Was just about to take some photos of my daughters to put up for sale, few light scratches on the chain stays but otherwise very good condition. Exeter based. PM me if interested.

K-Sugden:  Where did you get your custom moulds for your TF10’s?  I got some for my IE8’s from ACS years ago and it was the best money i’ve spent on audio equipment, unfortunately they don’t do custom moulds anymore and i’ve not been able to find an alternative.  My TF10’s are just sat in a drawer as i can’t get a decent fit.

Thanks for all the advice.  From what I know the money is just from saving over the years, they have a bank account but when it reaches a certain level they withdraw cash and store it in the house all in £20 notes.

They don’t own their home so the fear is any savings will be taken if they end up in care.  There isn’t a will but they want her to share the money between the 2 brothers (her father and uncle) when the time comes.

Have a look at plus3mtb, course seems to cover all aspects of riding better/with more confidence. Not been on one yet but hope to later in the year. Have met one of their instructors Sandy a few times and he’s not only rapid but a genuinely nice guy.

Thanks Sharkattack, shock set up is fairly similar but my fork settings are very different.

Are you able to share Paul’s tuning guide Sharkattack? I’ve barely altered mine from the original settings but would be good to know.

170mm Reverb on my longest, its a long post overall but didn’t have any problems fitting it.
In the spirit of fitting the longest you can, the Vecnum Moveloc is available again and comes in a 200mm version which Chainline had on his original custom FG Nicolai.

Lots of things to like about the MT5/7 but short lever throw isn’t one of them, also the lever isn’t the best shape/ design though i think they are changing this and offering a dedicated single finger lever.
MT5 front with an MT4 rear is still my favourite brake set-up though and would only consider swapping if someone wanted to hand me some Hope Tech 3.

Another big thumbs up for tommee tippee perfect prep, just so quick, easy and hassle free which is what you want when you’ve got a hungry baby. Plenty available second hand around £30 or you could buy new and get half your money back when you sell.

Sorry my mistake, it says slightly updated 240 hub. Different shell but internals basically the same and 36 tooth ratchet system.

Moseymtb the dtswiss ex1501 wheel set is a 350 hub and xm471 rim, can be a bit pricey in this country but if you shop around on the usual German sites you can pick them up a lot cheaper.

I’ve got a doss, a reverb and had a Thomson, all 3 have been faultless but the doss is my favourite basically because of the first dropped position, I’ve found the small drop really effective and use it all the time through pedaly downhill sections as it gets the saddle out of the way just enough to weight the pedals for cornering.
The pressure is easily adjusted with a standard pump rather than being sent off for a nitrogen recharge or similar, I run mine at the lowest advised pressure otherwise the return can be a bit vicious!
The lever works great under the bar if running 1x but wouldn’t want to pair it with a front shifter and have it on top of the bar.

12hr solo for me on a stooge. Have done the 24hr team once before but wanted a challenge. Would like to do 10 laps but the lack of suspension might break me well before then.

I definitely feel the benefit on my full suspension as it removes the vague feeling on turn in and helps me track straight through rough ground rather than being pinged around.

Interestingly I bought a stooge a couple of weeks ago and swapped my old wheel set over to it and didn’t have the same vague cornering feel, I was actually going to try the enve front wheel on the stooge this weekend so will let you know clink.

I think there is a very noticeable difference between a good alloy rim and a good carbon rim particularly with a 29 wheel. I went from a sun ringle charger pro, which is very similar to a flow, to enve am 29 rims and there is a marked difference between the 2 in terms of accuracy and flex. I’ve also had the chance to ride on some derby carbon rims and couldn’t tell a difference between them and the enve, fortunately my enve rims were second hand and a very good price but if i was buying new I would go with either derby or lbc.

+1 for the goma, just spent a week on mine with dougbasquemtb and I was very impressed; good grip across a wide variety of conditions, mud clears quickly and never had a problem with the casings which I can’t say about the Hans Dampfs that I took off. Weight for the TNT version is similar to the HD but roll a lot better.
Seem to remember they were designed by the same guy that designed the classic maxis tyres (high roller, minion)

Nads nasal wax from amazon; you think it should hurt like sticking your nethers in a food blender but is virtually pain free. Leaves your nose hair free and has the added bonus of reducing regrowth.

To quote others “do it” I did 14 years ago and have not regretted it.
Pinhoe itself is on the outskirts of Exeter and is a very nice area, if you wanted to live outside of Exeter there is also broadclyst, it’s a small village near Pinhoe that has a good primary school.
The riding around here is amazing; haldon is a 10min drive (for me) for a quick spin, woodbury is 20mins for some natural trails then within an hour you have dartmoor, exmoor, the Quantocks and Bristol. 2 hours and you can reach the south Wales trails.

The ‘no seatbelt’ klaxon can usually be turned off by pressing the seatbelt release button. Can’t help with the others though.

Friend had a similar problem with his Devon red bull cider (named after local bovine breed 😉 ), even though it was only being sold locally at the time their corporate solicitors threatened him with legal action and massive compensation claim.

Yes, no problem Kaysee. Let me know if no luck with Viking and we can sort out an address and i’ll pop some in the post

I’ve got some 4952 in 19mm wide you can try, slightly higher adhesive strength than 5952 but very similar. Viking tapes are very good at helping source samples, from recollection they can source a 19mm x 3m sample foc.

Ok, try again. Can’t embed the video for some reason but click link for Dean Mumm with a huge handoff; would have been straight red if it was a tackle.

Oh and forgot to mention the 200hr service interval for the DT Swiss compared to Fox’s utterly ridiculous 8-10.

I can’t comment on the fox forks but I had the non carbon DT Swiss before going 29 and they have been my favourite fork by a good margin. Currently running Fox 34 140 29 which are well liked by the bike press but the DT Swiss damping is much more supple whilst still holding up well and not blowing through its travel, the chassis is also incredibly stiff for a 32 fork even for a big 200lb lump.
In answer to the weight part; my sister (about 110lb) now has them on her Nicolai and also loves them, gaining some extra suppleness at the lower pressures whilst retaining the control.
If they brought out a 140 29 version I’d snap hem up!

Very interested to see the final spec on that, possibly with another option in place of the CCDB.

I have an x-carbon at sub 24lb which is an amazing trail bike with 120’s. Very interested to know when the EG 29er is going to be available (Brant?) it looks like it will build into a bit of a weapon and if priced similarly to the 26 frame will be extremely popular.

I would definitely recommend over ear for bass heavy music, I have Sennheiser iE8 with custom ear moulds which are probably the best bass oriented in ear ‘phones on the market but still prefer my over ears for bass. As others have said HD25 are very good if you can get them for close to your budget, my personal favourites though are the ultrasone hfi line, they are closed back like the hd25 so don’t leak as much sound to annoy others as open back headphones and the bass is fantastic! for your budget I’d stretch a little for the hfi 580 (£120 from I headphones) then start saving for a decent amp……….

It was our first time up there Saturday, would definitely recommend being shown around! Tried following a route map but gave up and spent our time what I call exploring but my riding buddy calls being lost, great trails and great fun though!

I am a 5 a week 9-5’er but live in Exeter. The one thing Exeter seems to lack for children is a good indoor play area, having said that Dinkies in town would be perfect for your little one and the food is good and reasonably priced. My wife takes our little one to Bear feet in Newton Abbott and says that it’s very good and well worth a visit. I’m not sure where your based but the Waie Inn near Crediton is also excellent for kids with indoor/outdoor play areas and swimming pool, it’s also very reasonably priced. We also have annual membership to Crealey, its a little expensive at £55 (I think) but your youngest would be free and it can be spread out with monthly DD payments, there is loads for the kids to do and even if the weather is grotty there are all the animals inside and a couple of big indoor play areas that are great even for the biggest kid.

Best wishes to you and your family.

P.s. Love the idea of devondadbike – any excuse to get out riding!

Bought my HT Pro second hand for £450 from a CTWorker who didnt know what he had. Changed the saddle and tyres and have loved riding it for the last year. I now fancy trying something slightly different so will change Reba Race to 120mm and transfer 90% of components over to make a reasonably high spec piglet for a grand total around £750 – whats not to like?
