The oil to affect the spring rate goes on top of the air piston
Undo the top cap on the air side and add it in there
About 20 ml to start with

Are you sure you have the dynamic cartridge with the bladder Steve ?
It’s just you are supposed to bleed it from the top whilst dynoing the whole unit as one
It will work ok if you do it your way but you won’t get a completely air free bleed and you will have a bit of a dead spot at the top of the stroke

Plus they can be dry as a bone from new around the foam rings and top seals this can start to feel rubbish after a short while on the bike

If it the one from a 350cr I wouldn’t bleed it like that
You need to bleed it like you would a charger in a pike
