I’m just on tenterhooks for the teased glass of water incident…..

Just got my Basic Air M2 from Costco, £1109, so slightly cheaper than JL and a chunk cheaper than Apple. In theory, Costco do a 2 year warranty also

I hate knee pads, but the rapha ones don’t feel like they’re there. Get my vote! What people say though, fit is personal on these things.

    Charlie. Love it!

This has been more helpful than I think you all suspect! I’ve spent the last two days speaking with people (friends, trusted colleagues and some people outside in the industry). Everyone has said the same thing. I’ve looked for and asked for dissenting opinions and we’ve not arrived at a different conclusion. There’ll always be reasons not to, but I think my decision making on this is sound.

I’m going to make the jump. If I weren’t nervous, I’d be a bloody idiot. So embrace it.

Thank you all – some really sound words.

Is there any reason to get the 2022 M2 MacBook Air, over the 2020 M1? Price difference is a couple hundred quid. Usage is largely admin, some video conferencing etc.

Haha not Amazon, but there’ll probably be a level of press coverage when it breaks.

Some really good advice here team thank you. Had the offer confirmed, so it’ll just be the notice period pay in lieu negotiation. I’m very inclined to submit my application. Good conversation with my boss who has said he’ll support whichever route I choose.

Pension point is a great one. Thank you!

Agree re the first job, it’s about balance isn’t it

This is all really useful thanks. The tax year point is one I need to get a little bit more info on. My calculations assume there’s a chance I’ll tip in to FY22 tax and pay slightly over 40% on some of it.

I’m very much feeling this is a no brainer. I’m just looking hard for the critical friend voices, to check.

    Thank you :)

On your garage door, you might be able to ‘smart’ it. I fitted Meross smart things to ours so they can be controlled through HomeKit. Removes the reliance on the remotes and I find it a lot more convenient.

Got a bigger Toyota with the hybrid. It’s excellent. Had a Corolla courtesy the other day, fresh from the factory, did 60mpg without being careful.

    I’d say it’s a good choice.

Bought the bleed kit to do mine. Fantastic. Watch the video and it couldn’t be easier.

Huge improvement over codes and the tech 3’s. They’re brilliant.

Probably very basic, but we had success with propping the mattress up a bit, just took the edge off. Apologies if you’ve tried/already doing it.

Be quite assertive in terms of getting checks.

At what point is this just normalising bullying?

I think you’re all missing the point. The vendors have admitted to ommitting information from the property information form.

You might have an angle on the text message. They will have filled a form in which requires them to state any known faults, I think (from memory). This is evidence they knew and didn’t declare

It feels quite uncomfortable as well, in terms of the undertones it brings. Plus, his children (presuming he has any?) watching the reaction to him on it and the potential for bullying etc. Not very positive for them.

Some of the other remarks though, BG – he couldn’t see his mum. Well no and neither could thousands of others – but is that what he should be cross about?! I’d say the decision to sacrifice care homes by releasing positive patients in to them is a bigger and much more directly attributable poor decision. I’d argue anyone/everyone would have had to impose the ban on visitors in hospitals.

I think unfortunately his ‘I want people to see the real me’ is just too weak an argument and too unrealistic a proposition. In truth, he wanted a pay check and to cash in on what he hopes is positive publicity.

Is there anyone you care about who you think would appreciate it? Feel good value may be better than £ value.

Towed (loaded trailer not a caravan) with my hybrid Toyota Highlander. Been really good. It sounds a bit noisy up hills (cvt) but wasn’t struggling at all despite being up towards 2T on the back.

Had mine for a while. Previous user of last gen E4’s, XT’s, Code’s and the other sram brake the name of which I can’t remember. They’re so good. In every respect. Running 180’s on my hightower, that’s plenty.

Disco sport, early 2.2’s are a great engine but early build cars are plagued by electrical faults as is Land Rover tradition. The 2 litre diesels are a bit more sorted as cars, but the engines have got huge oil contamination issues. Wouldn’t touch with yours.

Long term landy lover, but echo all comments. Have owned several defenders and latterly a FL2. When you reckon the FL2 was the most reliable and cheapest fix, eek.

Just bought a Toyota highlander. Very happy with it.

@mulv1976 the consensus seems to be remove any scheduling from it. When the cloud goes down, it’ll go offline for 15 then restart as a ‘dumb’ charger.

I’m gutted also. Highlights the very real problem of smart services being cloud based, whatever the product.

Plus we’ve just lost warranties and ongoing support. Really bad.

Thanks for that team. I don’t think we can stretch to the Caribbean but going to pop to hays at the weekend and see what they have. Sounds like the canaries is ok, might push it to may half term maybe!!!

Appreciate the advice :) not sure I’ll get away with sneaking my road bike in the bag… 😂
