Another one Sam?! What did you do this time?!

Was out Sunday riding way down west near Penzance, was very wet and went to ride across a big rock, front wheel slid down the side of it and into a gully, this pitched me straight off ther side of the bike and sideways onto my shoulder. Now have soft tissue damage/muscle and a very swollen shoulder..X-rays showed no break but looks like at least 4-6 weeks to sort it.The doctor said that it could take longer to sort than a break, have limited movement and is very painfull..No riding again for me..Getting to old to keep hurting myself

Did an on the spot repair for a young lady on Saturday, had no money on her and the gear cable snapped whilst riding.
Repaired the cable,2 hrs later she popped back in and brought fresh chocolate cookies and the money for the cable..

There are still some good people out there.

I run a standard post on my Trek Superfly 100 sl,its my XC bike so dont really need one. My Nicolai AC has a Reverb, this bike is my trail bike that i do all the really steep and technical trails on.

I dont think i will fit one to my Trek,as i prefer to keep it as light as possible and its just over 24lbs.

I had a Trek stache 7 and found the standard front gears to be not enough,In the end i upgraded to SLX 28/40.

    Strange that you need smaller.

As someone has mentioned you will need to go 22/36.

I am quite lucky as i have trails within a mile of my house, Missus works full time Monday-Friday, I work 5 days in 7,but as we are busiest at the weekend i usually have days off during the week,so kids are at school and i can get out and ride.

Was out on my AC today,1st time in a month,Forgot how much fun that bike is,And its pretty quick for a 32 lb bike.

4 KOM and a 21 mile ride in 26 degrees..

Cant wait untill friday for the most rocky and unfriendly trails that i ride..It feels at home on them.

Most 130mm forks that have a tapered steerer and 15 mm axle are pretty stiff nowadays.
Would be a very good trail bike running 130mm.
I decided that i wanted a 1 bike for everything at the time. But now also have a Trek superfly 100 SL 29er as my XC bike,Its fast and light but isnt as much fun or as confidence inspiring as the AC for ridng, the AC makes you wanna hop off stuff and use Roots as small kickers and send it off small jumps and drops
