I’ve got them off in the past by hammering a slightly smaller socket over the locking wheel nut . Knackers the socket though!

I love Christmas and, for my sins, I love that advert!
It starts in December for me too though. November is a tad early.

Nomad, you failed to mention what program you were watching when the advert came on……?

Mrs Nomad was watching xfactor. I just happened to be in the room at that moment……. Honest

They’ve certainly got their monies worth from this ad. Seeing it makes me wonder where this years gone! Doesn’t seem 2 minutes since I took the Christmas tree down.

I can’t stand fireworks. They’ve been going off every night round here for the last 3 weeks. Scallies setting them off before its even dark and they keep setting them off up to 1 am.
My Dog is scared shitless of them too.
    Agree they should be banned!

Eyesight is good. She’s as fit as can be.

I’m nervous about it occurring with the kids instead of my Jack Russell though.

Jack Russell is 4 years old. Had him 3 years and both dogs are neutered.
No issues with other dogs but Meg has only recently ( last 8 months) started barking at people. Before that she never barked.

Vet can’t really shed any light on it other than territorial issue. Meg is in good health and has been neutered.

    What peteimpreza says.

waste of money. I got one with my current car. Through the dealer from some shower called AutoProtect.

Had car 3 months and Wheel bearing started humming. I rang them and was told it was covered. Took it to the garage who also rang them and confirmed new wheel bearing required. They told the garage it was only covered if it completely failed.
Thing is, wheel bearing failure/collapse is bloody dangerous and also likely to damage other parts which then wouldn’t be covered through the warranty.

Third party warranties are a con.

Burrs is a lovely site, you wouldn’t believe it was in Bury.
Dogs welcome. Brown cow pub does good beer and food.
Nice walks and there’s a steam train that trundles past a few times a day.
Not cheap though and you may need to be a caravan club member.

Also, it’s a popular site so availability might be an issue.

Rang the dealer today as I’d noticed some movement on his website.
Agreed to meet him to on Monday to get refund.

Sound promising but i can’t help but feel that something is going to go wrong.

Following a conversation with consumer advice, I have again spoken to the dealer.

I have agreed to give him 7 days to get together the money to refund me in full and also the £36 I paid to have it initially diagnosed.

We’ll see what happens next Friday.

    Update

Dropped the car at the dealers yesterday and was given a courtesy car.

He was taking the car to be diagnosed at Marple Motor Company

Got a phone call this morning advising that they have 3 codes coming up regularly on the ECU indicating faults with the throttle, an injector and fuel pressure.

Dealer stated that the issues are all expensive to trace and fix. and there is no guarantee that soemthing else is linked to it and the engine management light would remain off.

He has offered to give me my money back but says he cannot give me the full amount as he doesnt have it available unless he sells mine first
He also offered me a different car and the balance in cash but we’ve now got a caravan so I need a car big enough to pull it and he has nothing that fits the bill.

Can I demand my money back? Im awaiting a call back from Consumer advice helpline.

Well. It’s booked in at Marple Motor Co next Thursday.

I know nothing about these guys but will give them the benefit of the doubt. They will want it for the day so the dealer is giving me a courtesy car which is fair enough.

Looks like I’m driving my mothers car for the next 7 days.

Has anyone had experience of this Marple Motor co and can tell me how honest/good they are?

Dealer told me its probably something and nothing.

Also said he’s going to speak to his garage ( that he said he didn’t have when I asked him about bringing the car to him for initial garage). Slightly wary that if I take it to him to re-inspect he might do something to try and mask the issue rather than fix it but he’s going to have to have the car to verify my local garages findings.

Told him I wanted it fixed or I return the car.

Spoke to CAB consumer service and they advised speaking to credit card company.

Dealer is ringing me back later so I’ll see what he comes up with.

    Update

Leaking coolant is an easy fix. It’s a gasket or split pipe.
Engine management light is a big issue. Loads of codes being displayed and garage reckons its a faulty ECM.

Time to speak to dealer again

Booked it in to my local garage tomorrow. They’re going to plug it in to check the fault codes, and diagnose the coolant leak issue for £30.
I’ll go back to him when I know what the issues are and see what he says.

I bought a second hand Exposure light, had no reciept. One of the LEDs failed and I rang Exposure to enquire if they could help. They told me to send it through to them and it was repaired FOC and back with me very quickly.
    Cant praise them highly enough.

    Ok. Cheers for the responses

Looks like I need to get some quotes for a new clutch then way up if its worth changing the car or getting it done.

Dunno if it makes a difference to the diagnosis but it was slipping in fifth whilst I was trying to accelerate. Not when cruising at a steady speed.

Definitely weird but I’m……..strangely…….quite enjoying it. Even though I haven’t the foggiest what it’s about yet.

    Bizarre.

How about she reverses into the parking space/drive/garage so she can drive out forwards and not need reverse until the car has warmed up a bit?

God no!……. Reverse parking and Mrs N don’t get on!

Drop the handbrake, roll a bit, try again?

Surely this shouldn’t be necessary though?
