Seems like a lot of folk are leaving a load of steer tube – on that premise I’ve got 35mm – feels good but it just looks wrong – wouldn’t have been better fo make the forks a touch taller ? Always preferred the feel of flat bars but I’m thinking trim some steer tube and get some riser bars .
You gain weight your pretty quickly loosing posture then core strength is breached then your kinetic chain is thrown plus your breathing capacity is diminished and invariably your power output drops – Weight loss is massively performance enhancing unless your already at optimum body mass – which most hobbyists aren’t .. When I’m overweight I think diet is more important than intense exercise – If your eating super clean the weight will fall of with moderate exercise ..

I’ll concede that a wet suit augments performance and in a competitive event I’d probably wear one myself but if one is just in it for the experience of swimming in a natural environment I wouldn’t bother – Cold water is a great fat burner and also great for circulation. Each to their own – you could even wear a dry suit if it works for you .. I get a buzz out of bracing one’s self for the initial shock of the cold – takes one’s breath away momentarily and pushes you to really work hard through your strokes ..
I used to open water swim a few times a week – but the quarry I used to do it in clamped down on it – really felt the health benefits – a wet suit would I believe compromise the experience – I managed to get acclimated to the water temperatures through the seasons to the point I swam New Year’s Day whilst it was snowing – one feels amazing when you dry off – gives you a really healthy glow .. But if your not too comfortable without the wet suit wear one maybe for the first couple of times ..
Next Gen still has zero momentum IMO – everything that has been hyped has been anticlimactic to say the least – fancy graphics that actually don’t deliver past the promotional demos which generally run on more powerful computers that we consumers use – and frame rates never as good as we’re led to believe – And we’re constantly being told all these teething issues are to be resolved – feels like being a gamer in 2015 is all about being perpetually suckered by the industry – I’d also like some AAA titles that weren’t so dumbed down that anyone can pick up a controller and be half decent in one session – the combat mechanics these days are generally designed to be idiot proof – Naughty Dog and the Coalition are the only studios I’m backing right now ..

If your worrying about dropping curbs might be a good idea to worry about technique .. Surely it’s going to take a really ugly approach to break even the weakest forks down curbs? – If this is the case slow right down and roll down it or get some new forks ..
I think once one gets super old – providing one is taking things steady- it’s safer to be riding trails than roads .. Maybe I’m biased though as I hate road riding ..
I’m currently running Ralph 2.4 / 2.25 – These replaced Geax Barro 2.0’s and they were great tyres – really cheap – low rolling resistance – great tubeless and came up really big considering they were only “2.0” ..
