I put landcruisers on for the ride up to cote de cray from gargrave which made it a hell of a lot easier but still grippy when i needed them (extreme terrain around the leeds liverpool canal) and they only cost £22 for the pair from halfords.

Thanks for the feedback peeps. I think its the 2.0 gtd so it should be a bit quicker than the bmw. I doubt it will have leather as the company doesnt go for optional extras as they buy all the company cars outright rather than lease them.

Once again this year, I’ve had requests for my Vodka Christmas Cake recipe so here goes. Please keep in your files as I am beginning to get tired of typing this up every year! (Made mine this morning!!!!) 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp. salt , 1 cup brown sugar, Lemon juice, 4 large eggs, Nuts, 1……bottle Vodka, 2 cups dried fruit.Sample a cup of Vodka to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Vodka again to be sure it is of the highest quality then Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the Vodka is still OK. Try another cup just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver Sample the Vodka to test for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Check the Vodka. Now shit shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don’t forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the Vodka and wipe the counter with the cat.

I ran mine at 140mm and found it better for climbing but moved back to 120mm and found it a lot quicker on trails. I think Orange sugest no more than 140mm (might be wrong).

I did up an old GT a few months ago and had the same problem. I used these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CANTI-LEVER-MOUNTAIN-BIKE-CYCLE-BRAKE-ALLOY-FRONT-REAR-NEW-/350757976937?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item51aacdfb69 as it was easier to get the whole lot and they include the pads. Much cheapness.

After waiting for the mega I just wanted anything at the time. For the money it seemed perfect and to be honest its the best buy i’ve made re bikes so far. It might not handle big stuff as well as the mega but then again I tend to do more riding around Gargrave and Malham now so I dont need a big travel bike. I’ve still got a spec enduro if I feel the need for something bigger.

Another Bikescene special. After waiting tooo long for a nukeproof mega in xl to arrive I went for the ST4 instead. Superb bike. I’ve just removed the spacer on forks to make them 140mm. Will I die?
