Krakow and Budapest are great for a long weekend.

Cheap beer, good food and enough to keep you interested for a weekend.

https://kingofshooting.com/krakow/team Good for a few sober hours fun.

If you book a few months ahead you should get flights and hotels for under £150.

I stop in Horley every week for business. If you like B&B’s try http://www.gable-end.com/. I’ve been there for 5 years and can highly recommend it. Joe and Mary offer free transfers (both ways I think) to Gatwick.

I bought the Imprint Grips from TMR when they started on Kickstarter. They shipped over in Aug/Sept 2014 and I’m still using the same grips. Talk about a product with longevity. I’ve reset them once since receiving them.

My folks have lived near Poitiers for the past 15 years so we have have tried every permutation of getting there as painlessly as possible (from Earby). We are heading out there at Easter on the Portsmouth to Caen ferry as this always feels the most relaxed way of doing it. We tried Hull a few years ago and hated the long drive in France which for you would be nearly 8 hours).

Roughly 5 hours to Portsmouth, 5 hr crossing with a cabin and then 3hrs 30 driving in France (5hrs 30 ish to Briva la gaillarde).

If you need an overnight along the way i’d go from Portsmouth to St Malo but it always seems pricey.

I’ve used cubot for a while now and just picked up the x17 from Amazon. Good camera(hdr – whatever that means), battery life is good and its either dual sim or sim and micro sd card.

I’ve used a local logistics firm for frames and bulky items before. Worked out at £10 + vat per large parcel in the UK.

Great pedals. I bought a pair from llandegla about 4 years ago. I’m still using the same pedals. Easy to service, light and grippy.

Mrs the greek has had 2. The 1.8 petrol and the 1.3 cdti. Great little car, fun in the summer and very practical (unless you want to fit a bike in). Despite losing half the boot space when the roof is down, we managed to tour around France for 2 weeks with 4 cases/bags in. Given the choice I would go for the 1.8 again with leather.
As far as problems watch for the seat bolsters on the drivers side wearing.
If you want to go away in it you can get specific luggage for behind the front seats.

I questioned them about it a few weeks ago and got this response
    “Many thanks for your e-mail.

In line with many other major brands Canyon prices its products specifically for each local market. This allows us to have a fixed price in each market for the whole season, and not expose customers to any exchange rate fluctuations.

So if you are buying a bike for delivery in the UK, the only way to do this is to pay in GBP/£ at the price shown on our website. Orders for the delivery to the ROI are priced in Euros.

It’s not possible for orders that ship to the UK to be processed using the advertised Euro price, just the GBP one.

    Sincerely,

    Canyon Bicycles Ltd”

So I thought sod this for a game of soldiers and picked up a nukeproof mega instead. Much fun to be had.

ps Thanks to the chaps at Ubyk. Great service.

I’ve got a 2014 golf with uneven rear tyre wear or ‘saw toothing’ and after dealing with vw customer services and the local dealer for a month i’ve hit a brick wall. Because we dont get the car serviced at a vw dealer then vw wont help. So much for a supposedly good company, warranty and £30,000. I wouldnt touch a vw with a bargepole again.

We head up there 2 or 3 times a year and always head for the peebles hydro. Good for breakfasts, bar and it has a pool/sauna/steam room. We normally get b&b and use of the pool for £50 a night. If you are riding Glentress you can get there from the Hydro car park.

I was at whinlatter on Friday with WTB Bronsons and I nearly caused myself some damage a few times. Great in the dry but nasty on anything remotely wet. Back to Mountain Kings for the winter now. They might be a bit poor for rolling resistance but they will grip in the wet and the corners, but more so they are predictable. It takes a lot for them to give way and lose traction and grip.

Nice and healthy 6ft2, 19st here and I ride a Hammerhead thumper at the mo. Before that an orange st4. Just need to pump the shock to 250-260 and it works great.
Berms are fantastic, jumps are a bit trickier. Me and gravity have this arrangement you see…..

I bought one from Stuart a few weeks ago. My previous was an Orange st4 and this runs as good as if not better. It feels as capable as my old spec enduro.

When I bought it I had the choice of this or a Nukeproof Mega. This seemed a bit different so I got it.

I tried it last month for a few weeks just to see if I could go without (a life long 5-10 a day). I didn’t feel any real benefit although my lack of concentration when driving was a big problem. If I didn’t drive a 1000 miles a week I might still be off it. So if you drive a lot keep drinking. If you don’t, stop.
