I’m the same height and a 545mm top tube is good for me. I injured my L5/S1 and have permanent numbness etc, so in a similar position.

    No they aren’t.
They will twist you around everywhere without any evidence of what is wrong.
Go get a MRI done and see medical staff, not a quack.

I’m 42 and doing a carpentry apprenticeship now.

I think you have to be extremely lucky to get on one at my age to be honest unless you are already in a job where they need someone trained or you know someone that will give you the opportunity.

To be honest, it seems like these people do it for a reaction then post it on Youtube. Both ****.

To add, the face plant made my day 🙂

Hardtail is the only way to go there, maybe a CX bike I suppose.

Yep, useless bar stewards they are, I’d never have another Orange.
    Was the QR on mine.

My dealings with Orange weren’t great. My bike was visibly out of alignment and the shop agreed with this. The shop sent the bike back to Orange as they do (very helpful shop by the way) and Orange phoned me with……” It’s within our tolerances, because it’s hand built it’s hard to get them perfect”, to which I asked what their tolerances are. 5MM was the answer, FIVE millimeters!!!!! Are they serious?

    Never again.

I had a Boardman 29er, it was a really good bike to be honest. I’d go for it.

As the Solaris isn’t all that compliant I’d go for a full build off the shelf job from another company if I was getting a 29er.

I think the problem with the newer steel bikes is that the CEN rating has made them over built and there isn’t much of the steel zing. I rode an old Kona the other day and it was way more forgiving than my MK3 Soul.

I like that you say it rides like a bike and the stem makes no difference 🙂 This means you aren’t a follower of fashion and the associated bollocks.

I have these and they are ace for what they are, also have the jigsaw which isn’t so ace as it eats the battery really quickly.

Wickes price match locally and knock an extra 10% off.

when did “swap out” become a thing? Is it going to stay with us, going forwards?

    Agreed. Americanisms upset me.

i already bought a 42T plus 16T plus rad cage off seller kevbevham last week (all in £30 which i thought was a bargain) and it arrived fine and looks legit. the guy seems to have quite a few of the 42T plus 16T which he seems to list a couple at a time. It maybe seems a bit fishy but i ordered another 42T plus 16T earlier today off same seller so hopefully there isn’t a problem
Hmmm! Then sold them without the cage for the same price.

That’s what they said to me, I sent them back. They were pretty tacky anyway, the caps were made of cheap, thin plastic and so was the rebound knob.
