if you can rule out all of the things above about it sitting ok in the drop outs it might just be that the wheel is slightly out of dish.

fairly easy to fix, if you loosen the spokes on one side by half a turn and then tighten the ones on the other by the same amount the rim should move over. Just make sure before you start that you know which way is looser and which way is tighter. and make sure that you only do each spoke once (work from the valve hole round). And work in small amounts, maximum of half a turn adjustment on each spoke.

Ive got m8000 cassette, sram 1030 chain. E13 narrow wide ring in the middle position on some old shimano cranks. Works fine. Not noisy at all so maybe chainline or tight chain or just unlucky with chain / chainring combination would be my guess

Ive got the jobsworth one set up (annoying it got cheaper but hey ho). Gravity slave feel free to come and have a look at it if you are thinking of purchasing. Its nice and solid and should be easy to get the accuracy good. Bit fiddly to get around to do a quick true with a tyre on but i can live with that

If you can see the bearings the code should be on the seal. Just order 2 new ones from a decent ebay supplier then watch a youtube vid to see how to tap them out and new ones in. 10 minute job once you have done it a couple of times. Or take it to a bikeshop and expect to pay £35 ish.

I know it seems annoying when you phone the shop but there are so many variants they will want to be sure

Wwaswas – i didnt realise one on does stands. How wide does yours go? Im in the market for a stand but i want to make sure it will take a boost hub + adaptors. And does that lateral dial thing fit against a rim with a tyre on?

    Cheers

Evo and non evo use the same hub shell so if the internals are changed you effectively have an evo hub

that magnetic ring thing they offer privately looks like a much better solution than what is offered on the nhs (not that I’ve looked at any trial results in detail or anything but seems appealing conceptually, I would be properly going through the evidence before committing £10k and putting myself in the care of a non-nhs surgeon though)

I’ve had various dyspeptic symptoms which got much worse in November with bad reflux. Also had the gastroscopy just before xmas (unpleasant experience).

I’ve been on lanzoprazole (same sort of thing as omeprazole) for years, if you are new to them you might find they sort you right out, they did for me for ages. I am on 30mg twice a day so if you find your symptoms aren’t controlled you might be moved onto twice daily which might do the trick.

since the gastroscopy I’ve packed in wine and I don’t eat after about 8.30 at night. And I’ve stopped eating my own body weight in a single meal. 6 weeks of that and I feel much better, not perfect but manageable.

I think it is a case of working out what is particularly bad for you. For example I thought the super hot curries I eat would be really bad, but it turns out they are fine as long as I’m not eating a massive amount, late at night, with wine.

google things that people are avoiding, tomatos seem very bad for some people for example.

If you find any magic solutions let me know!

Yep. My 26 enduro has done 5 years of racing. I keep thinking of changing but when go through the spec i want (fox, xt 11, threaded bb, reverb) i cant find it and realise that ive basically already got exactly what i want

There are great deals on the nissan nv200 if you are after a smaller van. Bit basic but you can get a relatively new one for the money compared to other makes

I spent all this year riding an enduro with 180mm coil forks on it for everything except my commute. I dont see whats wrong with being overbiked if you are having fun

If you have to change everything I would say 1x is a no brainer. Less bits to buy, less to maintain, more modern. etc

I never managed to solve this problem. Happens with or without chainring spacers. I have decided to ignore it and pretend it is fine

Just got these to go with my deore platform pedals. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/shimano-am45-mtb-spd-shoes-2015/rp-prod55370

They are noticeably easier to clip in and out with. Something to do with the flat sole design i think

I went for the xtr shifter as it had no indicator window unlike the xt. It is great but the mounting band feels a bit flexy when changing gear. No major gripe though and i would definitely buy the same again, especially as the xt still isnt available without the indicator window or aftermarket blanking plate as far as i can see

I have a steel 456 with 150mm revs on it, handles really well though i wouldnt want a fork that was any longer. Have you considered going for a steel frame and putting the extra money towards a modern fork? Marzochh 55 set to 150 or a u-turn lyrik maybe?

The only good thing about this thread is that some of you are worse than me. On the plus side i have only had 6 bikes in 20 years. On the downside i’ve got a minimum of a £100 a month at crc, endless race entry and i swapped a perfectly good german estate for a knackered van. Basically every disposable penny i have after family commitments

I’ve got a 2010 26er Enduro and Ive done a couple of 50k events on it. Mine has a 2.8kg 180mm coil fork on it as well. I would think the new 650b with a Pike would be fine for all day pedalling, assuming you are happy to lose a bit of efficiency to have more fun on the descents

Have you seen the price of the last of the 2015 enduro comps http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Specialized-Enduro-Comp-650b-Mountain-Bike-2015-Full-Suspension-MTB_72434.htm?sku=225968&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=AdwordsProductAds&utm_campaign=Adwords&gclid=CMHqi9-z8sgCFdVAGwodhPcCrg#

With 3k you could buy that, a reverb, some handbuilt wheels on pro 2 and maybe have a little change towards saving to replace all the sram crap it comea with
