I went to hill 60, that has a museum across the road, hill 62 (Sanctuary Wood), also has a museum and trenches etc. Went to Ypres(Ieper) and the Menin Gate Memorial. There is loads of stuff over there, there was even shells piled up on the edges of fields.

I’d say a 2012 Zesty, hopefully they won’t break around the bottom bracket shell like the 2011 ones. Whatever you do don’t get a Heckler, get a Five 😆

What happens if you get one from Germany and it breaks? Do Fishers warranty it?

Wow, there are some cocks around aren’t there!?

I don’t give them the time of day even if I’m on a road bike
How do you differentiate between ‘you’ and ‘them’? How do you know if they’re not a mountain biker, on his first ever road ride? Are they not good enough for you because ‘they’ wear lycra? You sound like a far bigger **** than the OP!
Because they all ride in a big ROAD CLUB you c**t

Yes, I’d sell them. Thursday was ages ago, he can’t want them that much.

Why are all roadies such bitchy, cliquey, gossiping, moaning, joyless humourless, posing elitist ****ts obsessed with proving themselves and/or deriding anyone else at any opportunity?

Oh so true, all the roadies here love each other and themselves, I don’t give them the time of day even if I’m on a road bike. In fact I used to work at a place that has a road track and I have to say they are weird, they wax their legs ffs 😀

40D has a dynamic range of 9EV, what are you trying to compare it to, a Sony A55 as is it has a dynamic range of 9EV?

So a 500D is better than a 40D is it? Ummm no, IQ on the 40D id far better.

Forget the cheapies, get a second hand Canon 40D body for around £350 and a second hand lens, 50mm F1.8 or a is kit lens. It will urinate all over 500d, d3100 etc, no mucking about with going through menus to get to the often used settings and it feels like a camera rather than a lump of plastic.

I have just got a CycleOps Fluid 2 and the thing is evil, a big change from my Elite Voltaire Mag which was pretty easy even on max resistance and 53/12

V brake levers work fine with caliper brakes, they don’t work with cantilever brakes.

Ribble = no provenance, says “look at me, I’m cheap” like a Carrera.

Best bet is, if it’s a 17.5, swap it for my 28.5lb Heckler 😆

How have you got the suspension set up? I test rode one and it felt like a long travel EX tbh in sprightlyness rather than wallowy.

Other thing I should have said is I have about 20mm layback on the seat post (it’s an I-beam). This may mean I’m compensating for the frame being too short

    Yep 😆

I have 2011 Revelation RL 150mm and they are pretty good, I’d go for a blackbox damped one if I were to buy again….or those black Fox 36 with the funky gold coating. If you are future proofing you may as well buy a frame now with a tapered steerer 😀

It’s second hand and well out of the warranty period, what do you expect 🙄

Anto, this may sound counterintuitive, but if it loosens off like that, then you’re overtightening it – firstly, only ever set the bearing tension in the frame, ready to ride, and tighten it so that there’s a tiny amount of free movement when its unladen (play is taken up when rider gets on) – back it off slightly from where you would normally set it

Wrong, the bearing should have slight play when out of the frame, then the pressure of the wheel being clamped will take out the play if adjusted correctly.
