just ride the bike man, honestly, is this all you have to worry about?

it’s brilliant isn’t it. dont worry about the haters, some people just cant bring themselves to like something popular.

the technique for the drop in you mentioned if just to ride off it, the landing is more sloped than it looks and the forks should soak up a front heavy landing if you dont do it perfectly

one of my riding buddies has one, he reckons it is faster over very long distances due to the effect of the less punishing ride. he uses it in preference to faster bikes for anything over about 70 miles. great bike if you can afford it

you wont regret it, unless you cant afford to pay the credit card bill, then you might. Otherwise, all good, expensive purchase but one you will definitely get the use from

on the plus side, while we are waiting for all these good things to happen loads of other is getting built. Anyone ridden the new tracks dug in below the singletraction place at wharneclifffe? excellent stuff.

i cant ride it properly and it makes me crash, but excellent all the same

any advice? don’t choose a trail centre. Would seem basic but surprising how many dog owners dont get it

i had this on my specialized. cleaning with a disc specific cleaner helped a bit. in the end though i heard that there can be a problem with avid brakes and fsr suspension and I bought the GS3 solid sweeep rotor (it has no cut outs on the braking surface) and that worked a treat

I’m after a set of these, but I really want 20mm maxle, looks like this is discontinued for 2012. Has anyone seen any for sale?

i was debating this with myself as well. I entered the coed y one, it will be my first.

I think I will go for the full face, my username isn’t a coincidence….

what will most people be wearing ? I have entered along with a mate who is into his cross country events, I’m a little worried now that he will turn up and be put off if it looks like a downhill race

i love mine. they feel much much smoother and plusher than the coil pikes I used to use (extra 20mm of travel could be part of that). they are particularly good for making up for a lack of talent

Finale Ligure you say…… looks great, trying to convince my wife now.

Do you think she will twig that I am blatantly organising our family holiday around mountain biking?

    thanks for the replies guys

Potdog – just found your website, looks good! I would settle for a trail bike as long as someone takes me to the top of the hill. Will be in touch if we settle on Tenerife!

    Dunk10 – malaga – hadn’t thought of that, good one….

honourablegeorge – nice, but the kids will insist on a beach I think

i didn’t think that the dhr was so heavy for how much grip it gives, 2.35 folding is pretty light

Ive gone for 42 front, 60a rear and used the dhr for the rear. they are literally the best set of tyres I have ever had. Im going to buy loads more for my other bike and spare wheels

I’m 6 foot, I went for a large after much deliberation but found it a bit long, with a 40 mm stem it was perfect. You are right on the edge between the sizes I reckon so definitely try before you buy

i could sell you a set that dont work very well and maybe between all of the bits you would have a working set of forks. mine arent leaking but they are like a 2.4 kg set of rigid forks

terrible site, more information on singletrack than on that site, Im hoping some details of the venues are placed on there before I actually have to turn up and ride.

the only way I figured out how to enter was links on here!

Ive just had some chainrings off this guy http://www.dalesbikedoctor.co.uk

he seems happy to help and have a conversation about what will and wont fit, pretty cheap too

just bad luck, mine usually last 18 months at least at a similar use rate as yours

are you totally sure its the hub? just asking as I once had to apologise to the guy at just riding along after pestering him about a hub wearing out really quickly, turns out it was my frame bearings make things wobbly at the back, the hub was fine

I’ve snapped an x7 mech exactly like that. I figured it was because the chain was a tiny bit too short but now I’m re-considering

    are these all x7 mechs?

good luck! which way do you plan descending? I would say it’s going to be pretty dicy (3 in of snow in my garden and I’m about 5 miles away and a fair bit lower than the pole). in previous winters I have found it is passable on the sheffield side but mad, huge drifts on the other side

the thing I notice about the Enduro is that the bike isn’t quite as long, it seems to get around the tight corners better than the Pitch.

Looking back I remember that Pitch pro’s were on sale at the end of that first year they came out for around £1000. Seems like the bargain of the century now

I decided I wanted a Lyrik and a dropper seatpost on my Pitch, in the end I went for a second hand enduro with both of these on and sold the Pitch. I dont regret it, but I do feel a little gutted that the pitch was maybe a pound lighter than the new bike

I drove over the snake yesterday, there was quite a lot of snow at the high points, a little bit stuck in the grass around the low bits near ladybower. I would guess if you are staying on the low level stuff you should be OK. Roads are fine now as well.

thanks all for the replies. In the end I spent 2 hours trying to get across the penines. snake pass shut and a massive traffic jam on the a road to chapel. gave up and went home. might give it another go tomorrow

    thanks all for the info!
