It’s a used tyre, so no warranty
Ah right, could you pop it on the rear where you might not notice it as much?
nigewFree MemberI’ve had this with several Maxxis tyres after a puncture, it felt like a buckled wheel, I had both replaced under warranty by Tredz.
nigewFree MemberSo we are heading up tomorrow afternoon and plan to attempt to ride the steepest techiest trails we can find around HB on Sunday
If you want ridiculous steep tech head through Tunnel of Love and turn right when the trail opens up in the trees, follow this to Hebden Delph where there are some new (ish) jumps then turn left towards the station and look for a large rock by a tree and turn right into the abyss ;-) if you survive this climb the concrete track to the first wall on your left and drop down a few steep berms the local kids have dug!
The main trail on barely legal mentioned above is fine, I rode it yesterday, the fencing is on The Black Pig which crosses it
nigewFree MemberThere are a few other trails from the top to the hut halfway down so you should manage more than 5 good runs, have fun, it’s always good fun there👍🏼
nigewFree MemberThe push up from the very bottom is probably 15-20 mins, it’s a while since I did it, you can also session the top faster section and push back up in 5 mins, the number of runs depends on how fit you are ;-)
nigewFree MemberLike others in all three Triton threads I ordered something from them which never arrived when stated, my email querying it’s whereabouts went unanswered!
It just turned up this morning, hope this helps folk who are concerned.nigewFree MemberI had similar to a couple of posters above, ordered a rear wheel, money taken and no wheel showed up, I waited a week because of the current situation then tried calling & then emailing, no reply! I also raised a dispute via PayPal and got a reply in my favour the following day
nigewFree MemberI’m 99% certain this is the tool you need
https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/lifeline-x-tools-crank-extractor/rp-prod10181
You will need something to fill the hole in the axle once the bolt is out, a 5p piece used to do the trick on hollowtech cranksEDIT
this on ebay may be better, it appears to have the plug on the endnigewFree MemberHave a look on Air B&B for i-lets Innerleithen, I’ve stayed there twice, it’s central to town, great value, got secure bike storage, sleeps 6 and the folk who own it are easy to deal with.
nigewFree MemberI have a Gusset Lil Chap on one bike, which works great and just bought a cheaper one for another bike like this off ebay which seems to work fine too
nigewFree MemberI don’t think you can shrink man made fibres!
They’ll definitely go smaller if you put them in an oven though ;-)nigewFree MemberStraight down under the Super M lift, lean back and hold on ;-)
Seriously there is a track underneath, not sure if it’s out of bounds, not many where heading down last summer but it’s rideable but steepnigewFree MemberMaybe a cable adjuster from an old gear shifter would fit too.
Or a replacement ZTTO dropper lever from ebay won’t be expensivenigewFree MemberOr a normal bolt and glue it in place?
I had to do similar with the Axle on a pair of Fox 40s!
Is the axle hollow on 36s?
I drilled through the rounded allen end, popped a bolt in and tightened a nylock nut on the other side, it’s been fine for 2 years!nigewFree MemberBoardinbob speaks much sense!
The first time I went I took a Cove Hustler with 140 mm Pikes while most of our group had DH bikes, it was out of its depth on nearly everything! The second time I had a 160 mm travel Yeti, which was OK
The last 6 times I’ve been I have had various different DH bikes and enjoyed the riding much better and a combination of push/ pedal over to be Linderets or to the Mossettes lift has been fine! The lift system is easy to work out and if you get stuck ask for a few pointers, even the French are quite helpful ;-)
A full day on the Pleney is a must, there are some really really steep sections just off the Blue Family routenigewFree MemberThere’s a bike park with uplift at
Pamporova which was good & fairly certain that there’s a guiding company near Varna but can’t rem the name, Google may help with that.
I’ve been twice with mtb Bulgaria but they’re more Borovets/ Bankso area
EDIT
This may help
From 5 years agonigewFree MemberHave a look at La Massana/ Vallnord Andorra, I went last June and really enjoyed it, very chilled out, well maintained trails with a mix to suit all abilities.
My trip coincided with maxiavalanche and a few trails were closed while the race was on, I think that’s 13-15 June and I would avoid for the UCI DH which is 2 weeks later, unless you fancy watching it!
I think the lifts are open till the end of Sept too but obviously check firstEven shared a lift with Cedric Gracia, sick boi ;-)
nigewFree MemberI think Cotic recommend 140 on all models of Bfe but suggest a 160 can be used for The Alps etc.
Have a search through Cotic’s website for a video of a Bfe hitting Crab Apple hits in Whistler!! Bonkers!EDIT
Found it for you
https://m.pinkbike.com/video/492139/nigewFree MemberI have the previous model from 2018 so slightly shorter than this year’s.
It’s a very capable bike, I ride around Calderdale which is a real mixed bag, rocky, greasy, steep and it handles everything, I wouldn’t describe it as chuckable though, simply because it’s long!
I’ve been riding it more than my Foxy just recently.
I’m 5’10 & ride a medium built up with 140 Fox 34s, DT Swiss E1900 & 1X11
I previously had a 26 ain’t dead version with 160 36s on, it felt great going down but the front kept popping up hence the shorter travel this timenigewFree MemberTredz also have it on offer for the same price, it comes with bar & helmet mounts, sign up for the newsletter and receive a £5 voucher
nigewFree MemberWell I didn’t know about the park but am now considering a visit and possibly even a holiday down in that direction. All publicity is good publicity?
Make sure you get to the uplift pick up point quickly!
I’ve been twice in the last 12 months with a couple of riding mates & been left waiting because they have booked more people on than places on the minibus!Danny is good lad
Not good enough to give his seat up on the bus so that a paying customer could keep riding!
nigewFree MemberI don’t think there is one that will work, On One/ Planet X had an Avid clamp on offer for £5 which will allow you to ditch the reverb remote, that’s what I used for mine
EDIT This one
https://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/BSAVMMXMA/avid-mmx-matchmaker-clamp-blacknigewFree MemberI have just arranged some insurance for Morzine through
https://www.assurmix.com/sport-insuranceafter seeing it recommended on here a few weeks ago
£22 for a week
nigewFree MemberI’ll be in Morzine at the end of the month and was considering a trip to Morgins, on a Downhill bike, instead of Champery black for a change, how much of a push up is it to Champoussin?
nigewFree MemberA quick update if anyone is considering Vallnord
As I mentioned above we went for the opening weekend in June which coincided with the Maxiavalanche.
The 3 hour transfer wasn’t too bad, we landed at 10 pm so it felt worse than our return journey. The bike park was great, easy to navigate, well maintained trails and no massive queue’s at any of the three lifts, we did a few blues to warm up and mixed it up on the reds and blacks in the afternoon. We found a few off piste trails which were steep but there was enough in The Bike Park to occupy for our 5 day trip, the World Cup track was closed in prep for The World DH visit two weeks later but managed to ride the lower wooded steep parts, it crisses and crosses the Maxiavalanche, that was a little intimidating but we all managed to get down it, just!
There is a dedicated bike patrol who were very helpful with extra info or directions and the Commencal shop at the top of the gondala helped our group out with a few mechanical’s at sensible prices.
The Commencal Spot was a great place to finish at the end of the day, it had a good vibe, the food and beer were fine, not the cheapest but certainly not Alps prices.
La Massana itself was fairly quiet of an evening but we found a few nice places to eat and the locals were all really friendly, we never worked out which language to speak, it seems a mash up of catalan, French, Spanish, English with a touch of Portuguese thrown in to really confuse ;-)We never ventured to Andorra La Velle but there is more nightlife to be had there and was only a 10 min taxi ride
If anyone is considering going do it, you won’t be disappointed.
Our group will definatley going back next yearnigewFree MemberI bent mine in a big crash and replaced it with
The seller was easy to deal with and it arrived quickly
nigewFree MemberThe bit behind the Skircoat church. I followed what I thought was the route yet there looked to be other options in those woods. A steep line that started with a sharp left near some steps? I’ll investigate this another time. Although the start of the track was blocked off initially at the back of the church yard. I also nearly got wedged between a tree and a wall and I only run 760mm bars.
The footpath is closed, the wall is leaning over, it’s possible to go to the right of the church and jump over the wall.
The steep trail by the steps is good, not so much so in the wet, it leads down to the bottom of Cow Lane.
When you head down again, go to the right of the trees, a new line has appeared for wide bars ;-)Also, just before that cobbled intro to the Copley Cracker. There was a little trail from the road that drops onto the cobbled road. I missed it. Plus I was heading for the Blue Balls bit. Was I supposed to ride that?
That sneaky part is good if you’re riding Puntle into Copley Cracker/ Hollas Lane, watch the end as it drops onto the cobbles
Enjoy exploring, there’s plenty to find
nigewFree MemberHave a look at the Calderdale Way descent off highLee lane down towards Ripponden! It’s officially a footpath but if you push past the house in the woods & be polite you’ll be fine! The climb back up Rip bank is brutal but worth the descent!
Norland is ok but best used as a way to access other thingsnigewFree MemberMate was out there this last weekend – said there has been a huge amount of work on the trails, not just a scrape over – but complete rebuilds
They needed to! I was out there last August and everything was smashed to bits, more than usual.
I’ll be back again for the closing week and was wondering if the trails from Avoriaz to Lindarets were now open, they were all closed last time, along with The French National into Lindarets.
nigewFree MemberWill you be featured on the next series of Police Interceptors? ;-)
nigewFree MemberThat’s the best biking video ever!!
Those roots are a lot steeper than they look too! :-)nigewFree Member@ciciak
Only just seen your reply, i’ll give it a try when I have more time after work. Many thanks
nigewFree MemberStock answer is always Morzine ;-)
The Pass porte du soliel area does have that type of riding.
There are some big table tops on Zore, some fairly big drops on The Pleney Red and Chatel bike park has plenty of variation, gaps, drops step ups.
Have a look at world bike parks for other areas
http://www.worldbikeparks.com/nigewFree MemberThe problem is with GPS data handling so is quite a long way removed from the Strava app, so reinstalling that is highly unlikely to change anything.
Any update would have to be for the phone’s GPS driver or something along those lines, so unless your phone has updates from the manufacturer there’s probably nothing you as an end user can actually do about it.
The latest reply from Strava is similar to this.
I’m due a phone update soon, ill get in touch with my provider and bring it forward.nigewFree MemberPeople I follow seem to be managing too.
I’ll have a Google to see if theres a way of recalibrating my phones GPS
Edit. I’ve uninstalled & installed again, logged out & back in toonigewFree MemberThe same question was asked a few weeks ago, some helpful advice in there.
EDIT: Hire places don’t allow their trail bikes to be ridden in the park
