Just thinking on those cables tj
With it being a cheapish frame do you not fancy a go at some internal routing with the old drill in low stress areas ?

Standard in a pike charger damper is 3w with motul 2.5 being a good alternative
I would go something like a 10 in the lowers if you haven’t got the correct stuff

Anyone remember the quality brand that was coyote ?
He should be locked up for that at the very least !
In all honesty though I met him a few times as a youth working in the trade and he was always nice to us minions

If it is that and you can get yourself a c clip it won’t need anything other than pulling the base plate back into the post and fit the new clip
    Jobs a good un

I once ordered an xtr rear mech
Got xtr mech and an xt front mech
Phoned up ” hey up you’ve sent me a front mech I didn’t order”
In reply ” do you want a front mech “
    Cheers

    I would say so yes
Not sure how they stack up weight wise but having serviced a fair few I would say that the fairly basic open damper that they have compared to other forks at the price point is gonna go against them

To be fair ton I’m not sure you can call flogging the same single pivot bike for the past 400 years jumping on the bandwagon

I would go for the me7 ton I’ve had both and I’m so much happier with the me7 the m200 is a weird fit
It’s kind of long and narrow which means even if you didn’t want to run the cleats that far back you would have to anyway where as the me7 is a normal fit with cleat position that can be moved really far back

Rp23 isn’t that hard to do
You don’t need a vacuum machine to bleed stuff like that it’s dead easy to do with one but it’s not hard without it
The propedal will be squishy because the oil is old and abit emulsified
Change the oil set the ifp charge the chamber not massively hard but you do need the stuff to do it .

Just for balance I’ve been a few times now and bloody love it , all of it in fact
I have it’s worth mentioning on more than one occasion witnessed riders talking to the uplift drivers like they are morons and just generally treating them like shit
So it goes both ways I guess

Whyte is a bit better designed for the uk
Santa Cruz is better designed for calafornia

I work on both types of bike on a regular basis and can’t agree with this
Sc ac bearings and collet system is far better suited to Uk Conditions

It’s written somewhere by somebody clever that if you run the stem directly on the top cap it increases shear force on the steerer by 23.86756446777789 % ( this figure might be wrong )
So you want at leas a 5 mm in there apparently

Reading mags these days is a weirdness I find it takes a bit of focus to stay on task
Often if I see something of interest before I know it the mag is on the bench and I’m reading about it on my phone
    Odd behaviour

I used to run a women only workshop night at one of the shops I used to work for
I always found that the class would start right back at the very beginning with things like how do I get my back wheel in and out, how do I do a puncture etc
This would never be the case with men in the room the women would just keep quiet ,obviously you had women in the room that had come to learn more advanced stuff but they wouldn’t mind doing that stuff again
The reason I started it was because of endless amounts of women who would just assume they wouldn’t be able to fix it themselves even though they Manage to be things like doctors and what have yer
Why do they assume this ?

    I’ve done it
It’s the relentless kicking you will get from racing long stages 5/6 times a day that gets you ,endurance type fitness is good of course but being xc fit isn’t the whole picture, your arms and legs and torso are gonna hurt from constant impact absorbing of the sort you are not going to be used to
How do you train for it ? No idea
    You could try cage fighting
    It’s mint though enjoy

Interest in rough stuff was not just restricted to the CTC. A number of racing clubs would feature a time trial in their programme taking in off road riding. Nationally known was the Balham CC Rough Riders 25, an early season event held in February or March centred on Westerham and Biggin Hill (Kent/Surrey border). During the interwar years it attached many top riders. Time was slow typically the winner doing around 1:44, understandable in view of the terrain.

Off-road riding and racing long before that
Really cool and all that but don’t be giving me the day it all started bollox

I had it as a kid ton and probably the strongest memory I have from it is the look of horror on other people’s faces as you looked out from inside the seizure
Once you’ve had a few you just sort of merrily wait inside for it to pass really
I couldn’t talk for a bit afterwards which used to stress folks out abit as I recall

Northwind if you just take the post apart and reassemble it with fresh oil it usually will be fine if it’s stealth all you need is the ifp depth tool or a bit of pipe with the right forth marked on it
The oil height just needs setting with a syringe and a bit of plastic tube set to the right length

A proper engineer as well, he came over here worked for land rover I think, raced a bit of enduro with us idiots and nonchalantly went home and started that
    Fairly play
