I picked up one at M&S. Authentic Yorkshire Tweed by Moon. Was under 40 years old at time of purchase! 6 panel.

Can’t believe no-one has suggested this yet. Seemed popular on STW a while back.

Onza Ibex Skinwall but that is only 2.25 as well. Don’t know how it would size up against Ardent but would say that the tread is a bit more aggressive.

I’ve got the MRP Ribbon Coil on mine and love it! Sorry, can’t comment on the air but can on MRP customer service, it’s legendary.

Leading Hand took me aside as a probationer and said “trust no-one!”. Best career advice I’ve ever had. I now pass this font of knowledge on to every probationer coming through.

Tell him that he’s loved and that you all want to see him live a long and healthy life, making memories with the ones he loves. Offer to go with him.

If he gets angry/violent again I’d leave it. You can’t help someone that doesn’t want to be helped.

I’d keep quiet. If the council do find out about it I can pretty much guarantee that they’ll put an end to it sharpish. The way society is at the moment with litigation and insurance companies attitude towards health and safety have shaped the way in which organisations dictate policy.

Bryan Bettws near Afan. It’s on Y Wall trail and the skills Park is right next door. We usually stay in the cabins. Sleep 5 and have their own showers. Bike storage in secure lock-up and they will do evening meals for extra on request. Going again in September.

Really great achievement, massive congratulations, especially with that epic last day. Are you frequenting Northern Grip again this year? May need to seek you out for advice for 2019’s HT550.

Check out Wheelers Mountain bike Holidays in Lousa. Done quite a bit of research on this and it’s our next Euro destination.

Black bear ran across trail. I was following michaelcycle in Riva, Lake Garda. He asked me if I saw it and it wasn’t until he made me look that I realised it wasn’t a deer!! Apparently they are due a cull due to migration from Slovenia. Funny old gait on them when they run! I rode a bit quicker afterwards.

Went last year as a group of 3. Awesome riding, cheap living and sunshine. Needless to say, the trails were dusty, so much so that any slabs of rock (of which there are plenty) were like riding on sheet ice. Made it fun and challenging as I needed to focus on different aspects of riding than I usually would have. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely be returning. Mike and the team are a great bunch. Just one point. As we were a smaller group we joined a larger group for one half of our stay and another for our second half of stay. This meant we were riding the harder trails (which first group had built up to and progressed during week) straight off the bat and then the easier trails on the second half ( when we joined the newcomers). All was good and it worked out fine in the end as we were tired towards end of week anyway so the easier/more flows trails were welcomed. When we return we shall definitely look to take a larger group so that we can dictate riding though.

Do it, you won’t regret it. The other spot I’d recommend for similar riding (with a bit more vegetation) would be Lake Garda from Riva but not sure of weather in October as it’s bordering Dolomites. Michaelcycle now works in Liteville Demo Center out of Riva and can sort out guiding around this area.

Bird AM9 is awesome, but I would say that as I picked mine up last week. Aeris 120 or 140 would suit and Ben & Dan at Bird have been really helpful. Great warranty too. Merida 140 800 is also getting good feedback and can be had for around £3k.

Going to Borovets in 2 weeks. First time in Bulgaria for me but have heard good feedback from friends that have been; albeit later in the season than Christmas. I did do a bit of research before committing and noted that snow conditions can be a bit hit and miss in Borovets so early in season. They do have snow cannons but think they only cover 4 runs. Could be mistaken depending on how old the info was that I read.

+1 for Nationwide. Our 11 year old has one and uses her card to pay for purchases (supervised!). Makes her feel like a real grown up as opposed to her Dad who likes razzing down the road on his bike pulling skids cos he can’t do wheelies!!! 😂

Did a week in Bubion with Switchbacks last May. I ran Bonty SE4, my mates ran Maxxis Exo 3C MinionsHR2 and On-One CM & Smorgasbord Enduro casing. All of us ran tubes and no-one punctured! Did damage my Carbon Syntace Vector bars tho. Gutted! You’ll have an awesome time btw!!!!

Have a look on JRA website (justridingalaong). Really good value wheels using Bitex Hubs. I’ve used with a WTB Asymm i35 rim. Really good value and reliable so far. 9 months riding XC to BPW to Bikepacking and still true.

Oh, and a hell of a lot lighter than Alpkit wheel it replaced

Oh, by the way, I’m from The arse end of Huddersfield and wouldn’t use that as an excuse to act like a troglodyte. However, there are equal troglodytes in Huddersfield as there is everywhere else!

IdleJon, went with my brother-in-law who was living local at the time, in Ynysarwed, albeit Irish. He was also a Para based in Sennybridge (detached). I guess it was easy to spot my accent being a Yorkshireman. He thought it was highly amusing. And so did I, but that could be because I was with a 6’5” brick s#*thouse!

Had good and bad experiences in Wales. Just like anywhere else on this planet. There are dickheads everywhere. Visited a social club in Resolven (nr Glynneath, South Wakes) in 2003. There was a sign in the window that read ‘No Dogs, No English’. I thought it was a joke until about half a pint in! Also met friendliest people ever in Conwy. Couldn’t help enough. They continued to speak Welsh after dealing with us and it didn’t bother me a jot. Felt rather embarrassed I couldn’t even say thank you in Welsh. I’d usually make an effort in other parts of Europe.

Looking forward to Gary Oldman as Churchill in February

Anyone tried the new MRP Ribbon coil yet? Given that its mostly positive feedback on their Ramp Control cartridge, I’m hoping for awesome results on their coil set-up.

Pretty sure MPs have a 13% salary contribution to their final salary pension. The rest is made up by a 27.2% employer contribution from the treasury (that’s the taxpayer). So for every pound contributed by the MP we are contributing over £2. As they increased their salaries due to expenses scandal their contributions have also increased but so has that of the taxpayer, exponentially.

You can run both in it and have 2 sets of wheels ready to go depending on what I’m riding.
Edit – just got to be careful of tyre choice due to clearance in rear.
