I tried this on my Mondraker, spent the afternoon carefully trimming it to go round the front mech. Lasted about ten minutes before it got removed to the first bin I could find!!
Angular contact bearings are designed to take radial and thrust loads in combination. The proper reference is 61806 which denotes the bearing size and it is a radial ball bearing which will be available from any bearing distributor, add 2rs for the rubber sealed version. SKF are probably the best bearings out there and IMO worth the premium. For the record I work for Brammer, who are bearing distributors for most of the recognised bearing manufacturer’s in Europe.
Check the bearing size on the SKF website
Virgin run on the EE network I think. I’m currently in south Wales and have to wi fi hotspot for the laptop as the wife’s O2 dongle is garbage round here.
I don’t know about Trek sizing but I am 6’3″ with a 34″ inside leg and ride a 57cm Norco which seems about right. The size chart says I should ride a 60cm, but the 60cm felt too big for me in the shop.
I was at Gisburn yesterday and it was mainly OK with largish puddles in some of the dips. The hailstones shortened my ride to the bottom half of The 8 though, and made the trip back to the A59 interesting to say the least!!
I got the Ea90’s from the same seller. Came with the bearing update kit from Easton in the box which was easy to fit and eliminates the freehub issues. Had for 4months with no issues. 135 x 12 adaptors from zyro and sun ringle 12mm to qr from CRC. Nice & light and seem strong enough to date on my mondraker.
Looked at 2013 Norco Valence A2 in Evans today, looks well specced and reduced from £850 to £565. Cycle work on the cards for me too and this is favourite on my list at the moment.
Make sure you get an app like “Kids Place-Parental Control” it allows you to pick the apps the kids can access, including internet browsers etc, and is password protected to give you control.
