it is a pritty simple job i did it on a set a while ago. From what i can remember you only need 3 new parts. A top out spring (im sure i used one out of a boxxer fork as the listed one wasn’t in stock)a u-turn spring and a top cap. can remember the part numbers but i can look them up if you want.
You do have to remove the lowers so you my aswell do a oil chainge aswell.
Just had a look ith the supplyer all of the 2.2 and a few of the 2.4 rubber queens are out (with madison). There is no date for when they are back in. you should be able to get the ust 2.4’s no problem though.
oliverd1981 is right you will need to replace your rear hub or wheel to get it down to a 9t, which will be a fair bit more than £20. The smallest you ca go with a screw on hub is 13t.
We have been looking for some one for a while now too. It has been alot harder than i thought. Didn’t think of putting it on here though. Good luck with the hunt.
i have recently gone from cheep packs to a Dakine nomad. the bladder is massive 3L and there is loads of room in there for other stuff. easy to clean out and the removable hose is great. as other people have said the lock on the valve can be a two handed job.
We should have a demo covert soon. Just waiting for the 2011 frames to come in. I will probably end up being a med frame. We have just finished the Trans am demo in a large but haven’t had a go on it yet.
the top out spring is in the lower part of the crown unit. so you have to take the lowers off remove the c clip in the bottom of the left stanchion to remove the 2step cart and replace with the top out spring. then you can put it all back together but fitting the u turn unit in the left leg with the new top cap. its pretty simple if you have the tools and parts.
I have just done the swap over to uturn coil. They feel much better for it too. If it happens again outside you warranty it will cost you. Get it done while you can.
There is probably a few clubs over epping. But there is loads of groups of people over there too. I most riders are happy to talk bike to anyone that will listen (i do all the time which helps promote the shop we have opened near by too). Ride the mud now and you will be flying round in the summer.
There are loads of people that ride Epping that is nearish to you. Thats where we ride most of the time. Your welcome to come ride with us. There are mixed abilaties out all of the time. Im the slowest at the moment but you only get fitter and faster riding with fitter and faster people.
Go ask the people in your LBS. Most of them will know where to ride or people to ride with. We have loads of people ask us. Just go to the places where there a lots of riders, we always end up riding with the sameone difrent.
It not a buisy time of year in the trade so would have thaught someone would have done a deal. Alot of the margins ahve been cut due to the tax rise so may be putting them off. 10% is a big amount to swallow. What was you after any way?
If you can stump up the extra i would. The 816 is a bigger unit but the main advantage is that it has a bar mounted button to turn the lights on off and you can dim them with the thumb button rather than faffing with button on the back of the light. that is worth the extra alone.
The ones from on one are ok for road or toe path use. I wouldnt want to go far off road with them. They give a spot from each beam and not alot of side spread. Better off with a 2nd had unit or a DX light for that money.
Hope dose do a mount for post fork to is caliper but i dose add 20mm to your origonal IS disc size. cant remember the part code. im sure we have one so will let you know the part no if i can find it.
These pugsley style bikes have always interested me since the first time i saw them. seems if you get the 100mm hub spacing forks you dont need to build an offset wheel. Looks like most of the stuff is out of stock with ison at the moment. But you need any of let me know and will give them a call and find out when its comming in.
I think im going to have another go but make it with the batteries inside. May go with the bigger hammond box to get in more than batts though. Time to get some more LED’s and stuff. Trout and BCT YGM.
Im sure you not ment to get any clothing from associate dealers. They have been known to refuse to pay the shops for some goods provided. The are making it more and more difficalt for people to use associate dealers.
You can only use their C2W voucher in an associate distributor if you want a bike or brand that they cannot provide (we do it with Treks). I would go into your local store and ask them for a barand they dont do (like Trek Marin Giant )and see where they send you? Seems each store has a different associate distributor set up.
trout do you have any extra reflectors that i can buy as i have damaged one of mine (melted it a little with a soldering iron) . I will also have another kit off you if you have one. As i would like another go and try to not make it look like a five year old had made it.
Light is done and i really pleased with it, a little ruff around the edges (damaged a reflector by melting it a little with the exhaust out the side of the soldering iron) i think less speed and more haste was in order. Good luck to the people fitting it in to a small case cut mine down to 50mm and it was tight. would have made it easer to have had sorter cable between components. Off to got test it 😀
