I have a pair of the 29inch All Mountain wheels on my Gryphon and cant fault them. Well built reliable fast rolling wheelset.

The £ (without grafting for it) and the obsession with needless crap. I would also add the unrelenting selfishness of 99% of the populace and their unstinting belief in ‘their’ rights.

the skyline diversion isn’t a new cut as the afan forest web site indicates – its a very rough bit of bridle way that you will share with the local mx’ers. it was the diversion that was in place previously.

I’d only bother going if KK gets run over by a train in the end. That would be worth watching.

what somafunk said plus 1 – have all the editions of Privateer. I really did try hard to buy STW this month but in the end the decider was that the Jo Burt picture in STW didn’t quite compare with the Jo Burt stuff in Roleur (plus the article on Indy Fab) so Roleur won the day – never bought it before but an exellent read.

Apparently the Afan MTB ranger belives that Skyline was being riden by fewer people hence its closure and that the planned new route will appeal to ‘thousands’ of people – sounds grim.

A bump for anyone who might be interested.

Only experience with legal agency types who are mostly chuffin useless tbh. Most just want to punt your cv out in the hope that something will bite and they get their fee. The better agencies dont have a link to a list of jobs and you may have to pay a fee to them for an honest appraisal of where you are caree wise. In the end you may be better off sorting matters yourself.

as indicated, make seller apply to the LR and see what the outcome is.

    Nipper99

He can apply now after 12 years and obtain was is termed a ‘possessory title’ and then after another 10 or 12 years, can’t remember which off the top of my head, you can apply for the title to be upgraded to ‘absolute title’ (best class of title)assuming no-one has queried your occupancy in the intervinig period. I’d get your seller to apply now for possessory title, at his cost and hassle – if the Land Registry kick it back you’ll know where you stand.

Obtain statutory declaration regarding exclusive occupation from your seller. If your seller has occupied the land since 2000 then a claim can be made for possessory title now assuming the land is unregistered – 12 years is required. I am assuming the land is fenced in otherwise simple act of maintaining the ground won’t be sufficient evidence of occupation from the Land Registry’s point of view.

As indicated above, to the extent that you can trust FC Wales then I would simply refer you to what happened with Penyhdd. I did suggest that Cognation post here but obviouslt they have choosen not to.

If you look at the FC Afan web page (this lists all the numerous closures and diversions)the eastern loop (the main and best bits of Skyline) are shut for good it would appear as they are starting to build the monster windfarm there. If I was coming fron any distance at all I really wouldn’t bother with Afan at all for the foreseeable future due to all of the various closures. The FC Wales really do boil my p*** – I queried what happening with Skyline with Cognation some time ago(the multi agency body inc the FC tasked with promoting mtb’ing in s.wales) and was told the Skyline would remain open throughout but it appears the FC have now changed their minds without notice. I am a big fan of Skyline proper i.e. with the eastern loop(Cognation say that because a few of the sections remain and you are diverted back along what was a previous diversion that is cut up by mx’ers the route is open ffs)and it is sad to think that it is lost for ever. Rant over.

They are great, today went from Glais to Bracelet Bay in Mumbles, had a cup of tea and an ice cream at Fortes, and home again with no road other than 2 crossings.

It is! Into Glais village up what was Garth Road. Is there a way over Craig y Pal, i’ve been so far but it seems to run out of track.

Shooterman. I also a solicitor in a rural practice and can imagine the worry, its an odd profession full of w#####s who are likly to look down their nose at someone who has found themselves in the situation you find yourself in. You could try locum work and that can really suit some people – I know plenty who have done this. Not sure what your area of work is or where your based?

10 speed road (sti) works fine with 9 speed xt rear mech on 11/36 where the 10 speed xt rear wouldn’t – is it a different pull, have you tried it?

    Nipper99

you can use your current 9 speed rear mech i think.

the stem is an 80mm plus 6 degree Planet X job. the shifters are 10 speed 105 sti with a 9 speed xt rear mech which is ok for the 11/36 10 speed rear set with a 32t middleburn uno up front.
