Im running middleburn 7s on my decade virsa 1×9 with an uno chainring. The Paul chainkeeper fouls the crank arms when you have it set in the correct posistion over the chainring. Had to take as hacksaw to the out flange of the chainkeeper to allow it to clear the crank arm which was a bit of a shame but seems ok now. Saying that I havn't but it back on yet but run the chain quite short (plus 1 link rather than 2) and havn't dropped the chain yet even over rough s.wales rocky natural trails.

ta for the above. The Paul chainkeeper looks the way to go if I can find one.

Seem to be unavailable in the UK. Freshstipe appear to be the only source and they are out of stock.

Very straightforward and pleasant especially the down from the bwlch itself. You gain some high ground so take the normal precautions re mountain weather. 3-4 hours. There are much better trails in the Beacons and Black Mountains though and watch out for m/crossers and 4x4s.

nice – will run mine 1×9 (or poss 1×10) as singlespeed not very practical where i am. Being thinking of a new steel frame for a while now. Was a toss up in the end between this and a Hummingbird. This one won as it looked tougher. What forks are those?

I struggle after exercise with mine – take a load of Gaviscon before I set out on a ride and the ride is fine but suffer 12/24 hrs after. Such a hernia call also affect your vegas (spelling) nerve and make you feel grotty or you lungs contract so it says on the web somewhere. I have a few more tests to measure acid in my throat etc but will go for the op if I can.

the bridleway in question is actually on FC land at Crynant so the FC might be more willing than other landowners to do something. Thanks for the feedback.

thanks Coatsy/Capt'n M – def not the GS and having just spent 15 mins sat on the floor at Treadz even the new bikes with the SLX have very little tension on the small/small. I'll just lose another link.
