    Have a hightower as well.
I remove shock bolt and grease it that way
i have started using marine grease tubes from ebay.
I use the Dualco grease gun, the small pointed nozzle fits into the grease nipple.

Been using this for a while now.
I empty half the container into another bottle(after shaking the hell out of it), Then top up original bottle with water..
    Has been really good.
    So £8 of it makes 2.5litres. 🙂

My Ab-Black oval ring went really noisy when using the 50t and 42t after about 500 miles.
Put the eagle chainring back on and was quiet.

Some of the Trek wheels use a plastic rim strip and valve.
Th rim strip fits all the way across and up the sides, so probably need to get them.

Would have thought that they would have tested 29 v 650b and found the 29 to be consistently faster or they would not be using them.

    Try the Hope 12t ones
Also try greasing the bearings regularly as they do get a lot of mud and water on them

Try putting the wheel in the wrong way around.
if the gap stays the same as in the picture its the frame, if it swaps sides its the wheel.

Wouldnt worry about a fast engagement rear hub as the gearbox has the slowest pick up of anything i have ridden

That’s the whole point – the gearbox pickup is one of the weak points. You want the hub to add as little as possible to it (remember the chainring isn’t attached directly to the cranks.)

will be such a small amount.. The gearbox is about 120 degree pickup..

Was horrible to pedal in gullys and on tech where you needed to ratchet the cranks..

Btw, if it hasn’t been said yet, slipping gears when you change your chain is caused by the cassette being also too worn.

Brand new cassette same time as chain. Sunrace 11-42

Could also be not enough chain engaging

Have a G-16 on order for a customer and has been delayed twice.
Was due just before xmas, then wk 3, now saying end of next week.
Also has new 2017 rear end as Chainline,s picture.

I am still on my 3 year old Ion16 but fancy changing it to a G-16 frame at some point.
Really interested in the G-13 as i also have a Hightower and use that a lot. G-13 looks like a perfect Trail bike

I own almost the exact same bike as that except mine has rock shox.

I can confirm it is a terrible bike to ride these days but does indeed look incredible in real life.

It’s also for sale at a price a lot less than that one.

    That is stunning.

Email in profile if you wanna message me the price
