+1 For Tony.(JEDI) He taught my wife before Mountain Mayhem last year and she went from being a total novice to be confident enough to take part in her first 24hr race as part of a team of experienced riders. She’s a completely different rider now – confident on technical xc rides and even managed a few runs in the bike park in Verbier last summer. Really can’t recommend him highly enough to new riders.
She still tells me she hears him in her head as she’s approaching a technical section and you can hear her saying ‘Looking’ or ‘Footwork’ sometimes – makes me laugh but has given her the performance cues she needs.

Father in law flew vulcans. Frequently went ‘Full nuclear’ with no return flight available. They were trained to turn south and head for Africa. Imagine being sent up with mission orders, knowing that there wouldn’t be anything to come back to. Only to be told it was an exercise at the last moment.

Plenty of water, weather forecast for round here (hertford) says highs of 18 degrees. Today it was 22. Take plenty of drinks and remember to actually drink them whenever your not on your bike. Take a tube, any major mechanicals can be sorted by Edd in stevenage – 10 mins away in the car.
Might see you there, hoping to get out for a cheeky afternoon 20 mins at the field.

Brought in by Ison Distribution in Cambridge. Give ’em a call, nice people. They’ll see you right. Ison own Billys in Cambridge – bike shop. Maybe call them and ask for a price. Were some special offers doing the rounds a few months back.

So the BFe is a nice bike no doubt, but its built tough. For long slogs around dartmoor you’d be having more fun on something a little more lively. If you want a Cotic then the Soul is a nice XC bike, a friend of mine had one and it was really nice. If you want to run longer forks then look at a transam perhaps. But there’s loads of nice hardtails out there. My one word of caution would be dont buy one thats too overbuilt if you’re going to be doing xc stuff on it.

I like how he was a ‘factory’ sponsored rider for Transition “back in the day…” The factory being Kyle and Kevin’s houses, and the sponsorship amounting to the UK distro at the time (very dodgy geezer in Leeds) giving Elbry a used Dirtbag frame that had done the rounds as a Magazine test mule.
He’s like the UK Wade Richard Simmons

Well its a Facebook owners/fans group that gets 5% off of everything on Edgeactionsports.com so technically no, sorry dude.

Being a member helps us promote the brand, lets us connect with members and brand fans about special offers, upcoming uplift days, events etc and shows our support to the guys in the USA. There might be opportunities outside of facebook in the future, which I’ll post up as and when they happen, however at the moment, making it facebook only is a bit of a no brainer.

I’m trying to keep the content fresh and interesting, definitely not spamming people, and hopefully everyone thats on there will benefit from showing an interest and saying they like the brand. If you want to contribute then please do, we have a few guys from around the country posting up pics and videos, which helps make it an interesting place to hang out.

Apparently he’s a coach now. There’s a promo video doing the rounds where he skids around loads of corners. Too funny.

HAve an older model Blindside and its snug, no need to pinch it together. Sounds like you’ve either had your rear end splayed (fnaar) or its possibly poorly aligned from the factory. Try removing the shock, put a wheel in the frame and make sure the wheel takes a vertical path as you cycle the linkage through its range of motion. Its a pretty common manufacturing defect and one which a lot of people wouldn’t notice – however it will over time splay the back of the bike. Straight forward warranty if its either and its new. Take it back and claim shenanigans…

put the helmet on your head, and do up the strap. Hold the mouth guard area lightly and attempt to turn your head inside the helmet. The cheek pads should immediately stop any rotation and the mouth guard should be being pulled out of your had BEFORE any significant rotation of your head.

Fit should be snug, and comfortable without any one area being pressured by the shell of the helmet.

Try a few different brands, I use a Troy Lee despite being able to get Kali at trade. The Kali helmets are awesome and so so light. Tony and a load of the others I ride with use ’em. I’ve just got a massive noggin so run the Troy Lee in Carbon. Don’t buy the cheapest you can, try loads on, pick the one you want.

PS doing up the strap ensures that the sides are properly supported when trying it out for fit. Leaving them undone allows the helmet ‘sides’ to flex

Fisher’s are also excellent and very fair in my experience. Sent a set of Pikes to them that shouldn’t really have been knackered as they were only 8 months old but I’d hammered them in Finalé. They checked ’em over – was fairly obvious they’d had a hard life, sent them back fixed with updated cartridges all sorted. No charge.

Similar lines I guess, not quite the same though. Linkage and stuff is different and the downtube is straight on the 66. Up close the level of detail on the Covert is pretty awesome.

Not an expert by any means, but can testify that Brookbank are excellent. Really helpful. I recently got rid of my whitewater kayak as I never used it, it’s a pain in the A*se on steady water as it never tracked straight.

Last summer I Got a take apart Point 65 Martini that I stick in the car and take down the river in the evenings. Great fun. Took it to Scotland last August, pootled around in Loch Hourn catching Mackerel in the evenings. Love it.

Have the an 08 TTiD 93 and its been awesome, a very quick, very understated workhorse. I dont use it every day, only really at weekends and to see clients once or twice a week. Blats down the motorway at silly speeds and swallows 2 bikes and all our kit without any problem at all.
Servicing isn’t cheap – I use an independent specialist in Waltham Cross that came highly recommended. They’re a bit rough ’round the edges, but they know their Saabs and have always looked after me.
If you go for a TTiD, pony up for the MAPTun chip(£500), turns it into a bit of a monster, superb for A-road overtakes and 145mph+
Plenty of parts available if you ask the right specialists, (dont ask Saab UK, they’re incompetent) however the brand is now gone for all intents and purposes, so I’ll be swapping mine out at the end of the summer for Vito van. -need something bigger now. I’ll miss it.

We had the 320 variant for 2 years. Replaced an older range rover – went wrong all the time in those 2 years, was a nightmare, parents couldn’t wait to get shot of it.

I’ve not ridden either, although we have had both at Herts over the years. As many of you will know, Herts is a bit of a meat grinder for bikes. We had guy with a Nicolai sheer through its linkage bolts there… never seen another bike break like this. Literally the bolts broke in half inside the linkage.
