You can get a locking wheel nut remover from halfords, you will need a vice to get it out of the tool.

    UMMM, just to add,

i have owned VPP and 4/faux bar frames and find them better at a lot of things (square edge hits etc) compared to a single pivot but also find them dull and un-involving as they seem to take my input out of the ride

long live the single pivot, lots of fun to ride.

    Exactly 😀

I’ve ridden FS bikes since 1996 and I have had errr lots (trade price perks)single pivots, 4 bars, vpp etc. The last one was a Trance X that I had for 2 years with a Pushed shock, plush – yeah, involving no, not really. It is a good design however I’m very glad to have bought my Heckler. It for me is more involving and rewarding to ride, this rubbish about the rear stiffening under braking is very over hyped, if you drag your brakes every downhill then yes I suppose it isn’t quite as effective as the maestro system but not really that noticeable tbh. It does climb better, infact, back in the days of Proflex it was marketed that they dig in and that still stands, it does add traction compared to the multi pivots.

I rode a Five for long enough for me to be exhausted and really didn’t get on with it as the sizing wasn’t right for me however it did make me think how clever the bike companies are at selling their products. The Five works, so does the Heckler and so does the Giant and countless others…..personal preference springs to mind 🙂

My Trance X bearings were shot in 6 months, I thought it was the best bike in the world until I got my new one…now that is the best and it only has 2 bearings 🙂

Made this loads of times, tonight infact!

    Ingredients:
    1 green pepper, chopped fine
    2 large onions, chopped fine
    1 clove garlic, chopped fine
1 Tbsp. butter or olive oil
3 or 4 Tbsp. chili powder or better, red dried chilies
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. coriander
    1 tsp. cumin seed
    1 tsp. oregano
2 lbs. ground or chopped beef
    1 (21oz.) can tomatoes
    1 cup water
    2 Tbsp. suagr
    2 tsp. salt
    1 square unsweetened chocolate
2 (15oz.) cans chili beans or red kidney beans
    Directions:
Fry onion, green pepper and garlic in fat until golden brown and
    transparent.

Mix chili powder, flour, and all the herbs together and stir into onion
mix. Cook 3 minutes, then add the tomatoes and water. (One large can
tomato juice can be used in place of the tomatoes and water.)

Simmer and season with sugar, salt, and chocolate, stir until dissolved
    and cook an hour longer.

The sauce will be about like gravy. It may be thinned with tomato juice.

Brown the beef and add to the sauce. Cook about an hour.

Add the beans and cook until blended.
    Serves 6-8.
/Better if served the next day or make the sauce one day and finish the
    next./

Starts out feeling like a strain, you will know if you have one, place your fingers on it and cough. Mine felt like a strain then 6 months later it was a big lump that you could push back in.

Proves the point that it's just a bit of paper, go on a course for 2 weeks and you're a fully fledged mechanic…….. don't think so, it just means that they should be able to assemble a cycle safely.
