pro 2 on stans flow is a good choice for riders with a bit of mass. hope factory builds are good value

to get the spacers out you need to remove the circlip first. hard to describe but easy to do…basically there is a circular piece of metal holding them in, one end is slightly protuding, push that back gently with a little screwdriver

love that. put a longer fork on and lose the spindly cranks it would be perfect

have a look at spesh butcher control. 780g. tubeless ready. £54 a pair at freeborn. fitted a pair a couple of weeks ago and they are rolling really nicely

they also charge 20 euro for wifi in frankfurt business lounge, so you can pay an 800 euro premium for a ticket to get to the US but still have to pay extra to get your emails!

have a great flight, enjoy the Warsteiner!

there is a guy in sheffield that has a shop but also parks up at one of the cycle trails fixing things out of the back of his car. I think it is a business model that could work, especially if you got a name by spending weekends at popular bike spots touting for business

i think one if these for the top but evans did me a cheaper one. double check though, im no expert

for the top you need the bearing and top cup only from a 1 1/8 campy style or ‘italian’ headset. i got one from evans that handily had 2 of the bearings in for about £20. for the bottom you need cane creek is52/40 fir a tapered fork or is52/30 for a 1 1/8 straight steerer fork. sorry i cant be more precise about the upper, if you use the cane creek headset finder it should give you a part number. cane creek bottom bearings come with a crown race

ive just put a set of those 180 vans on my enduro. they are taller than 160 mm fox but ive got a flat bar ready to sort that. forks are amazing though and the bike still climbs fine

merlin have good customer service ime. why dont you give them a chance to sort it first

if it was like mine you need an e type front mech, you take the bb mount off and and bolt it straight to the frame. whether it will arrive with the bolts you need im not sure

that mt zoom one is crazy light. my bike does do the odd downhill track though, not sure if im being daft thinking about a light carbon bar. that spank one looks good…

im in the market for a wide flat bar, what other options are there that would be safe for a clumsy fat bloke with an enduro? anyone tried the crank bros one? or the kinesis?

merlin are selling one by raceface 104 bcd. fits 9, 10, 11 speed apparently. dont know about 8 tho

good suggestions, thanks both, I didn’t know about the new tubeless ready maxxis, and the butcher control 2bliss is ‘only’ £30 at Evans, thats a whole lot cheaper than conti’s

I’ve been running 2.5 UST minions for the last year in wharnecliffe \ peaks \ enduro races. Pure reliability, they are brilliant.

The 2.35 minions on my lighter wheels keep exploding off the rim though so I need a proper UST tyre in about a 2.35 that is a bit more reliable tubeless, I was going to go for Hans Damps but might avoid based on this thread.

so it looks like everyone would suggest conti protection? Anyone know of any other lightish 2.35 tyres that are good tubeless?

ahh. the vans are second hand, I didn’t realise that. still, that actually makes me feel better about them, at least they aren’t too good to be true.

My Lyrik DPA are currently in the shop for a service, while they are I am using a set of Vans on loan, I am really impressed with them. They dont seem much heavier if at all than the Lyriks and they seem to give a whole load more grip

dude – you have to call the police, the bus company have no interest in this being seen as a criminal act, which it clearly is.

Don’t rely on the police doing the leg work to get the CCTV though, best off doing that yourself if it needs to be done quickly

I’ve used 2.5 minion tubeless UST for about a year now, faultless.

    a little draggy

    quite heavy

    but faultless

ok, not great in gloopy mud,

but they stay on the rim and don’t tear, nearly faultless

I have also had maxxis folding non UST tyres explode off the rim (though on landing, not just pushing up a hill). The wire ones stay on fine though, UST ones fit even better. I think folding maxxis are just too floppy for tubeless

my joystick just arrived, nice! USB and mains charger, lanyard, little red LED and a headband that according to my colleagues ‘makes me look a right tool’

I also get the thing with sometimes no response to turning off. I think it is the red LED thing confusing it. pulling that out and putting it back in seems to fix it.
