc is a better one.

The Wright brothers were bike mechanics so they presumably had a shed.
There was more than one of them though.

It is a better track than Afon Arban though a climb either direction and some unrideable bits on top. Possible but not easy.
(Afon Arban going E is at least downhill)
I have never done the (multiple) climb approach from off the Tywi track though.

When I’m out that way looking for a route I usually go over Foel Drygarn and down Nant Paradwys.

At present I`m thinking of doing Llyn Brianne dam to Llangurig via Abergwesyn, Bwlch y Ddau Faen, Nant Paradwys, Elan, Rhayader. Things may change.

    Been up Plynlimon then, Pistonbroke?

Afon Arban – I've been through it twice, but not for many years. Bridleway is largely non-existent and you have to carry bike over tussocks for miles which is really tiring.
Last time I did it it was as a "shortcut" from Claerwen dam to Strata Florida. A few hours later I was still trudging through and wondering if I'd get out of the valley before darkness.

If anyone has more recent info please update. I'd consider it if going downhill (anticlockwise) but not up.

Aber to Tregaron mostly along old railway. It might be nearer 100% completion than the website suggests. Never done it – a bit flat for me.
Also google "rheidol trail"- Aber to Cwmrheidol on paths and quiet roads (and a bit of A44)

Before you go off the page.
Not necessarily. I guess it depends on how workable your soil is. If its light you can just tread it down carefully after digging and plant straight into it, as long as what you're putting in the trench doesn't need time to compost. Give it a good water after planting.
What is the alternative to a trench?
What are you putting in the trench, what is the soil like anyway and what preparation has it had? Are you planting beans or do you have plants growing?

Money given to Africa is insignificant compared to what we give to EC farmers.
Now, by giving do we not encourage or exasberate a problem that, if given time, would be sorted out via means of natural selection or regional governments?

Thanks all, it seems steel and simple is the way to go. My ten minute hack looks OK for now though. Bit cold, mind.

Put the spade down. Humans can't synthesise SOME amino acids, plants can. Not just soya – grains, beans, greens etc.

There are a couple of bridleways that drop down into Cwm Gwaun off the Preselis then you can head over Carningli to Newport ( after a pint at Dyffryn Arms, perhaps)

    nostoc

Not really. There are several routes you can take round the Preselis but thats about it.

Surely muggers and buglars who aren't drug addicts have a greater degree of responsibility for their actions than junkies and therefore deserve something worse than anthrax?

Silver hubs look really good – they reflect light all round the insides of the spokes and make the whole lot shine
I want silver hubs on my road bike but can't justify it.

If chilli and chocolate is so good then why haven't people been putting chilli powder on their chocolate all the time? In my personal opinion it is because chocolate is nicer without it.

About 15 years ago, whilst I was temporarily being a roadsweeper for Brighton council, I was approached by four different people in just over a week telling me I looked like Chuck Norris. Nobody has mentioned it since.

    DIY compressor
Take the hose and head fitting off a track pump. Buy a new spare head fitting and fit to other end of hose. Pump up car tyre a bit and attach to bike tyre valve with double-ended hose. Don't forget to pump up car tyre again.

As the sediment is settling by gravity and you're sampling it from the bottom it is likely that it will suddenly clear a little way into the barrel. Bottles clear faster than barrels as it hasn't got so far to fall.

I've just got home (a 1/2 mile from NyA) after a few days away and theres a good few inches of fresh snow with deeper drifts. I couldn't get my car up the drive.

I'm about a mile from NyA. The snow on surrounding hills seems to have disappeared overnight so trails should be clear.

I'd have thought that a genuine right-winger would be supportive of immigration and of the economic rights of the individual to sell their labour. Also of individual freedom of sexuality without the interference of the state. I'm sure there are a lot of people like that but the ones that aren't tend to appear like they are bigots hiding behind a convenient ideology.
