Working as a systems Engineer at Royal Mail at the mo, but the company’s completely imploding, as the nepotism and promotions to useless sycophants is finally coming home to roost.
I have my CV out far and wide, as I’m thoroughly cheesed off with the daily infighting (some of it actually physical).

So that brings them down to only a little bit more expensive than everyone else then!

Well done Taylor, having spent more years than I care to remember training, working and competing BCs he sounds fine and dandy, and just a little bored (a common trait amongst Borders). It might be worth getting in touch with a local agility or flyball club to see if anyone would consider taking him on as a foster home.

Jenbe, if you’re going to consider offering “advice” please try and think before you do..

You could also try these guys:

They have a fantastic record of rehoming Border Collies, as I suspect he’d transform if he had a purpose in life.

Mine is 15 miles each way, 5 days a week.

The key is to take your time initially to let you legs catchup with the increase in regular mileage, and to increase your energy intake so that you don’t burn out by Wednesday.

My wife has an African Grey Parrot. It is incredibily noisy, very demanding (will yell and yell as soon as you leave the room) and unbelievably messy!

Certainly not on my list of beloved pets.

    How old are you ?
If you’re less than 35 you’re better off without… Loads of fun and opportunity if you’re in your 20’s….
I had a great time right until I was 34 and met my beautiful wife…

Not entirely sure that came out right! Lol

I wanted something similar, and as an Engineer I new that anything “soft” would scratch and tarnish within weeks, so opted for Tungsten Carbide.

It’s been impossible to scratch and it still looks as polished as the day I bought it.

Cheer turin, I’ve just seen a job on BWEA that interests me, so I’ve popped them my CV.
    Good luck job hunting.

I work for RM, and seeing the pish poor decisions being made by those “in charge” with zero qualifications to DO their job, and how completely inept to55ers are promoted through nepotism and ars3holing, I’m throwing my CV left, right and centre before the whole thing implodes.

So, if there’s anyone in the wind industry looking for a time-served Electrical Engineer, give me a nudge before I quite literally “go postal”!!!

How do you go about transferring your movies etc to a USB stick, as I thought it was only possible to transfer to a CD burner?

NikNak – that sounds terrible…. assume yours was a worst case scenario??

    It was, thankfully.
They told me that (usually) it’s pretty well knitted together in about 6 weeks, but takes roughly 3 months for the new bone to harden and be up to full strength.

The important thing between now and then is to start on a course of (very) gentle Physiotherapy, so that the shoulder joint doesn’t sieze up, and you don’t lose too much muscle through inactivity.

In my case – 18 months, after being mis-diagnosed as healing when it clearly wasn’t (one of the fractured ends rubbing against my jugular 😯 ), and wait for surgery, then the screws from the plate pulling out of the bone, requiring a 2nd (emergency) round of surgery to remove it!

    What are the odds?!

I’m currently in a similar position of having spent 23 years in a Maintenance/ Installation Engineering position, I’m also looking to transfer into renewables as it has a bright future (see what I did there )

Why you not take number and report to police?

I was thinking the same thing, regardless of where it happens that kind of behaviour is not acceptable.

I think most of the positive points have been covered already, so I’ll just add that our 2 lived with 4 (now down to 1 through old age) cats and an African Grey Parrot, and have shown little interest in anything other than the usual idle curiosity.

Introduce him early on, in a controlled manner and, like all other training, ensure than he has the opportunity to learn what the rules of the house are, and you’ll be fine.

Again, ours are not destructive at all …apart from loving to shred a toy to get at a squeaker!
and ours definitely shed hair EVERYWHERE! Lol

My wife’s American, and having spent plenty of time travelling back and forth living with family, I’ve come to the conclusion that to make a decent life over there you’re going to have to be working 2 jobs, with very little holiday …and hope to god you don’t ever need to visit a Doctor or the Hospital.

The guys are right, this is a joint wedding, and if she won’t compromise over this first joint decision, then you have a choice.

Either Marry her and be happy that she’s either going to make ALL the decisions for the rest of your life and you’re not, or sit her down and decide whether this marriage is a bad idea, until she grows up and learns a successful marriage is about compromise and not acting childish every time she needs to consider someone else’s feelings.

(Spoken from the position of having an Ex that behaved in a similar fashion)
