People are scared of what they don’t understand. I’ve had depression since I was 7, 41 years. The friends you do manage to make turn their backs because you can’t go out & socialise. The stigma from the Victorian era is still strong in the general public too.

The Halfords” mechanics” I’ve met have less mechanical knowledge than our 6 year old. My mates turn up before every Xmas for me to check their kids new Halfords specials over. But the staff at our local one are really helpful 😁

The boss turned up at mine & I explained that an unsafe load can lose the driver their licence . He was very apologetic & offered pay for the small scrapes the box left on my bonnet.

I got my Kona shred off an FB selling page. The bloke selling it was pretty precise with the details. He told me about the fault & said he couldn’t figure it out. 40 quid & a few hours later I had a nice bike 😁. But there’s loads of obviously nicked ones on there. There’s a certain surname in my area that anyone with morals will avoid like the plague. They crop up quite a bit with ” I’m selling this bike,needs work. They’re normally home painted with mismatched parts from Halfords specials to top end parts 🙄

4 month’s. I paid up front for a Scott full suspension from the local bike shop. I didn’t know he’d been blacklisted by all the major suppliers. So I wait & wait. I got fed up & went to get my money back. The shop owner has also scammed his own dad out of 250.000 quid & was up to his neck in debt. I ended up with a ” Barracuda big momma downhill bike” he had in the window. It was so bad that the back tyre hit the Frame under full compression. That put me off mtbing for a while after the bike ditched me a few times because of the awful design.😡

A vast amount of rich brexiteers are moving their money/ business abroad. Johnson,Rees mogg,etc. They know the country’s going to s£*it brexit. But they’re loaded so losing the NHS , schools , human & animal rights etc won’t affect them one bit 🙄

When I was working on the roofs a vicar had a new roof put on the vicarage. The vicar refused to pay for it. So after a couple of months of non negotiation we went & took it off. It got in the local paper 😁. The vicar got loads of bad press & all the local builders boycotted him.🤣

Mines for towing a car. I was worried about it not being stretchy enough ( after I’d ordered it 🙄) but it seems pretty much perfect. It’s got locking hooks on each end & is rated up to 2 tons😁 . Our little un really struggles on the uphills, he’s got a Halfords Mx lookalike . He wants a proper MTB,but can’t figure out the gears ( nor can his mum 🤣 ) . I can keep it in the car for incase I get stuck too. But my cars a Subaru outback,so that’s unlikely. I’ll report back once I’ve dragged him up the local hills.

They’re designed to make it awkward & make you take it to the deal,who pay the manufacturer for the priveledge. Think of the 200 quid & what you’ll spend it on 😁. I did all corners on my 02 Subaru outback it was a right arse 🤪.but it saved me about £450 😁. I prefer to sort the car myself , paying £ 150 an hour labour charges winds me up.

My lifted 02 Subaru outback. It’s built like a tank,has loads of room, goes where I want it to but lacks in acceleration.. 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds would be fun. & There’s plenty of room on the roof for solar panels 😁

My dad’s mate filled his mini ( real one,not BMW) with diesel. He pushed it onto the verge,got a couple of passing blokes to help & turned it on its side to drain the diesel out. Worked a treat 😁

This has stirred up some memories. Our head was a 5ft scrawny sadist. I had the cane a few times. He’d run across his ” study” & put all his might into trying to break your hand. The first time I had the cane he asked if I was left or right handed. I thought quickly & said left. ( I’m right handed) . He snapped the cane in the 3rd stroke. I had to go back the next day for the next 3 I couldn’t write for a fortnight 🤣 I got 12 lashes for pointing out he had a semi during one of the beatings 🙄After I left. I saw him in the street. I’m 6ft & was a full on punk at the time. I went over to the withered old fart & said ” You gave me the cane” from about 2 inches from his face. He literally shrank then scuttled off. Horrible little demon of a man 😐

I was sent to the deputy heads office. I sat there for a couple of hours,then spotted a bottle of whiskey in a cupboard. So I went & had a nose. There were hundreds of fags in there too 😁. So I nicked the fags & whiskey. The deputy heads nicked em off the kids ,so it’s ok for me to nick em off him. I sold the fags & spent a week at school half cut. Like most of the teachers. I also got suspended for a haircut 🙄. Just tramlines,but by then the teachers had developed a deep seated hatred for me. A kid with Billy Idols haircut walked past the headmasters office while my dad was discussing my treatment. My dad pointed it out. The head said “but that’s different”. I enjoyed the time off.😊. I ended up getting expelled for ” disrupting others education”. I weren’t violent,just annoying . The violent kids had absolutely nothing done to them . This has left me with a mistrust of ” authority”. But hey. I went back to do my exams, green mohawk,studded jacket,chains doc Martin’s etc. A 5 ft teacher started mouthing off at me for not wearing uniform. ( I’d been expelled for a couple of months) I’m 6ft,so told him to f*£k off . He backed off. I passed all my exams. Went on to tech,got some more passes . I learnt more from my dad than the egotistical **** that called themselves teachers.

I’m with alpin in this. The cops can’t be bothered,the insurance companies can’t either. The cops have the details . So if you’re taken to court for ,let’s say slashing 4 tyres & breaking his car windows. You can get the cops involved to show the evidence you’ve given them. A hit & run is much more serious than some minor vandalism. I don’t think the cops would even prosecute. It’d show their incompetence.🙄

I’ve had BPD, anxiety & depression for decades. My dad noticed something change when I was 7. I’m 48 now. I’ve cut ,overdosed ,drank 4 litres of vodka & had my tongue pulled out of my throat by a stranger because I was choking on it. The list goes on. For a lot of us it’s not a passing phase. Like someone mentioned. You feel a burden,a waste of space, a hindrance, so empty that you feel like you don’t exist. Getting help in the UK is a nightmare. I waited 14 months for 1 appointment. Then I saw a mental health worker for 2 months. I was passed on to another department. They didn’t bother sending the letters out about my next appointments & now I’ve got to wait another 14 weeks to see the Same woman I saw in the first place. People say they care, but they don’t make the effort to see you,even when they know you’re so messed up you can’t leave the house. I was driving around for a couple of months with 200 yards of rope in the car. I planned on putting the rope round a tree, round my neck & driving off at full belt. I did research into decapitation. It takes 4 seconds for the brain to die once the heads off. But I kept thinking of our little un wondering why dad topped himself. He’s the only thing keeping me here. Seek help if you can find it. Talk to anyone who’ll listen. This time of year is awful for people with mental illness. Debt, loneliness, thinking of dead friends & relatives,even lack of sunlight. Don’t let the ignorant get to you. Try not to give up.

I rode to the nearest phone ( yes, im old). When a blokes handlebar snapped,he destroyed his lid & had a fit 😬☹️. My mate waited with him whilst I was knocking on doors a mile away. & A bloke had a dozy **** just pull out in front of him at the junction outside our house. I heard the crunch from in the house. I directed traffic around him. Just stood in the road swearing at car drivers basically. They didn’t like having to drive a few more feet to avoid running over the poor sod that was lay in the rd 🙄
