You shouldn’t be on the hill full stop unles you can use map, compass now how to triangulate etc. Not sure if there is a mtb ‘naismiths’ rule though.

If you search on here there is a very good cheeky route over Fan Gyhirych which you can tie in with Sarn Helen from either Forest Lodge, Libanus or Coelbren (better imo)

@ Oxboy: when i first had tinnitus I was given some anti-depressants in a mild does which serve to deaden the nerve endings which does seem to help some.

you should have a scan on your nut to make sure you don’t have a (sounds like acoustic but not sure it is) nuroma – a type of non malignant tumor on you acoustic nerve.

a friend on mines tinnitus was caused by an over build up of calcium on the small bones in her ear. these were replaced with artificial ones and the noise stopped.

chech out the British Tinnitus Ass’n web site which has some useful stuff on it

there is nothing to stop the two partners assigning the lease to the one who wants to carry on. much easier and does not involve the need to draw up a sub lease though the outgoing partner may need to gaurantee the performance of the continuing partner (depends on what your lease says – called an authorised gaurantee agreement). you would more than likely need your landlords consent whatever.

Would this be a good event for a first race? Not done any sort of event before. Know Brechfa so wouldn’t be unfamiliar.

Do Skyline if you have the time. Ecellent day out though seem to have had it to myself the last few weekends for some reason.

Cwm Rheadr is quite near for a quick blast and would also recommend the Doethie Valley.

Mine in question just down the road from me. Coal prices are quite high at the moment and this mine produced high quality anthracite. When the prices are high the mine is worked when not it is mothballed.

All of Skyline is open, went around last sunday. The new bit on the Wall is pretty good and more in keeping with the rest of the trail, always thought the misc jumble of blocks a bit out of place there anyway.

I’m with Taff. The NHS is cautious aboubt doing anything to anyone tbh. My wife went to see a chiropracter when the GP refused to do anything. I’m afraid your wife is on her own as far as treatment is concerned.

i think you can do this via route 47 which takes you on forestry roads up from neath sharing bits with afan’s skyline route, crosses rhigos mountain and drops you down to ynysbwl. high up in the forestry so plenty of opportunity for cheeky camping etc.

also realise that climbing indoors in no way bears any similarity whatsoever to climbing outdoors. no more useful than the gym just a littlemore fun. don’t be put off by indoor climbing because you cant pull on match heads and don’t have arms like Twizzle. get outside at the first possible opportunity even if just to scramble or boulder.
