Did it with my VAG group, got two years servicing out of it. Paid off within the 14 day cooling off period.

I started this year. Firstly, wait til spring to go outside IMO. Try and find a local lake with a swimming area and some people to go with. It’s a bit of a learning curve. Get in the pool now and start improving your swimming, especially your breathing control.

Finally perfect your looking in to the distance, water to the mid thigh insta shot. Obvs.

Fenix all day. There’s quite a lot on DC rainmaker about this but they’re different developer teams. My 955 was buggy as you like and functionally not brilliant I sold it and bought a Fenix 7, which is fantastic.

Quite an interesting 3 parter recently on Freakonomics podcast about the issues of museum content, handing back and how to hand back.

    https://freakonomics.com/podcast-tag/stealing-art-is-easy-giving-it-back-is-hard/

It was pretty interesting and talked quite a lot about the Benin Bronzes. It’s slightly American in its stance but generally pretty balanced. I hadn’t ever really given a lot of thought to how these pieces arrived where they are.

    There’s some lovely whisky bottles.

    Mortlach – nicely art deco

Kilchoman – I always think they’d make a lovely lamp

Nc’Nean is lovely, be quite nice with a light inside

One distillery that I’ve forgotten used a little bit of local granite in the cap.

Re Farage agree. What gets me, is the noise around how much he’s been paid. 1) how did he command that much and 2) why did they pay it. Nuts.

Thanks all! We currently have a beam gen1, which I love. Room is a decent size but I think would benefit more from the added overall complexity an Arc would offer, rather than the added punch of a mini sub

Has anyone any experience of the Samsung Gen 6 ashp’s?

Getting quotes through to retro fit our oil fired mid 00’s stone build, well insulated detached. They’re speccing a 12kwh Samsung gen 6. Yet to get to the detail on rads etc.

Perfect. Thanks! I hadn’t realised the impact on low power situations, so makes total sense!

Quick one – our proposed install is peak 8.6kwh production, with 5.5kwh south facing and then 1.5kwh facing east and west respectively. The installer is proposing a 6kwh solar edge inverter. Do you think this will be ok, and we won’t see too much clipping?

There’s a few on Google who sound to have had similar issues. Have a browse

When you start the car with headlights on, do they do a little ‘bob’ up and down?

Got a tempest v2 here, had it a little over a year. Love it. Great bike.

Yeah, I’m thinking keep the 5.5 on the south roof, then try and stick 2kwh each on the east and west, should really increase our early and late generation and when the sun is a bit higher our peak generation should be fairly chunky

North Yorkshire, quote through from reputable and well reviewed business:

    – 13*410w Inset black mono panels

    – 5kw Fox ESS inverter

    – Solar iBoost

    – Tesla Powerwall 2 (13.5kwh)

    – All installation, sign offs and scaffolding

    £13,600.

I’m interested to understand what putting some on some of our east/west aspects can do (above is pure south facing).  We’re also looking at going ASHP, and we have an EV, so I’m keen to generate as much as we can.

Thanks team. If it’s too good to be true it usually is.

makes me concerned about the normally priced one I’ve looked at. Think need to go with reviews!

@thepurist thank you. That’s really interesting. We have a really weird thing where the felt was laid wrong/wrong weight of felt for clay tiles so when it’s windy it flaps and is really annoying. Part of me is thinking to take this opportunity to fix the felt and then lay the solar at the same time.

@prettygreenparrot yeah, they’re coming down a lot. You have to add scaffold etc on to there, but it’s a different world of pricing versus even 18 months ago

Has anyone looked at, or done, the fitting of inset solar panels to an existing roof?

We live in a really windy area, Im quite keen on solar as I think in the medium/long term its the economic way to shift us off Oil and on to ASHP (house is a mid 00’s stone build, fairly well insulated but no underfloor heating, so we’ll never be a super efficient modern home).  I’ve been quite taken at how much pricing has reduced on solar in the last couple of years, a 7kwh array and Tesla power wall is now coming in around the £12k mark.

@wbo yes it is contradictory, but I would have thought (?) were the accident to have occurred as per the statement the beeb wouldn’t have a leg to stand on, and hse would be much more interested that someone had been ‘forced/strongly encouraged’ to do something they weren’t comfy (or qualified) to do, without a helmet….

However you cut it. He should have been wearing the right PPE were it a sanctioned stunt gone wrong, which I’ve heard very much isn’t the case, hence no action.

It’s peculiar this. The incident has been deemed not requiring further investigation by HSE I think, suggesting no negligence.

My understanding of what happened is Flintoff took the Morgan out, and attempted to slide the vehicle, having been told specifically not to by Morgan and production given the dangers of doing so (due to its 3 wheel design). He did so anyway, without a helmet, going against the protocol and advice at the time. All of this was off camera, when not filming segments ie in his downtime.

The fact there’s no HSE case to answer aligns with the above explanation, which then all seems rather at odds with a £9m payout.

    Really weird

Same here in North Yorkshire. Not normally a problem or a thing, but they have been. One morning I woke up and I’d clearly left a shoulder on display, peppered!!!

We got our ~13 year old miele washing machine repaired in the spring on the Miele fixed price thing. When I rang, it included the deal that if they judged it uneconomical to repair they’d give you the full value you’d paid for the repair off a new one. Seemed like a win to me.
The engineer came out and replaced the bits that were broken and stuck a new motherboard in it for good measure! Excellent service. I was delighted, as I don’t want a new, app controlled overly complicated one. Very happy with ours. I’d give it serious thought. It’s still a lot cheaper than equivalent new.
