We’ve been using Ocado for 2 years now, and would be hard pushed to go back to doing a full shop in the Sainsburys just around the corner.
We’ve only ever had 2 (15 minute) late deliveries, but that’s been countered by a number of early deliveries; each time with a phonecall from the driver apologising for each.

Ocado all the way for us!

I’m currently studying for my BEng with the OU (after 20 years away from the books) and am thoroughly enjoying it at the moment, although I am an Engineer but need my degree to move onwards and upwards.

Most of my work is related to offshore power: oil/gas/renewables.
    There’s LOADS of work

Anyone want a job? We need people…

    Aye!

I have 23 years experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, but every job I’ve applied for demanded a minimum 2 – 5 years previous experience in the Industry, with all relevant tickets already in place!

I’ve had my Octabvia Scout for about a year now, and it’s a cracker.
It’s comfortable, quiet, quick, very roomy (considering it’s based on the Golf platform), and hasn’t missed a beat.

Would I buy another – in a heartbeat!

I never really understood the whole Sports personality of the year thing, but if it’s for outstanding sporting acheivement of the year, I’m voting for Chrissie Wellington breaking her own Ironman world record …again!
She is the first British athlete to hold the Ironman Triathlon World Championship, and is undefeated over the Ironman distance.

It depends on what you’re choosing to photograph. We’ve just come back from Yosemite, and we could of done with something wider than the 18mm we had.

Location (for me) is very important, as you’ll only be at work for roughly a 1/3rd of the day.

I moved from a place 40 mins away from the Derbyshire peaks, to a place inside the M25 (long story involving a very messy divorce with a philandering wife), and to be honest there isn’t a single day when don’t miss it!

I’d choose Bristol over Brighton, assuming that you’re not planning on living IN Bristol.

Bristol has the option of the Chilterns, Forest of Dean, Dartmoor/Exmoor, and Wales for a longer trip. It’s also gonna be easier to get to Cumbria from Bristol than navigating around the M25 from Brighton.
The downside is that cheeky trips across the Belgium and France is gonna be less likely from Bristol.

Glad she’s ok now DD, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s a little standoffish with dogs for a while :-/

    *As an olive branch*
If it had been my dogs DD, and in the heat of the moment, I’d have done whatever was necessary to secure my dogs; but the law most definitely would have been called, and the dog held until they’d arrived (or it’d have been taken to the nearest RSPCA centre).

    Last comment then DD 😉

Under the dangerous dogs act, a dog classed as being “dangerously out of control in a public place” can be destroyed. The owner can be fined and imprisoned for up to six months.

If a dog injures someone, the owner can be jailed for up to two years.

“Other pieces of legislation covering dogs include the Animals Act 1971, which says the keeper of an animal is liable for any damage it causes, the Guard Dogs Act 1975 and the Dogs Act 1871.”

Is it that difficult to tell the Police that you feared for your own safety when dealing with a dangerous dog?

    NikNak7890

Because without reporting and/or evidence the Police can’t do the job “planet Daily Mail” demand they do.
There are very simple techniques to subdue a dog (and their owner) and neither involve either a footballer’s kick, or a boxer’s punch.
A dog, even one that’s been taught to to fight/fear every other dog, should be treated with sensitivity and care.
