Take people and their problems on a case by case basis – The whole “talk about it” thing can too easily come across as a platitude – People do talk all the time about how they want to end things and then follow through with it – I attended a funeral this year – He’d spoken for years about the darkness he encountered- on the face of it he had an OK life – nice girlfriend and a loving family – He was found hanging in a carpark on a cold damp winter’s morning in a London carpark ..

Try a ‘hard reset – long press power button on the console for about 10 seconds- until it turns off console – secondly try unplugging from wall – Then reboot.  .Also you could try deleteting profile and then download it again and then sign in . .

I also build in frame – I started off using the zip tie method- but I now use an even simpler way – I merely place an empty beer can on top of a book  adjacent to the rim – Seems easier to incrementally move than twisting the zip tie inward which often took me a few goes to correctly adjust  – With the can one also get better audible feedback off rim .

Get a tarp over a cheap bivvy- if they don’t breathe well the condensation can be unbearable

Clamp offending tyre in a bench vice – Wiggle back and forth – Add some washing up liquid as you expose rim bead – Repeat whilst incrementally tightening up vice .

If your car camping youll be better off with a closed cell foam mat .

If your a total beginer – It’s really annoying for others at the park – you don’t grasp the etiquette- you get in people’s way etc. Would you turn up at a trail centre if you could only just about ride a bike ? If you want to start skateboarding go find an empty carpark or industrial estate and get a few basics sorted . .

Whichever colour you choose invariably some short ammount of time later you’ll flirt with the idea that a different colour may have been nicer/ worked better . .

Ive had similar issues with my SDG fly – Whilst greasing The rail / carcass interface worked temporarily (The creaking returned after a couple of rides) ive had better success applying loctite 243 .

Pity – I was looking at the 2.6 butcher grid – I thought the carcasses were supposed to be relatively supportive . .

Often seems to be the case IME that plus tyres show low stock on the majority of websites . .  Anybody else noticed this ?

I’d recommend not use the bladder storage compartment of the pack and try packing out the bottom of your pack with lighter gear thus leaving space to position the bladder (the heaviest item) nearer the top . . Hopefully this should better distribute weight closer to your upper body / shoulder area which may help with load carrying . .I don’t personally have issues with a riding pack but putting water at the top of pack is the method i use for hiking with heavy packs . . Also tighten sternum strap .

Classic LBS B.S.  – I’m pretty much done with shops – I’m sure there are some really good ones but most of them suck . For me the biggest issue is them tailoring their advice and service in accordance with stock –  They should either cater to one’s need or be honest and say they can’t help you . .  I think they find most enthusiasts irritating – they just want clueless customers to hand over money on a whim .  That’s not saying i don’t empathize with them in a tough environment because I do – Ive tried all five LBS’s close to me because I wanted to shop local – In the end I just learnt to do everthing myself – money saved on labour goes on tools and now I don’t have to listen someone judging my product choices . .

On Android Ive been able to stop these pop ups by selecting the ‘request desktop site’ opition . . Before i tried that i was getting the pop ups so frequently the site was practically unusable.

Not the most empirical method but I tend to start off with too much pressure and then incrementally let air out until things feel about right – I feel it’s not difficult to become adept at squeezing tyres to approximate good pressures-  Also tyre carcasses make a massive difference to what works for me – Its a fools game running super low pressure on thin sidewalls . .

Commuting is tough on clothing – Ive found it better to stick to cheaper clothes or just deal with the wear and tear – if you can get by with water resistant as opposed to ‘waterproof’ proper then maybe go for a Polartech Powerstretch type garment – very resilient to abrasion – Or just go for a cheap syntetic sports top and if its colder put other layers on underneath – Very liberating accepting that getting soaked through is no big deal . .

Recently propositioned my LBS to sell me DT comps if they could double check my spoke calculations as Im doing my first nice wheel build – they’ve agreed but didnt seem overjoyed and said its not something they usually do – £1.40 a spoke – nipples included but I’d like to use black brass nipples so I’d be buying these on top – all seems expensive for sure . .

I used to get rim tape to accurately fit rim bed but Ive found using wider tape and then cutting with a really sharp blade better – With wider tape you can cut tape right up to the upper height of the rim bead . .

If you get a tarp with a sufficient coverage you don’t need a bivvy . . Go for a summer weight synthetic bag which won’t be that warm but will offer relatively low bulk – Stay warm by sleeping in your jacket – And some warm thermal leggings – Cheap but half decent IMO are Uniqlo HeatTech . . The Marmot NanoWave bags can be picked up for about £60 –  Regarding cheap sleeping pads I personally would stay away from inflatable as the cheap ones tend to be non insulated which can offer very little warmth – For this reason a closed cell foam just works although they are a bit bulky – Mylar/Space Blankets can boost mat efficiency – Maybe an inslated mat is the one area you could spend a bit more on ? I think a warm mat is one thing not worth compromising on . .  So for £200 I’d spend £100 on a mat / £40 on tarp (DD3X3) and £60 on bag . .

I’d second the above pertaining to chilling on the soya – you could perhaps  up the ammount of roughage  – I’d personally be eating lots of oats .. Another thing is to make sure your alkaline promoting foods are in abundance – I like lots of squeezed lemon and once a day a  tea spoon of bicarbonate of soda in water – you say you’ve only recently gone vegan – if the catalyst for doing so has in part been stress related remember how stress can be very acid inducing.  .

Only get the thin sidewalls if you enjoy patching or replacing and having a general faff with all things tubeless – 2018 is all about tough carcasses for me . .

I’ve  smashed 3 s7 edge handsets- replaced through EE insurance – I even pleaded to no avail to switch models to a potentially less fragile phone – but EE wouldn’t budge – so im stuck on a cracked phone until contract is up – i will not get another glass backed phone . .

Whilst fit is of utmost importance don’t overlook eva midsole cushioning – with something like the 3 peaks you’ll be mostly   sticking to well trodden hardpack footpaths and you won’t be carrying a huge pack weight – Maybe a good trail runner would be better than  a hiking boot?  – Ultimately it’s on you – My own recommendation would be the Salewa Mtn Trainer Mid GTX – Not only does it score very highly in reviews but Salewa issue a ‘no blisters guarantee’ : If you get blisters in the first two weeks you get your money back . .  Couple this with silk sock liners – some plasters / tape and some walking poles and things should be good – Can’t recommend walking poles enough – they really do help with fatigue.

My biggest issue is tailgating –  what is the situation pertaining to legality? Could one use  rear dash cam footage as evidence ?

I like holding onto my kit – And so when I purchase a dream frameset – which I hope will be a rigid custom steel – I’ll be more than happy to hold onto it forever – keeping up with the latest standards in axles and diameters etc doesn’t interest me in the slightest . But if i knew i was someone who always craved a change in kit I wouldn’t bother building a dream bike ..
