Thanks @stwhannah & @singletrackzoe. I’ll just wait and be patient for my name in lights 🙂

    When was this list updated?

Thanks for the reminder, it’s been on my to-do list. I’ve just moved house and rediscovered all my old print copies of the magazine (from number 1!) that I moved with me to the other side of the World. I read a few articles of old and got all nostalgic about riding with Kevkillskonas (lost touch, is he still on here?), the Berkshire on Bikes gang and oop North back home riding around Dalby forest and the Yorkshire Dales. Had some epic adventures inspired by fellow readers back in the day who I’d met through the STW website. Have my donation in full and save your postage money on shipping a t-shirt to NZ, it’s all good, cheers!

Sad news. Fond memories of him at the 24 hour race line I did back in the early 2000’s.

Well, I’ll keep this in mind for sure. There’s some mint riding to be had between Molesworth, St James and Hanmer Springs. The next time the family want to meet the Mother-in-Law in Kaikoura, I’m going to go to Middle Hill with my bike instead!

There is Gliffy, which is an online replacement for MS Visio. I have a paid account but pretty sure you can just sign up for free. Never used Visio since.

Perhaps Peter Jackson might need some real taxi shots for his remake of the Dambusters classic movie? He already owns a line up of WW1 aircraft here in NZ.

Now that XH558 Vulcan is likely to be grounded after this year for good. Maybe this project could pick up the wave of enthusiastic donations from this instead.

And then you’ve got the People’s Mossie coming along nicely to compete with the recently restored KA114 FB26 by Avspecs that will be shipping to Jerry Yagen shortly.

    Exciting times.

I can see it’s in Stafford, but what is the name of that (army I presume) base? (Not been in UK for ages now).

The news is grim, but us Cantabrians will get over this. I’m not moving back to the UK to ride in gloopy mud and stinging nettles anyway!

Been here in Christchurch for the last 7 years. I can only echo NZCol and WillH comments.

    Thanks Mark.
I just had it in 2-page view – but not the cover 2-page option ticked. What a numpty 🙂

Anyone know if it’s possible to change the Adobe settings so that I can view the PDF in the 2-page view so that the photos across two pages are matched?

Originally from the UK but now in Christchurch, New Zealand.

I still read the magazine for the nostalgia of riding in sticky mud, rain, nettles, Yorskhire, Wales, choosing from the huge choice of tyres in shops/online, group pictures of after-ride drams of whisky in distilleries & pubs with roaring open fires,…

    Was Doug flying again?
Third time lucky for him… I can't wait for Classic Fighters next Easter 🙂

Nice summary Singlespeed – totally agree.

But yeah, last year I was snowboarding in the morning and by late afternoon I was on a Christchurch beach sunbathing in very comfortable temperatures. People back in the UK just don't get that you can do that here.

I bought a GT Tachyon 2.0 for just this purpose in February. A 'road' bike for the MTB'er.

Are they still around? I have a couple of their albums from uni days. Never seen them live.
