A fave trick of mine is to sit down with a bowl of something you want her to eat (usually fruit) and start eating it whilst ignoring her, but making some ‘ooh this is lovely’ noises.

It’s never, ever long before she’s up wanting to devour all you have.

I really like Dalbeattie Simon, especially if you go with John Henry and ride all the wee local knowledge trails!. Kirroughtree is a cracker, I’m not going to say it’s better than GT, but I personally enjoy it more.

FWIW I think that Drumlanrig is better in the wet, when it’s dry (admittedly not too often) it’s just not got it’s edge.

    stupid idea Mr Hope

Indeed, when I contacted hope re the gouges, they said that during their market research, the main thing that us folks wanted was weeniness. What they didn’t add was that they never actually said, ‘it’ll be very light, but so is emmenthal!’

I’m sure folks who race, backed by sponsors, won’t mind buying new freehub bodies all the time, but the average Joe (who they make their cash from) bloody does.

An organisation headed by a former Nazi (is it possible to be a ‘former’ nazi?)

An organisation who had the chance to warn many jewish peoples of their ensuing torment, and didn’t.

An organisation who still tell people in africa not to bother with a rubber.

Religious groups have far too much power, these folks don’t have to go through the same disclosure processes that we would have to do, to be in a position of responsiblity with kids.

    Why are we surprised.

Charcoal. Using a gas BBQ is just like hauling your cooker outside. I’m an old romantic, it may be more hassle, but charcoal is always better.

Gravel rash is ok mate, surprisingly. I’m not convinced that I haven’t cracked a rib, a week later and it’s getting sorer to lift the wee lass!.

Yes, Looks like we just managed to put the ball in the net, and that’s about it. Strachan wants his head read for playing the wee maloney fella. I think the main difference is that we have 2 good centre halves, albeit that one of them is slower than me!.

As for Crosas, he may have slept with a player, but he aint got it.

The frames are perfectly fine. If you’re fitting HTII you’ll need them faced that is all. It sounds like that LBS was talking tripe

If the frames were perfectly fine, why did they not ever ask for them back? Can small companies like this chuck money down a drain? I spent 2 days and every size of bb I could get my hands on and couldn’t get a workable chainline, then took it to Walkers cycles in Kilmaurs, mechanic posts on here as spannerman, and he was tearing his hair out!.

Trekster will let you know the other guy’s story, IIRC he is from carlisle and he had the exact same issue.

    Some folk on here….

Sorry it’s taken this long for me to post up, Spent the last week being nightshift, picking gravel out of my arm, shoulder, hip etc..!, and trying to get my legs back into some kind of semblance for last nights Troon 10k.

Some nice pics from sunday’s ride.

Gary on the Coire chash descent.

That same descent visible toward the left of this pic.

    Pondering the ensuing waterbarfest!.

Stuartie_c Nailing the last part of the Capel Mounth.

Thanks a lot to Stuart for coming up with what was a cracking weekend, and everyone else for being right good company and for waiting on me hauling my fat erse up even the slightest incline!. Maybe not riding for 2 months wasn’t the best preparation for 2 big days in the hills!. Stupid pr1ck!.

Looking forward to the next one, hopefully Aviemore as I’d like to do Carn ban mor again, just not at -10 deg next time.

The only sour taste left was having to go to work on sunday night after not getting home til gone 8pm, longest nightshift ever.

Greg. (the one who was very slow uphill, and very slow downhill, not the other Greg!).

Don’t mean to alarm you, your’s may be ok, but I only know 2 people who bought one of these frames, both couldn’t get *any* size bb to fit, both ended up going to lbs for advice.

In both cases, the lbs advised that there was a problem with the manufacturing of the frame, as they couldn’t get anything to fit either.

When my mate finally got a hold of someone from pipedream (quite an achievement btw) they immediately sent out a new frame, and didn’t ask for the old one back. The other guy who had the same problem still has his frame lying in his garage too.

As I say, your’s may be nothing to do with this, may have been a bad batch or whatever, just to let you know. I know my mate is very happy with his now.

Lookin forward to a beer or two on sat night, as by then I will have abstained for three weeks.

    It’s full of ignorant ****.

I hadn’t been for a couple of years, but bit the bullet and took the 2 hour drive down recently.
Got to the Hub about 8am, climbed up to the buzzards nest and was standing looking at the new wall of death style thingys in the freeride area, and this bloke pulls upnext to me. ‘Morning, how you doing’ or words to those effect from me, absolutely sod all from him. and it descended from there all day.

    It is polluted with bawbags.

I know a fellow biker who is a member of strathclydes finest constabulary. Works with a bloke who had a Kona full susser his wife didn’t know about. He used to tell her he was going in to work overtime, kept his bike at the station, and he’d go out and ride instead!!.

His name was Nick, for anyone that may know him.

Talking of raised beds, how high and what do you fill ’em with?

I’m thinking about 16″, but not sure what to use as soil. Thinking top soil mixed with well rotted horse manure?.

My riding buddy has let me doon, again, so I’ve booked a single bed (hope not to get landed next to the fighting snoring stuartie!, although I’ve been known to utter the odd snort myself, so i’ll bring some top notch ear plugs.)

Looking forward to it, though I’ll need to get some proper miles in, only been running in preparation for a couple of 10k’s this last wee while.

I think a lot of the problem is heat escaping via the metal cleat, it seems to be the area of my foot that gets cold first, whereas people who use flatties tend not to have as cold feet.
