Yes my company is involved in Wills and Probate, depending on how fast the grant of probate is applied for you would normally expect the whole estate resolved in 6 months.

Obviously if there is a property to sell then this can string things out a bit, a prudent executor (the person administering the estate) would not normally distribute the estate before the six month point as they have to allow time for the receipt of any claims against the estate.

Your inheritance should be saved by Section 33 of the wills act that provides that ‘Gifts to children or other issue who leave issue living at the testators death shall not lapse’

In the real world that means that your late Father’s share will be divided equally between you and your siblings.

Unless the will specifically excludes section 33 or has any other contrary provisions.

This also works where there is no will and you are relying on the intestacy provisions as laid down by the Administration of Estates Act.

These are the rules in England and Wales.

I ripped the door off a wardrobe and threw it at my wife – in 1988 (it missed). Been a placid soul ever since, but she occasionally reminds me of my tendancy towards domestic violence.

and Copper Bracelets with magnets in them stop your hip joints from wearing out and are worth the dodgy looking green ring that appears round your arm whenever it gets slightly warm.

The second one is definitely true.

He has always been a bit of a hero of mine, I have seen him dozens of times and he can be awesome, or a bit moody/ sulky.

I saw him in Manchester last year and he really looked and sounded like he couldn’t be bothered.

I have read quite a bit about him and it seems that his biggest fear is that he will become ‘his own tribute band’. There are dozens of 80’s bands doing the circuit now who have fallen into that trap – at least he comes up with new stuff all the time, however patchy it may be.

10 – 12 weeks for me, 8 weeks were in plaster so couldn’t. Next few weeks were a combination of bit sore and lost bottle.

Then got back on bike and forgot what all the fuss had been about.

For my business I have my own domain – much less hassle and looks professional.

However at home I have changed ISP’s three times and as a result have an @tesco.net, @f2s.com and @sky.com e-mail address, first two pop3 last one IMAP. Outlook is configured to collect all 3 but will only send from the current one (Sky). It is probably 10 years since I paid tesco anything – certainly pre broadband, but the e-mail addresses all still work. So I am not sure you will have a problem, and people will get used to your new e-mail as you begin to send with it.

You need to go on the law society website and use the find a solicitor section. This will help you find who took them over.

We have two of the top ten in the UK in our village (depending which competition you enter) Linfords Traditional Fish and Chips and The Boundary, both in Market Deeping, one only 75 yards from my front door, which is a problem!!!

The Boundary is the best chip shop IMHO, but Paul Linford who owns the other one comes riding with my group every week.

I have tried Excel, and it’s a bit too basic for what we need, don’t have Access, so would need to buy that as well.

    Anything else I should consider?

No, I am not in a formal club, but part of an informal group of about 20 cyclists that sometimes ride together, and then again sometimes don’t. Three meet up’s per week Tuesday, Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings if you can make it great, if you can’t never mind.

Can’t see the point of anything more.

After much discussion between myself and my better half and my very own ‘what coffee machine’ thread on here, we took the plunge – and for us the answer was Gaggia Brera – had it 6 or 8 months now and have loved every cup.

Another vote for M&S – I wear a suit everyday for work and theirs are simply the best value I have come across. As I am a non standard size tall, smallish waist largish chest the fact that the Jackets and Trousers are not paired up in standard sizes is a great help, and for everyday use you can buy two pairs of trousers and one jacket.

It’s personal choice, I didn’t like the Ed Sheeran bit, thought the Kaisers were better at being the Who than the Who, loved Fat Boy Slim and then thought the Who were great anyway. I wanted to be snooty about Jessie J but really enjoyed it.

Overall it was a great party on TV and I would have loved to have been there.

As far as I know, if you ask your local authority for a Section 47 Care assessment they are obliged to carry this out.

Charities are a very personal thing, I think we all have our own reasons for supporting those that we do, but a good UK based one is http://www.clapa.com/about_us/ the Cleft Lip and Palate association.

When arranging a life insurance policy you should always ask your adviser to put the potential benefits in trust so that they will pass wide of your estate. If he is a proper adviser he will have already explained this to you in the first instance (if not then your estate could have a claim for misselling after you die and pay Inheritance Tax on the proceeds).

The proceeds of a life policy not going into trust form part of your estate and are taxable (40% over £325000) so the life policy you arranged to pay off your mortgage could end up 40% short.

There are thousands of policies not written in trust and the government does very nicely from inheritance tax charged on these.

Oh and declaring an interest – as a Will Writer – make a will, its easy, cheap and very important.

    A cautionary tale

Some Very Good Friends of hours bought a pub 6 years ago and sold it last year. During that time the business was very busy, great food trade and a steady wet trade (no accommodation), they worked 6am to midnight 6 days a week, and on the seventh (tuesday in their case) they had the morning off and did the accounts, so just midday to midnight Tuesdays. They got by, managed to pay their staff and got out with only £50K more debt than they went in with.

He put on weight, his health suffered, she nearly died from a combination of stress induced heart issues, they never socialised – just hosted, rarely saw their friends other than as customers.

They enjoyed the experience to start with but it soon ground them down.

Just be sure it is what you want to do.
