what is it like on the ups??

    Pedals excellently for its weight.
as Geetee mentioned,My black one was 33lbs but was fun to ride,Was overkill on a lot of stuff, but you can make trails more playfull with it,using rocks as kickers etc.
I think the latest AM was within 100g of the old Fr,so very close.AM uses a longer travel shock.

Nicolaisam what was the fr like to ride????
    Posted 13 hours ago # Report-Post

The Fr is an awesome bike,Great all rounder,Can ride everything and everywhere on it.
Have done Uplift days at Cwmcarn on it,Did 10 trips to Gawton on it aswell.I havent ridden an AM but was told they are very similar.
Only reason i sold them was i didnt have time to use it too its full potential,so brought an AC

    nicolaisam

Have had 2 Nicolai Fr’s and Ion st and now have an AC.
Have my Ac built as a not shy trail bike,Bos Devilles(140mm) up front and a CCDB coil shock.I9 wheels,X0,XX groupset.

Stunning to ride,No flex and no problems, without doubt the best bike i have ridden.
I honestly dont think you can go weong with a Nicolai.Colours are the worst bit.
    Bring on the Pinion gearbox…lol
Could be something Nicolai new happening soon, once i get enough money saved.

Outer ring looks very worn in that picture.Teeth look pointed.
How worn was the chain when you changed it,if it was very worn, you would have needed to replace, chain, casette and chain rings

Yoshimi- No i let the forks go to there natural position.

the slack dosent matter, makes no difference as long a the hub is tight.when i do the leg clamp up it stops the leg from moveing.

    nicolaisam

The axle should clamp all of the hub towards the disk mount side of the fork.

The idea of the other leg being free floating is so it dosent load the bushings sideways. My Bos forks do exactly the same.

The axle should clamp all the hub and spacers towards the disc side leg.I had a bike that used hope hubs and you needed to tighten the axle very tight to remove the play.

Stendec replaced an adjuster on my CCDB after it got hit by a rock that was spat off my mates wheel.

was a good price and has been working ever since.

Craig at Avalanche in the states is excellent.i sent mine back to him.

Has the shock been custom valved, theres sometimes a noise as the damping changes from compression to rebound.

Spin-Its quite easy for the shop to do,not sure what there problem is.

I ordered something for a customer late thursday afternoon, arrived today from Mavic.

I have had my Devilles for a year and 5 months.

Mine are the 140mm trc model.

I run mine with the TRC on most of the time,i only use the full travel setting when needed.

As the fork runs high in its travel, most of the XC/Trails i ride dont require 140mm of travel.

An excellent fork,Buttery smooth and rides very well.
